The long and short of it is that DJ MoJoe was the best wedding DJ and MC I've ever heard or witnessed from having attended a dozen or so weddings. Hire this man! We hired DJ MoJoe based on a referral from one of our other vendors. We spent a lot of time interviewing with wedding coordinators, florists, and caterers, but by the time we got down to hiring the DJ for our event, we were exhausted and looking for recommendations. When given DJ MoJoe's name, we checked his website and saw the care and level of attention put into it, a good sign that he'd treat our event the same way. So after a quick phone call and some emails, we hired him. It was one of the best decisions of our wedding. We only furnished him with a Spotify playlist and the instruction, "play standards during cocktails and dinner, then gradually ramp up the party jams as the night goes on." Joe took our meager playlist as a template and filled it in with his own picks that were consistently perfect for the mood of the party. You know that moment when you're on a dancefloor, and the song you love is ending, but then the DJ plays a song you didn't even think of but completely love, and it makes you lose your mind? This happened over and over again for myself and many other guests on the dancefloor. The man is a mind reader. Aside from his incredible selections, Joe is an outstanding MC. He's classy, funny, and stays off the mic unless it's important. He makes sure the event is about you, not him. I'm particularly sensitive to cheesy MCs/DJs, or ones who feel the need to interrupt the song so they can say something to the crowd, and DJ MoJoe was on the complete other end of the spectrum from that. He let the music do the talking and also kept the guests well informed about what was going on during the reception. He was perfect. After the party, he stuck around for some extra time so he could help breakdown the DJ area we rented, which was not his responsibility, and also played some nice closing-type music while guests left and others cleaned up. What impressed us the most were his youtube videos where we really got a sense of his personality and professionalism. We knew DJ MoJoe would be the perfect choice to DJ and MC our wedding. You should work with people you like. We really liked DJ MoJoe. He was always calm and humble, but had a lot of energy and kept things fun. Not only is he a great DJ, but a really awesome person. I'll break it down on how he was an amazing DJ for our wedding: Pre-event: Ok, so before we hired DJ MoJoe, we talked to him over the phone. It was a great conversation as he told us his philosophy on his services, which is to make sure everyone is having fun. Also, there was no pressure. We even mentioned how we spoke with this other DJ, and Joe was complimentary of the other DJ even though he knew that he was competing with him for our services. That truly shows his character. After the phone call, we scheduled an in-person meeting, and he was just as nice and humble as he was during the phone call. Before the event, we had another consultation to go over the details of what was to come which was also so helpful. Organization: If you want a well-organized DJ that takes off the stress from wedding planning, hire DJ MoJoe. My wife and I were so impressed with his electronic scheduler, electronic playlist and event timeline creator and just all the technology that he used to make sure he had all the details from the songs we like to the reception schedule to how to pronounce everyone's name. And if we ever wanted to speak with him, we could always call him or schedule a time to speak through his electronic scheduler. Equipment: You can really tell, he uses the best equipment. The sound equipment was of great quality. One thing my wife and I were debating about was uplighting. Our venue did it and so did Joe. We went with Joe and glad we did. He was able to change it to match the mood, which really made the party fun. Also, he had access to the TVs around the reception area and played various clips of videos which also added to the atmosphere. Actual Event: My family and friends love to party, and with DJ MoJoe, that is what we did. Not only was he an amazing DJ that played all the music we love (which is pretty diverse), but his MC skills really helped make the event go smoothly and kept everyone energized. The floor always had people dancing and he just really seemed to know what music to play at what time. We had a money dance and he helped time each dance with each person, which was very helpful. His online portal system is seem-less and makes it an absolute breeze to navigate through what song choices you'd like for what, or even what you would like to exclude. Our main concerns leading into the event prior to booking DJ MOJOE were making sure our wedding flowed, he paid attention to the songs we liked and played them, a good MC, good transitions between songs, and making sure the sound didn't go out during our ceremony. We had been to weddings where the speaker had over heated during the ceremony and the sound went out, people were waiting around for the next event during the reception, and a wedding where the bride mentioned the DJ barely played any songs she put on her playlist. Our wedding was at Green Gables where the