Yelp ROCKS! I was searching for new carpet service for my little entertaining room project throughout the bay area and DL Carpet popped up after just a few pages. With only 2 reviews I still decide dto give Danny the owner a call to schedule an appointment for estimate. I've done my homework at Home Depot and Lowe's just to get a comparable pricing option. Guess what? Danny price is about 25%+ cheaper and he installs the next day if the color you select is in stock. The whole process took about 2 hours for my 600 sqft room and the result was very professional. None of the horrible stories I've seen on internet complain board was anywhere to be found. Just hired them to replace a hallway carpet and make some related repairs. The owner is courteous, flexible, has good prices, does small or large jobs, and did very careful precise work. His English is a little basic, so it helps if you know what you want and can describe it clearly. But if you're patient, so is he. I've been feeling good about this all morning. Our contractor hooked us up with D.L. Carpets and we couldn't be happier. It helps if you speak Cantonese, as the owner, Denny, is a native Chinese speaker, but he also speaks passable English. Denny works out of his home, so when we went to look at carpet samples, we went into his garage and he literally opened up his trunk and showed us our options. We had borrowed a sample from S&G Carpets and he rubbed a key across it and showed us how it would not wear very well over time. He sold us a better carpet with a higher density pad for $1,000 less than what we were quoted at S&G. No joke. I guess that's what happens when you cut out the middle man and your garage is your storefront. Friends who have visited our place always comment on what nice, soft carpeting we have and I couldn't agree more. Denny and his brother also do the install, so they really take pride in doing a good job. It took us about a week to get our carpet and then they came and installed it all in about half a day. If Denny gets more calls as a result of this review, it'll be well-deserved. He'll probably wonder where all the non-Chinese speakers are getting his number. read more

Another Yelp success story. Needed to replace the carpet for the entire 2nd floor of the house, including the two flights of stairs. The carpet was devastated, over 40 years old and full of tears, runs, stains, etc. (looked like a bike gang or a meth lab had at it) Came to yelp, saw these glowing reviews, and kept DL Carpet in mind for when I was ready to pull the trigger. We used Denny from DL carpet to redo our downstairs bonus room. I first found Denny from Yelp and contacted him about a quote. He came over to our house with carpet samples and we went over some details. My husband and I were going back and forth about what we actually wanted to do so we took a few months to think about it. After finally deciding to pull the trigger we went to Colortile in SSF to see what they had to offer. They quoted us a ridiculous amount for carpeting our 12x19 room. I decided to contact Denny again and look at his samples one more time. He came over no problem and quoted us $400 less then Colortile plus would remove our old carpet (which Colortile wouldn't). We decided to go with Denny because he had a great price + we were getting a better quality carpet then Colortile had offered. We put down the 40% deposit and Denny contacted me when the carpet arrived (about 10 days later) to schedule the install. Denny and his brother came over to install. It took about 2 hours and they did a perfect job. I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Absolutely fantastic. After reading the Yelp reviews, I called Denny in to take a look at re-carpeting my stairs. The reviews are right on. Denny showed up on time, brought samples, helped me pick the right carpet for the job and gave me a price literally 1/3rd of the quotes from Costco, Abbey carpet and Empire. The following week he showed up at the time we scheduled, ripped out the old carpet and when he saw that the padding underneath was in good condition and didn't need replacing - offered to discount the price $80. The whole job was completed in a couple of hours, it looks great and I couldn't possibly have found a better deal. Save yourself the time and just call Denny from the get go. You wont find a more hardworking, honest guy or a better price anywhere. read more

I'm updating my review from a couple years back. I had a problem with a portion of the carpet seam that came up due to an over-aggressive vacuum cleaner. Danny came out and fixed the seam on a Sunday because it was the only day I could be home. He charged only a very modest fee for the fix, and luckily he had the same carpet in stock! Danny is the best. Try getting this kind of service from Home Depot or Lowes, or any of the corporate guys -- it would never happen. When you buy from Danny you deal with Danny only! The rave reviews here are very true. Denny is very professional. He and his staff did a great job carpeting our entire condo. His services are cheaper than anywhere else and he still does a great job. I bought the carpet and padding online which was delivered to his warehouse (He didn't have the SmartStrand carpet I wanted). He even kept a big sample of our old water damaged carpet for our insurance agent to look at and followed up later if I still needed the carpet (turned out I didn't need it so I just had him dispose it for no extra charge). Danny at DL Carpet is a great find. I had a flight of 29 stairs to carpet. DL Carpet brought samples to my house with many colors and kinds to choose from, the price was excellent and the quality superb. These stairs are not easy as there is a turn in them and no landing. DL installation quality is much better than previous experiences carpeting these stairs and the new carpet looks great. Danny returned calls quickly, he was always on time for appointments, and he was able to install on Saturday. DL carpet is great. read more

Okay, so my experience only involved a phone call and I tried REALLY hard to communicate with the person on the other end of the phone. Boy, what a disaster!!!!! I could not even explain what I wanted and have then understand. I tried to schedule an appointment with them and told them I cannot meet on the weekends but he kept offering my Sunday and Saturday times. I am hoping that this was a fluke for this company and that someone that should not have been answering phones was answering their phone today. I didn't actually shop around but reading other reviews he seemed like he had good prices and his quote for my room seemed very reasonable. He brought over a bunch of samples, and compared to big carpet companies probably didn't have as much of a selection( as someone else mentioned), but more than enough to suit my needs. He was very friendly and punctual (about 5 minutes before both scheduled times even). He gave me the price, no extra charges or fees came up up, and him and his friend banged it out in about an hour and a half. Good job ,smooth transaction, fast, reliable. Ok, Danni called me back and said he was out on vacation. Since then, my experience has been terrific! He came to my house a few days later, measured my bedroom and I picked up a carpet. Danni did not have the carpet in stock, but he promptly ordered it and it only took a week to arrive. Danni agreed to do the work on Sunday, so I did not have to take a day off. I found DL carpet on yelp and I called Denny on Thursday and he came by my house on a Saturday to give me an estimate. (Not every company will come to your home for a free estimate) His prices were cheaper than other places for sure! He didn't have a huuge selection of choices to choose from but that was fine because I was able to find something I like. I didn't pick a carpet I wanted that day because I wanted to shop around some more. After doing so, two other carpet companies couldn't beat his price and also weren't flexible with coming to my house for a quote. I called Denny back couple of days later and he came back out to my house the same evening with his samples so I can pick my carpet color. He installed the following week. I orginally scheduled him to come on a Wednesday but my hardwood floors weren't done so I had to push him back to Thursday. He was very accommodating and also finished in a couple of hours for two bedrooms. I would highly recommend Denny and would definitely use him again if I ever need carpet again. There might be a language barrier for some but if you are patient then you should be fine. read more

Based on Yelp reviews we called Danny to install new carpet and kitchen tile in an apartment. His quote was more than 30% less than another carpet company's quote. I came by Denny through Yelp. He had nearly all 5 stars, which was impressive. Fortunately, the stars didn't lie. We initially met on a Sunday afternoon (unheard of!), set for 2 p.m. He was here at the dot of 2:00, with a bunch of samples. Fifteen minutes later, I had chosen my carpet and paid the deposit. Denny said he'd call when the carpet arrived, in about two weeks, which was yesterday. Sure enough, he called in the afternoon and we set up an appointment for today at 9 a.m. At 8:45 he was at my door with his assistant. By 11:30, the carpet was installed--perfectly!
