Instead, he read the crowd so well that he somehow got everyone onto the dance floor at a party that was not even supposed to be our big dancing event. One moment perfectly sums up how good he is. During my maid of honor's speech, she mentioned that I love One Direction and Zayn Malik. Immediately afterward, Raffi played "What Makes You Beautiful," and it was SUCH a hit. I had never put that song on any request list and honestly would not even have thought to ask for it, but in the moment it was exactly the right song. That is Raffi's superpower. He actually listens to what is happening in the room, understands the crowd, and knows what people want to hear before you even realize it yourself. We are also an Indian couple, and even though Raffi is not specifically an Indian DJ, he mixed Indian and Western music together seamlessly. At one point we had people doing bhangra on the dance floor and everyone was SO excited. He absolutely understood the assignment. He also has a fantastic announcer voice and MC presence, while still feeling natural and fun rather than over-the-top. And beyond being talented, he is just such a kind guy and incredibly easy to work with. He took a welcome party that we expected to be relatively chill and turned it into one of the most fun nights of our wedding weekend. I genuinely cannot recommend DJ Raffi more highly.

He responded right away to our email, provided a detailed document with his packages and pricing, and scheduled an introduction call to walk through our needs and budget. We got married at Silver Creek Valley Country Club and he has past experience working there for multiple weddings. We got along with him really well and decided to book him as our DJ/MC and included sound/lighting/photobooth/sparklers. PLANNING We had a 1 hour planning call 1 week before our wedding to walk through our timeline, script, important moments, music requests, lighting and music cues, and overall logistics to prepare on-site. We provided him our full song list and marked the ones that were on the do not play list. We also provided him practice videos of our dances and specific time cuts of our songs. He asked all the right questions and was very organized. We felt like we were in very good hands. ON-SITE Hieu and his crew arrived early to set up and were ready to go for the ceremony. We didn't run into any mic/audio issues that I'm aware of and everything sounded great. We were a bit behind on our schedule but Hieu was very flexible and patient as we quickly tried to speed up the program to get back on track. He was very dynamic and had a great entertainer's voice that was clear and easy to understand in both English and Vietnamese. He customized the lighting for different parts of the night and had a sick set up for our group dance that turned into open dancing. We requested a lot of 2010s EDM, hip hop and pop songs and everyone was on the dance floor the whole night! We asked him to play bangers the last hour and it was definitely a party! ADD-ONS: The cold sparklers were AMAZING! I 100% recommend getting them if your venue allows it. We had them light up during our first dance lift and group dance and everyone went crazy! The Magic Me photobooth was also super cool! We were able to customize the background, message and photo print design ahead of time and a team member was there to help take photos and keep the line moving. We received the digital photo gallery a few days later and it included both standard and animated GIF versions. BONUS: Their team took a super awesome video reel of our wedding highlights and posted on their social channels.