company Trademark provided a set DJ list to choose from ranging between different prices. If you are on the fence about spending the money on DJ MOJOE or going for a cheaper DJ......DO IT. SPLURGE! SPLURGE! SPLURGE! My dad is a business man, and directly after the wedding he said, "the DJ was worth every dime and he was super professional". Being someone who often DJs friends dance parties or special events for fun it was super important to me to have a good DJ. My dads also one request within the wedding planning was a good DJ and MC -- DJ MOJOE killed both! We went to two weddings directly following our wedding, and everyone was complementing us on our DJ and song choices. They all said that our wedding was the most they had danced at a wedding! Once the dancing started you would look around, and not a single person was sitting down no matter their age. We were both super impressed by how professional he was, how punctual he was with emails, his MC skills, and his transitions between songs. He kept the crowd engaged no matter their age. He even made us a video of pictures of us from childhood to adulthood with pictures showing our relationship as well (he pulled this together in less than a week! Wow!). He made recommendations to throw a football with the garter, group tunnel for walk-ins to the reception while shouting off all of the names (we had 12 groomsmen and bridesmaids), and showing the video of us during the reception. DJ Mojoe scheduled 2 meetings with us prior to the wedding to ensure the time line was correct, and that we were on the same page of when we wanted each song to be played. We had a one rule for our wedding: Only choose genuine and authentic vendors who we could, and would, stay friends with after our big day. Unfortunately for us, when it came to finding a DJ, we were in trouble because nobody we knew had any recommendations for us. My then-fiance-now-husband, Nick, searched online and advertised at a few places. When DJ MoJoe's quote came back in a flurry of responses from various vendors, it stood out because of the cheesy, yet catchy name. I mean, who doesn't want to work with someone who has dubbed himself one who possesses "magical power"?! Also, because my husband's nickname since his freshman year in college has been "Wizard," I felt the universe was clearly telling us something. We quickly found DJ MoJoe's website and were pleased to see he had posted videos of himself working at various events and weddings. His vibe seemed alright and he was friendly enough, so we sent him a message asking to talk with him about our wedding. Before we knew it, we had a date setup that involved DJ MoJoe coming to us, 60 miles away from his home, to meet us for coffee one night. We were already impressed! When we met and talked about what we had planned for our big day, we quickly realized this guy was anything but cheesy. He was exactly what we were looking for - genuine and authentic. He was easy to talk to and laugh with. He was kind and open and listened to what you did and didn't want. It was obvious DJ MoJoe was committed to making our special day truly special. He understood we weren't just looking for a DJ, we were looking for a friend to entrust the soundtrack of our wedding to. And we found one. And you know he's a genuinely good dude when your guests come up to you afterwards and comment on the cool stories your DJ told! During the reception as we listened to music throughout cocktail hour and dinner, the groomsmen kept looking at each other with excited, but pained looks. You see, it was early in the night and the party was JUST getting started, and the music was already really, really good - almost too good. Nick and I were worried he was going to run out of hits! We both love to dance, as do all of our friends and family who were there. At one point, I turned to Nick during dinner and said, "I can't handle this. I need to dance right now!" The beats were that good. But each song was met with more excitement from us, and our guests. It just kept getting better! The dance floor was packed all night - our main goal for the evening. And it didn't stop until the end when we, unfortunately, had to call it a night. DJ MoJoe strikes that perfect balance between giving you what you want and reading between the lines. He listens to all of your ridiculous and conflicted requests, but also proactively fills in the blanks for what you didn't articulate. We didn't really give him a playlist, just a list of "recommended songs," and then we gave him full control of the music the entire night. And he delivered FULLY. Our life as husband and wife just began that night. Thanks to the perfect chorus of beats laid down by DJ MoJoe, we now have an incredible and special memory to cherish for the rest of our lives. I would have to say Dj Mojoe literally made our wedding what it was.... aka awesome and the best day of our lives. After researching other Djs, It didnt take long for us to decide he was "the one" after reading just a few reviews and speaking to him over the phone. We met in person about a year prior to our wedding and we booked him instantly after meeting with him. Words to describe Joe are extemely friendly, professional, confident, and last but not least extremely talented. We had our wedding