A new great find in chinatown. Moving back to calgary, I miss the Chinese food scene in Toronto…read morewhere there is plenty of different Chinese dishes from different provinces of china. Most of the time Chinese food consists of Cantonese style cuisines. Therefore I was very happy to find something different. Thanks to Google I was able to order a traditional dish popular in Guilin. In fact the dish I ordered is only written in Chinese in the menu so thank goodness I was able to show the server the picture of the dish I wanted to eat. The food was good and they had different selections in their menu. The dish I ordered was roast pork noodles. Unfortunately the pork was on the fatty side. But its a dish I would order again. This is definitely a restaurant I will return to when I crave noodles.

I often get myself the special house fried Rice because it has the mix all meat and sea food. It felt good to eat with every bite. This place is averagely small but your really there for the food. Menu selection is limited. There are other Chinese foods besides this place. With a shared washroom that needs a key outside the restaurant and into the small food court. Staff is good and not as busy. Food tastes delicious but nothing unique to make it stand out differently besides the fact that they serve food freshly cooked. Getting here is limited to street parking. Recommended for people who like traditional Chinese food.

This restaurant in Calgary's Chinatown was highly recommended by a family member, and they were…read moreabsolutely right. We had been eating overly heavy dinners over the past few days, so we decided to be relatively gentle with our order this time. Here is a breakdown of what we tried: Xiao Long Bao (小籠包 - Soup Dumplings): This is my daughter's favorite, so we ordered two baskets for her. They were executed beautifully. They were well-steamed on a clean sheet, and thankfully, there was no grayish blood seeping out of the meat. The wrapper (麵 皮) was right on the spot--not too hard or soft, not too thick or thin, and it didn't have that rubbery "chewing gum" or mushy "play dough" texture you get at lesser places. The pork filling tasted clean with no funky pork smell. Very nice. Beef and Tendon Noodle Soup: This was just okay, but to be fair, I don't expect a flawless bowl of beef noodle soup from a restaurant that doesn't strictly specialize in it (especially at a Dim Sum-focused spot). The broth was a bit plain and served lukewarm. The tendon, however, was well-cooked and well-marinated with a pleasant taste; it was a bit on the firmer side, which didn't bother me. The noodles were on the softer, sparser side rather than dense and chewy. I personally prefer a firmer noodle, but again, I can't complain too much given the venue. Spicy Tofu and Preserved Egg (麻辣皮蛋豆腐): I really liked this dish. The tofu had a fantastic, fresh soy taste, the preserved egg was delicious, and the chili oil and soy sauce dressing was perfectly balanced. If you are wondering what these "black eggs" are and feel a bit hesitant or concerned about trying them, I highly recommend giving them a shot here. This dish will easily fix those concerns! Overall, it was a great meal. I will definitely return, and next time we have the appetite, I'll dive deeper into the dishes they truly specialize in.

They were deep-fried, was no flavour or sauce, and they were all gristle and fat those when in the garbage. It was all disgusting. There was no trace of meat -if I did find any in any of the meat dishes, it was just crumbs. It was all bland. The shrimp dish was watered down couldn't even taste the sauce it waslike yellow food colouring, and it was so full of celery. All I could taste was celery - so disgusting. The Shanghai noodle dish had all these mushrooms in. There was no meat maybe 1 piece of cabbage, again bland, just terrible. They don't put meat i. the meat dishes!!. The sauces were watered down. There was no flavor. I was so disgusted with that type of money I spent and everything was terrible , I would never eat here or buy their food again. People have gone too far trying to cut cost and save money to the point that you're spending $18 on one dish and you can't even find a piece of meat in a meat dish.? all cheap noodles and cheapest veggies and no flavour. I think restaurants need to reevaluate their priorities and what they're serving people if they want to be successful.

If you love spicy food, I will highly recommend this dish. It's a simple dish but done so perfectly. It's always tender and juicy. Their ginger beef with Shanghai noodles is amazing too. Plus any meat sauted in black beans sauce is worth a try. I feel prices are a bit on higher side. For chicken and rice it's $14.95 plus tax. Normally in most similar places they would give you some kind of sautéed vegetables. Still overall a great place to have lunch or dinner. Service is always great. Highly recommended!!

Takeout is super easy, and our food has always been ready 15 minutes after ordering by phone.
