Greg was our DJ for our ~110 person wedding in Aug 2023. Our family used him and his dance crew as the DJ for my brother's bar mitzvah in 2013, and so 10 years later, I found myself looking for a DJ for my wedding. Greg and his crew which incredibly helpful, professional, and warm all throughout the process. The first time we met to discuss, he provided a lot of great recommendations on things to think about or look out for (for example, location of the dance floor in the room, tying music into speakers in other areas of our venue, etc). He provided a great platform where we could add our music recommendations. Leading up to the event, he was generous with his time, coming to meet myself, my wedding coordinator, and a few other vendors at the venues. Day of, everything went off without a hitch -- the tech worked really well, he amped up our space with uplights, and -- most importantly -- he was an incredible DJ and emcee for our event!! He played a wide array of fun music, kept the crowd up and dancing, and made any announcements we asked him to give short & sweet. As example, one of my friends mentioned that they'd been to an Israeli wedding the weekend before where the Hora didn't work too well, and she even pointed out how awesome Greg was at keeping everyone involved & excited with the custom. If you are even considering Dj Greg, just hire him. He's amazing. He's kind and thoughtful and patient and really made our bat mitzvah shine. We had some snafus (on our end, because teenagers are still teenagers after all) and he rolled with it and made them disappear. The kids loved his games. The music was great and on point. We used Greg last night for our son's bar mitzvah and he was outstanding. He made an amazing agenda. He helped with an amazing floor plan and the night was a huge success. He not only is he a great DJ but he gets all of the kids engaged and playing games and pumped up and having fun. The party pumpers were excellent as well. He wasn't just a DJ he really did run the room very well and reminded people to go to the photo booth and reminded people what they were supposed to be doing. I first heard about MIP when I was planning my wedding in 2014. They came highly recommended by the Hyatt Regency La Jolla and after a meeting with DJ John Sanchez and after a few phone conversations with Greg Rackley, my wife and I decided to go with them. We spent time with DJ John and created a playlist for the evening and even paid extra for purple uplighting. Fast forward to late June 2014 when my wife and I got married. The DJ set up his equipment ahead of time, however, he forgot the purple uplighting that I paid extra for (which I ended up getting a credit for when I called their office). My wife and I thought he did a great job being an emcee as well as a DJ, however, a few female guests told my wife and I the next day that he kept staring at them and made them uncomfortable. This was reported to the company at the same time as the purple uplighting credit. Wow! I can't believe how amazing my daughter's bat mitzvah was. Greg and his team had the place lit up and gorgeous. From the get go. He provided dj services for both my sister's wedding and mine, and at both events had almost everyone on the dance floor the whole night! He is very professional, and not at all corny like some wedding dj's. A bad dj can ruin your event, and we felt so much more comfortable going into our wedding knowing we had Greg at the helm. We've hired Greg at Maximum Impact for all three of our kids' Bar/Bat Mitzvahs -- in 2013, 2015, and this year in 2017. Greg has always been absolutely terrific at getting our guests dancing. He knows how to organize the evening, and he carefully planned each music set and kids games to coordinate with the reception, meal, dessert, etc. Greg knows when to play the kids music and the adult music, and is also excellent at getting both adults and kids onto the floor and onto his stage at the same time. He is very engaging and personable. My daughter's Bat Mitzvah was exactly 2 years late, and the first thing I did upon finding out the date of her event was hire Greg. No party is complete without him. He keeps the party going so well. For both of my events, he met with me beforehand to create the perfect timeline and agenda, customized to my needs. I created some "special moments" with my kids and guests and Greg helped with appropriate props and preparation. The lighting was great, the props were fun. The kids all have a BLAST with his games, and kids and adults alike wore themselves out dancing on the dance floor. His dancers are phenomenal and help keep the party going. Patrick from Maximum Impact "made" my 60th birthday party a super fun celebration. A DJ can really make, or break, a party. A girlfriend just said the other night that, while attending a reception, their DJ chatted through the middle of the songs, and did not play any party music during the entire evening! My family and friends have used MI (Greg) for about 5 events. They have all been SO much fun. But, alas, I still had to make a couple of inquiries for price comparison etc. Well, after my 2nd call to a DJ competitor, I found out that the Maximum Impact prices were in line.