at the Villa at Hummingbird Nest Ranch on June 22, 2018, abt 285 guests. He had actually DJ'd a wedding there in the past (Corbin Bleu) before which also was another comforting factor that he is fimilar with our venue. Tony and I followed him on social media and throughout the year, and just from his live video and regular posts on instagram, it got us so excited and pumped up for our own wedding. He is organized, extremely fast with his all his communication, listens to what his clients want but at the same time feels out what the crowd likes. Like nearly every wedding, we ran behind on our timeline. Joe was able to fill in the gaps to make things run smoothly. I dont think our guests even knew we were behind at all. While me and my husband were away for half an hour doing sunset photos (abt an hour behind the planned schedule), and he opened up the dance floor with some good tunes so people can start dancing if they pleased during dinner. We loved this and were so glad he did that :) As for his MC skills... also super great. He is energetic and knows exactly what to say to pump up the crowd. He came prepared with his equiptment and set up on time. Like I said, we were behind on our timeline like most weddings which was stressful because I thought we would have to cut our important events. Joe made everything run smoothly and fit in everything we planned: speeches from 5 people, cake cutting, father/daughter & mother son dance, bouquet and garter toss, chair lift (that i specifically wanted), montage slideshow, spakler send off while STILL having more than enough time for the Ultimate Dance Party. Our ceremony was from 3-4, with a 2 hour break in between, and reception from 6pm- 12:30am. While most people would be tired by 10pm or so, Joe was able to keep most of our guests until the very end. Our only regret is not booking the venue for a longer time because people did not want to stop dancing!!! You can tell DJ Mojoe genuinely ENJOYS his job because it shows. I spotted DJ MoJoe last year at Art Walk. He was DJ'ing outside an art exhibit. After listening to a few of his sets, I knew I had to have him DJ'ing my wedding a year away. After I got in contact with Joe, I realized that he was incredibly professional, efficient and tasteful. From his website to his 1 on 1 meetings, he was definitely one of our top vendors. Joe suggested meeting up so that we could go over what our needs were. He even took a walk through of our venue site so that he could get an idea for lighting and sound system. I recently had my wedding over Labor Day weekend. Two things that people kept complimenting me on were 1) the amazing food and 2) the amazing music. Music for me is EXTREMELY important. Both Joe and I feel that it's what sets the mood and gets the party going. He was able to tailor my song choices the way I liked them. He even edited and customized important songs for me such as groomsmen and bridesmaids walking in, garter toss, cake cutting and bouquet toss. 1/3 of our guests came from Canada and now some of my recently engaged friends are asking and considering about flying him up for their wedding! Joe was amazing at our wedding that just happened on May 26, 2018. He was referred to us through my sister-in-law who worked for PawWorks and he has DJ'd their gala fundraising events on multiple occasions and she said she wished she had hired him for her wedding because everyone at their events always has a great time with and the energy is high. Our venue we had our wedding at had a preferred DJ list and if we got someone else to DJ outside of their preferred list we had to pay an extra fee. So before we met with Joe we had received quotes from the other DJs, and their prices were super outrageous and overpriced for what they were providing, and I wasn't really impressed with the DJs on the list. We met with Joe soon after before we decided to book him and we instantly knew we wanted to book with him. Joe's quote for his DJ and MC services were reasonable in comparison to all the other DJ's we had contacted and we had heard so many good things about him already, so I think it was truly was meant to be! (We even paid for outside vendor fee, but it was all worth it) When the wedding got closer, I was super stressed out and basically gave him my playlist very last minute through Spotify, and also gave him all of our songs for the dances (First Dance, Mother/Son, Father/Daughter), processional, recessional, walk down the aisle. He was super easy to talk to and we also told him the general idea of what kind of music to play besides the songs on the Spotify playlist we made. I had no idea what songs to play during our cake cutting, bouquet toss, and garter toss since my wedding planner indicated on our timeline that we needed song choices, so we left those up to Joe to have creative freedom and choose them and he picked out some great songs that I would've never thought of to play. I sent him two songs that weren't on spotify that I wanted to play during the processional and me walking down the aisle. He met with us on our final walkthrough of the venue, along with my wedding planner a few weeks before the wedding to see the setup of the venue, and where he could set up his DJ equipment, and where deliveries would be. During