Okay, guys, Mark Huntzinger knows how to keep a party going…read more I have NEVER seen my friends and family dance so much in their lives. The dance floor was kickin' all night, and Mark managed to make an impression on pretty much everyone there. He contributed to our wedding perfectly, and truly do not think it would be been so fun if he was not there. Just, perfect. So, that's only part of it - that's right, there's more. Sure, the wedding day he's INCREDIBLE at what he does, but we cannot forgot all the fantastic advice, planning help and expertise he lends out the months before the wedding. My husband and I were totally clueless as to a proper timeline to a wedding, but Mark spelled it all out for us in black and white and made sure to give us great advice on "what works and what doesn't." This is clearly a man who knows his weddings, and I would recommend him to every single person I know. Seriously amazing work, at a ridiculous value for the money.

My mother still talks about him and how he really made our wedding such a memorable and fun event. He looked at our reception as a whole and gave great advice on many aspects of planning that we might not have otherwise considered, and was willing to work with our budget. He is an engaging person, and kept everyone on the dance floor with different dancing games, but always stayed incredibly professional and unassuming, letting the wedding party and the couple be the focus. He was a huge part of making our big day run smoothly and on time, and the main reason that so many of our guests told us that it was the most fun wedding they'd ever been to. I wish we could have that kind of party again! I would definitely recommend him to any friend getting married in San Diego.

The first time I met Dennis it was clear he knew his stuff. I had a list of DJ's and even some…read moremeetings set and when I left I cancelled every one. He was the DJ at our August 2013 wedding and I couldn't be happier. The reason our night was as amazing as it turned out was in a large part due to Dennis. He is an incredible emcee and the night flowed so smoothly. There was never a dull moment. The thing that impressed me the most is that when my husband and I finally sat down at our sweetheart table he asked if he could get us a drink. SERIOUSLY?! Come on guys, that is rare and just seriously amazing. I had a few unique requests that didn't even phase Dennis! The most important to me was meshing two very different songs for my father/daughter dance. I wanted to dance to one song, more of a pop-type with my biological father and to a country song with my step dad, not an easy thing to mash-up! I also wanted the two to fade into each other and be cut down so the dance wouldn't be two full songs. The final product blew my mind, it was perfect. He even slowed down the country song so that it was more "danceable." The way he invited my step-dad out to the floor was classy and casual, it wasn't an awkward moment which was what I was concerned about. He absolutely did EXACTLY what I asked for. I got countless comments on the way the evening flowed. With Dennis you get way more than a DJ, he is an amazing emcee. So many people told me it was the most fun wedding they'd ever been to. The music was SPOT on all night, it was a blast. The dance floor was constantly packed and even my older relatives were out there dancing because the music didn't alienate them. My husband and I told Dennis all we wanted was for people to have fun and dance, and they did all night. He found a way to satisfy everyone's music tastes (even though I like country, my husband likes reggae and my parents like classic rock!). Last minute we sprung for some up-lighting. It isn't my style to go outlandish and I was worried it would be too expensive, but I wanted the room to have a little something extra. Not only was the pricing totally reasonable, but Dennis actually made us a custom light color to match our accent color in the table linens. The room was bathed in a soft glow and looked absolutely perfect. He goes so far above and beyond what you'd expect from a run-of-the-mill DJ, and that's simply because he isn't one! (I don't think I'm being biased but) our wedding was hands down the most fun event I've ever been to and I think a large part of that is because of Dennis. He made us so comfortable and the night flowed perfectly because of his emcee talents. Do yourself a favor and stop looking for a DJ and book Dennis. You won't get one of those cheesy wanna-be comics trying to steal the stage from the couple. What you get is a truly professional DJ and emcee who REALLY knows his stuff (seriously just ask him for music suggestions and prepare to have your mind blown!).

We instantly liked his personality and he sounded like he knew his stuff. When we got home, we checked out his website, and I could tell my husband really liked the stuff he saw. We ended up scheduling an appointment with him to talk more details and to decide whether we would book him for our wedding in May. He was prompt, had sample music for us, and had great suggestions for music for the ceremony and the reception. I loved that he was so professional and organized and even had a wedding worksheet for us to fill out as homework to guide both him and us for what music should be played and how the night would be played out. We hired him and we are happy that we did. DJ Dennis is a REAL DJ. Not just one that plays a playlist from an iPod. We had a chance to see him spin during the dancing hour, and it was fun for us and our guests to watch. He had a great feel for crowd and had everyone dancing, young (6 years old) and old (80 years old)!!! We met beforhand to talk about generalities, he drove up to San Clemente the night of the rehearsal to check out the site and test sound, then was on hand all day of the wedding for last-minute changes or requests. It was so great to have all of the music, equipment and lighting come from the same trusted vendor. He found a super obscure instrumental song for us, and played everything we wanted! He created a custom playlist for us, and didn't play anything "cheesy" or cliche (very important to me). He also knew exactly what to do to get everyone on the dance floor! Randy made our day everything we wanted - unique, individual and above all, fun!

I never thought to critique a DJ, but stumbled down a Yelp rabbit hole that led me to another DJ…read morereview posted by another Yelper; thus I searched out this one and here be a page. Who knew? I attended a party recently where this DJ was performing. I never even thought of doing a critique of DJs, at the rare festivities I've attended over the years, because most play all the recent pop hits that annoy me. This DJ mixed it up well, not just playing the noted pop (and intermittent rap), but old school (classic) rock (which is my preference); so I wasn't hating the whole time. A DJ needs to feel and know their crowd. When one is playing music that gets folks out on the dance floor (in this case being classic rock) they need to stick with it a little longer before completing switching gears. This DJ did just that. I get it, there are those that like that latest music too and you need to fulfill their needs. The change ups of music styles did not annoy me so much, as other DJs have done to me in the past. If you desire to have a DJ at your function you better have a detailed discussion with them about your expectations, before and during. This DJ appeared well versed in many genres, including a little country as I recall. If he travels to your neck of the woods give him an interview and determine if he would meet those expectations. This review is long winded, but so be it - haha OUT!
