She brings a relevant style that doesn't surrender classical beauty for current fads. Her ability to provide florals for an immense variety of locations and needs is a testament to her skill and eye for design. Not only did she handle classic bouquets, center pieces, and boutonnieres, she also created beautiful flower boxes and a wonderful floral piece for the wood house we were married under. We highly recommend Kimberly for any wedding (or other event!) in Southern California.

In addition, 5 minutes into meeting her, I immediately fell in love with her super warm personality, huge smile and her clear ability to take my vision and bring it to life with her choice in flowers, colors and styling. This was especially important since florals were one of our top priorities for our Garden wedding. Kimberly first created our engagement photo bouquet prior to our wedding (breathtaking), and then on the day of, she delivered ridiculously amazing family-style table centerpieces, our bride and groom chair decor, and our impeccably styled chuppah, which my husband and I were married under. And the bridal bouquet -- I still have no words. It was more incredible than anything I had dreamed of!! Needless to say, the florals completely stole the show all night, and they were talked about weeks after our wedding. She went above and beyond with every single piece of her work. We could not have been happier and more in awe with it all!! Kimberly is passionate about working closely with her clients and building the relationship to deliver florals that feel so personal and fitting. There was a miscommunication on farmtables not having linen and Laura immediately got the linen for me. I had so much decor and it was all placed perfectly. Every detail was exactly as it should be! They also have the best vendors - they got pipe & drape for me, they got a white dance floor for me, they got marquee letter for me, their DJ Jason Lyons was so chill and had great vibes, and Jerri their florist is THE BEST! EcoCaters the caterer was also amazing and delicious! I am a serious Type A bride who had every tiny detail planned and made complicated, and Epic Events was able to bring my vision to life! Since I already had my vendors and most major details sorted out, I was strictly looking for a coordinator to help me the week/day of our wedding to make it all come together and to relieve any internal stress/anxiety I was surely about to have (note: we had recently moved cross-country from San Diego to FL months before we came back to SD for the wedding...thank you, U.S. Navy.) I was recommended Before I Do Events from a fellow friend and was lucky enough to meet Elena Donnelly. To echo a lot of the other reviews, I cannot say enough great things of Elena and her team for what they did for us that special day. While I'm sure we were not their most complicated, I'd like to think our traditional Catholic and Military wedding put some curve balls into the mix. Elena and her team did an exceptional job from prepping the church, to working hand in hand with each venue coordinator, to making sure the vendors and guests had seamless access to the military base (where our reception was held) to dealing with a difficult reception room layout/setup, transporting/setting every table center piece since I shipped most of it and had it staged in our hotel room (and yes, I did my own flower arrangements because I'm insane!) down to the littlest details of making sure we and the bridal party had sandwiches for lunch on the trolley as we ran around SD taking pictures in between the ceremony and reception. The timing of the day was tight and it went in a blink of an eye but it was flawless and for the first time ever (it's hard for me to not be in control of everything) I handed over command to someone that I truly trusted and felt confident would excel in executing every last task of our big day. Day-of Coordination: Elena stood out not only on the wedding day but also in the months leading up to it. She was incredibly helpful during the planning process--offering thoughtful insight into creating a seamless timeline and even helping with ideas for decor and place settings tailored to our outdoor, beachy (and occasionally windy!) wedding. She thought of every detail, from preparing us in advance to get those dreamy photos (like the first kiss and cake cutting) to ensuring everything ran on schedule without a hitch. On the day, Elena was a true lifesaver. From the rehearsal to the ceremony and reception, I never once had to worry about where I needed to be or what was next. She kept everything moving smoothly, pointing me in the right direction while allowing me to fully enjoy the company of our guests and the magic of the day. And she always made sure we were taken care of (never without a drink in hand!). Her leadership and attention to detail made it all so effortless for us. I booked her early and we initially just did a couple meetings to discuss our vision and needs regarding coordination, vendor contracts and florals since we did not need a full-planning service, only partial. She was always upfront and gave me honest opinions especially when it came to where to splurge and save, and what could look good and what wouldn't. The last 2 months is where she really shined, helping us follow up with vendors on details, setting deadlines for me to book rentals, reviewing contracts and constantly doing sanity checks when I needed it. The day of, she came extremely prepared, everything flowed smoothly (except some technical issues on part of the venue) and she was great at going with the flow and just letting the vibe and natural mood of the day go, and fixing whatever problems I threw at her. We also had her as our florist and she truly out did herself- her prices were incredibly reasonable and she handled everything like a champ when her assistant got sick the day of the reception. She also took my back and forth floral design suggestions and changes very well, as I am quite particular on details in some areas and deferred to her expertise in others. Honestly could not have done it without her and she was without a doubt my #1 worth it vendor! Would absolutely hire her for all your wedding planning and floral needs.