the wedding before the grand entrance, he came around to the wedding party and wanted to double check and make sure he was saying everyone's name correctly (we just had him say first names as it's easier than saying everyone's last name) - and made sure he was saying my husband and I's name correctly as well. The grand entrance was perfect, and he had every one of our guests spinning around their napkins during our grand entrance, which was a nice touch! Everything went so smoothly at the wedding and Joe was just wonderful. I had told him prior went to end the mother/son dance and my first dance songs to fade out since we weren't doing the whole track, and for the father/daughter dance everyone came and joined in on the dance floor because we did a fun dance! The energy on the dance floor was amazing, and we even had a conga line start. Everyone kept on telling us how great of a time they had, and they really loved the DJ! DJ MOJOE was beyond amazing. He was the DJ at our wedding 3/27 and he KILLED IT. He helped the flow of the night and got everyone's attention so well for the wedding traditions. He knew which songs to play and when and seriously did not miss a beat. We are so thankful we chose him and we even extended our time with him for an EXTRA 2 hours because we were having so much fun. DJ MoJoe was absolutely amazing! It was important for us to set a certain mood with the music at the reception and DJ MoJoe made sure that the music was bumping the whole night - even the bar and wait staff at the reception venue were having a good time dancing and singing along to the music. His client portal is probably one of the best things we've seen. It allowed us to plan out the reception without having to send a million emails back and forth. Not only did he make sure that he had all the details down (such as the correct pronunciations for all the names), he also visited the venue before the wedding to make sure he familiarized himself with the place. His prices are great and he definitely gives you his best on the day of. All our other vendors were impressed by him as well and said that he was one of the best DJs they have worked with. read more

DJ Mojoe is awesome! He took the time to meet us the day before the wedding at our hotel to go over the slideshow music in person and every other detail. We found him on Thumbtack and he also provided the uplighting for our reception. His client portal is pretty outstanding and he's up to date with Spotify so he can find all the songs that you want played at your wedding. He worked well with our coordinator and my husband really liked how he felt the crowd and played the fav part of this Apache song on a loop for more dance time. He also played my fav K-pop music and I'm glad we took YMCA off the banned list because it was a big hit. DJ Mojoe only plays clean songs and is a great entertainer. He's easy to work with and I would highly recommend him. My guests and husband commented how he really loves his job and it shows - super high energy and he listens well. He met with me and my husband two times before the wedding to show us his online wedding form, that helps couples select all the important music-related details, and again to go over our final selections and make sure we were on the same page. The form has lots of fun ideas for your wedding too, I'm sure most couples haven't thought of, like games, trivia, etc. during any scheduled down time. I was referred to DJ MOJOE through a friend and he was awesome! From the very beginning, he was very responsive and easy to communicate with. We got on several phone calls, exchanged text messages, and had a sit-down meeting discussing how my wife and I envisioned our wedding. He gave us a ton of song suggestions from his experience and expertise. Planning was very easy, especially with his client portal and questionnaire. Everything about the wedding day was covered in it, plus some additional wedding entertainment suggestions for us to consider. He accommodated the fact that my wife and I have different cultures and played music from each. More importantly, he was able to read the guests' vibe and we gave him the flexibility to cater to it with his music selection. DJ MOJOE gave me a lot of confidence that he would be great. He did a venue walk through with the coordinator to feel it out and told me that it had everything he needed to make the wedding awesome. Our ballroom got a huge aesthetic upgrade with up-lights that he spread around the room. I definitely recommend these if it fits your venue. On the day-of, he got there early with his assistant to set up, get our officiant mic-ed up, and chat with me. The whole experience with DJ MOJOE was perfect. If I could give DJ MoJoe 100 stars, I would. Joe is an absolute joy to work with. He is so knowledgable and truly understood our vision for our wedding. Additionally, Joe was so understanding and accommodating to our wedding needs. We were originally going to have our wedding in June 2020 at a hotel, but due to COVID-19, we had to completely rearrange our plans. We ended up having a small backyard wedding in October 2020. Joe was so flexible and understanding in helping us move our date. Joe even helped us display our slideshow and wedding video so our guests could watch.
