I scheduled a car detailing with this company that was made over the phone. I received a text message reminding me of the appointment. I responded to this text cancelling the appointment and never had a response. I responded to the original text where the appointment was made and was told that no cancellation had been made. I provided the number of the text reminding me of the appointment. DJ's told me that number was only for reminders. I had no way of knowing that was the case. I was told that I should have sent a text to the original text number. There was no mention that this text could not receive responses. Due to this confusion, I proceeded to cancel this appointment. The owner said he wanted to continue with the appointment and we could discuss what had happened. When I continued to say no, that I wanted to cancel, I was told that there is a last minute cancellation fee. There was no mention of this when we spoke and no written contract stating this. It appears that the owner tried to strongarm me into keeping the appointment. If a company is going to use a separate number for confirmations, then it should have a disclaimer that that number will not accept responses. read more
