No gravy with the Chicken Strips Dinner
    Danny J.

We were staying at the Crowne Plaza so we thought we would Door Dash. I ordered the chicken strip meal that comes with chicken stripes, fries, toast, and gravy. When I got my meal and opened it the first thing I noticed was no gravy. That's the only reason I ordered this meal was so I could dip my chicken, toast, and fries in the gravy. Now all I had was a box of cold fries, dry chicken, and soggy toast. DQ always adds the grace to their chicken strip basket. To say I was disappointed is an understatement, I was very angry because I couldn't say, you forgot to add the gravy at the counter.

I hate giving a bad review, but the Dizzy Whizz is just not living up to its history. The service was just OK. The staff were yelling at each other and seemed frustrated. I waited about 15 mins for my food, and you can tell from the picture, the burger patty's didn't even cover the bun. The restaurant is old and seems dirty... and the neighborhood is not the greatest after dark. I'm sure this place was fantastic in 1947... but not so much in 2025.

Great burger and onion rings! Stopped by this cool little burger joint in downtown Louisville on our drive back up to Ohio from down south.

Big Whiz breakfast. Three eggs, 4 bacon, hashbrowns, toast with a side of sausage gravy.

Small little local places like this are becoming exstinct. Dizzy Whiz has been around for quite some time, and I know why... Consistent quality and quantity. You can park and curb order, eat inside or order to go. You can even call in your order for pick up. You can watch most of your order being prepared, which I liked very much. Portions are adequate for the price. (except that side of gravy) Give this small diner a try if your downtown!

You order at the window, take a buzzer, get your drinks and find somewhere to sit. We (a party of 4) showed up around 11 on a Sunday morning and the line was already out the door. We had a hard time deciding what to order because everything we saw coming out before us looked just as delicious as the last. After the owner greeted us and gave a run down while in line, we settled on the shrimp and grits, steak and eggs, bread pudding french toast with a side of bacon, and a chicken and bacon croissant sandwich. (I wanted to order the biscuits and gravy weekend feature but they were already sold out.) The girl at the register was polite but very soft spoken so we had trouble hearing what she said. The coffee was the perfect temperature for drinking immediately without scalding yourself, and the different flavorings and types of milk/cream to choose from was a major plus! There were no complaints about any of our food except the steak was a bit under seasoned. I had the french toast, and, in my opinion, is enough for 2 people. There was a bit too much whipped buttercream for me but I was able to rake off majority, and the fruit that came on top was so fresh! The bacon was thick sliced and 3 of my 4 pieces were cooked perfectly to my liking - not too crispy, not too soft! We all were part of the clean plate club after eating because the food was that good! I wished now we would have taken pics of our food before eating! It's a shame it came up as #16 on my Yelp search because it wasn't even the least bit on my radar for our breakfast spot. The restaurant has a back parking lot and on street parking - the restaurant is quite large with two indoor seating areas and outdoor patio seating. The menu is large with a big brunch menu, lunch and entree options and kid's menu. We started with the s'mores hot chocolate and apple cider mimosas. The hot chocolate was pipping hot and delicious topped with toasted marshmallows. The apple cider mimosas had a weird flavor, I would recommend going with another fruit juice option. We ordered the kids buttered noodles with waffle on the side - big wide noodles that were swimming in butter. My son thought it was too much butter but loved the type of noodles. The waffle was good - not very sweet but he enjoyed it. My daughter loved the chicken and waffles entree, but I thought the portion was a bit small for an adult entree. The chicken was freshly breaded but the waffle was on the smaller side. The sandwiches and soups were delicious - we had the club which was filled with ham and turkey and the perfect amount of mayo. The tomato soup was creamy and so satisfying. The Ruben was a good size and stuffed with corned beef and melty cheese! Overall we had a great experience- a bit on the pricey side. The orange juice was amazing super fresh, natural, and sweet. The cinnamon roll was good (not the best I've ever had, but still enjoyable). The food overall was solid. The banana bread French toast was really good, the eggs were cooked well, and the biscuits and gravy were also very tasty. When it's said "they don't make them like this anymore", this place is what they mean. Ornate, elaborate and straight out of another era. I didn't stay at the Brown, so don't know what the rooms are like but if the lobby is an indication, I think it would be pretty cool. Stopped into J. Graham's on a Weds afternoon at 12:30. It was about half full. Service is quick and friendly. From looking around the room, it seemed that most people ordered the Hot Brown even though there is an extensive menu of other options. The Hot Brown is an open-faced turkey sandwich. A thick slice of turkey is served over thick-sliced bread. The turkey is covered with mornay (béchamel with Gruyère cheese), topped with bacon, sprinkled with parmasean and broiled in a gratin-dish, served with a roasted tomato. It's gooey and cheesy, turkey moist and tender, bacon crisp. Very hearty, very filling. Unique, definitely worth trying. Not sure I'm having another one, but glad I experienced it.

I went to Foko after hearing nonstop hype about it being one of the absolute best breakfast spots…read morein Louisville. The place is positioned as this incredible Mexican breakfast destination, so I figured it had to be something special. Turns out it's just standard Mexican food and drinks. Even if they were using using "the freshest most highest quality ingredients", it doesn't show in the final product at all. Heres what i got: The Espresso Martini ($14) was actually decent--nice and foamy with a solid chocolate note. The Carajillo ($8), on the other hand, was weak. It tasted like plain iced coffee with zero detectable alcohol. I wouldn't order it again. The Wake Up Burrito $14: their biggest hype item. I got it and added chorizo for $3.50, bringing the total to nearly $17.50. It's sausage, cheese, eggs, and beans wrapped up--pretty good, but nothing groundbreaking. Without their green sauce it's completely average, no different from any regular breakfast burrito at a diner. The green sauce itself is what really the only saving grace, but they serve it in tiny thimble-size portions like they're guarding some secret recipe. So for $18 you get a medium-size burrito plus a couple of fried tortillas with cheese on the side. Compare that to mexican spot like Bandito, where the burritos are twice the size and cost much less. This one is seriously overrated. The Chilaquiles - I got the side order of these with the burrito, and were average at best. Just fried tortillas with cheese and a little sauce that had a slightly sour edge. Not bad, but nothing I'd call amazing. I thought to myself, if these had egg and beans(what the main dish has) , would I have been glad to pay $17? The answer is no. Ive had better at the airport. Bottom line: Foko is incredibly overrated. It feels like a tourist trap built for people for those Luisville people who who don't eat much Mexican food and think this is the pinnacle. I get it, the decor is nice and gives that "premium" feel but the prices are way too high for what you actually get. I won't be back.
