The man at the toy counter was patient while I as a parent was about to lose my $hit with the kids not knowing what to pick for 35 minutes with their tickets. He made his job look easy bouncing around from parents coming in to handling the toy counter and answering questions etc. would do another party here and go just for day fun. Also no one got sick after going here which is a miracle in itself so they must do a good job of keeping things sanitized.

We ordered some drinks and sides while bowling and honestly the only complaint I have is just that for 3 people to do 3 hours of unlimited bowling, 3 drinks and 2 apps cost $120. This used to be a cheaper and fun way to spend time with the family but for that much it will not be something we will focus on coming back and doing again unfortunately. $23 per kid and shoe rental not included is just so pricey. Again everything was great but that really makes it hard to want to come back.

However, what really sold me were two things: (1) the customer service of the staff and (2) the arcade's strive for innovation and progression in enhancing the VR experience. The staff where very kind and accommodating, even with our large party of 7. They did their best to provide a wide range of games for us to play. In addition, after our time was up, my friends and I got to beta test their first multiplayer VR backpacks. Imagine being able to physically move around and play with your friends in an open space - awesome, right? This is a but a glimpse of what Escape VR at Oxford, MI can provide to the public. I'm only in Michigan for vacation this weekend, but this visit was the most memorable. But what comes with that is really cheap bowling, which is always my main motivation for going. Their concessions are shared with Izzy's. The advantage of this is that you can go between Izzy's and Apollo freely. If you're not into the bar scene and just want to bowl, then this poses a problem. My best friend used to belong to a league at Apollo. After he left, I used to bowl here with him for a while. I got to hear some of the interesting inside gossip about the place. The only thing I remember hearing about was that, because Apollo has been around forever, so has the staff, and as such they're stubborn. I never got any of this when I was there, but since he was there at least once a week for years and years, I'll take his word for it. Beware: it's not the most polished of bowling alleys, but it's not ghetto either. It's middle of the road, and that makes it comfortable.
