Outdoor seating for fall early evenings late afternoons

Salt and pepper catfish hands down all the time . I didn't even get to finish writing my review before my order was already coming across the counter done crazy fast. I got the order to go so I'm not really whatever about the ambiance even though it seems like it's nice if you wanted to sit down and enjoy a meal . I didn't even get a chance to take photos as my order was already coming across the counter, but that's a good thing right ?

We are new to this small NC town and slowly trying the local eateries. Stopped by Dixie's today and was pleasantly surprised how tasty the food was in this fast food restaurant. The food came fast and was nice and hot. The sweet tea was perfectly- great color, tea flavor and not overly sweet. They also have nugget ice for those who love to crunch ice like me! I had a grilled chicken breast sandwich that was plump and juicy. Many side options and I selected the fried squash which was thick sliced and lightly battered. On her own, the waitress brought a side of ranch dressing for squash dipping which was a delicious treat. She checked on me several times and was very attentive. Turns out it was her birthday and she couldn't have been nicer. Gotta love living in the south! I've heard from many in the area the seafood (all fried) is delicious. A man in line told me he drives 20 miles just to get the fish. I'll be back!

London-style fish-n-chips, $9.95

Lots to choose from at Dixie's Fish and Chicken including po' boys, burgers and dogs. So much, I recommend studying before arrival. Order at the counter and wait for your food delivery at your table. Simple. We panicked at the choices and both ordered London-style Fish and Chips. Wished later one of us ordered a chicken dinner or burger to sample from each other. While the fish was piping hot, as were the fries and hush puppies, the fish did not meet the criteria of London-style. More Captain D's, or Arthur Treacher's for you old schoolers. The batter was too thick and wicked up the fry oil like a sponge. Our service was wonderful and although stretched due to short staffing, they continued to turn up the smiles and keep things rolling. Much appreciated. In the mood for some quick food served hot by smiling people? Give Dixie's a whirl.

I stopped in for a quick lunch to-go today. The drive-thru line was fairly long so I decided to go in. There were only a few people ahead of me and the cashier was moving pretty fast. She was extremely nice and seemed knowledgeable as she had to been doing this for years. After I finished placing my order a customer walked up to the register asking about her order because she had been waiting over 20 minutes. Ooops, they had skipped over her and she had small children waiting. The cashier immediately requested they expedited the lady order and she refunded her money. I hoped they didn't skip over mine because I only had 20 minutes to return to work. Luckily 3 minutes later my order was ready. I ordered the catfish sandwich, fries & drink for less than $10 bucks and my food was fresh, hot and delicious. I ate in the car and made it back to work on time.

sparkly clean dining room (my fork and napkin)

Wasn't really expecting much, wasn't disappointed. Clean comfortable dining room, wooden chairs at tables on the left, booths against the windows on the right, plus tables out of doors if you're so inclined. 4 honey-drizzled chicken tenders on a waffle are a little underwhelming; moist and tender on the inside, crispy and honey on the outside but I'm thinking I need a little something besides, maybe greens? or corns? or pintos? I suppose it's good enough but kinda spendy on the value meter*. The rest of the menu looks to be in line with other snack shacks in the left carolina low country so I'll probably be back for another go at victuals. * Generally speaking C&W from anywhere is starting to look like a food prank at my expense, kinda like shrimp toast which I also like.

Lots of dark wood, dark green upholstery, and Irish Knick-knacks/advertisements/decor, plus traditional Irish music playing. There is also rooftop seating. I ordered the Lavender Gin Spritz from the seasonal cocktail menu, along with a starter of Bread and Butter (homemade Irish Brown Bread with a selection of freshly made butters) and The Orchard Salad topped with grilled chicken. The salted butter was definitely my favorite with the bread but it was fun to try the sweet maple cinnamon butter and savory fresh herb butter. Our food arrived lightning fast. Unfortunately the kitchen was out of apples, which would have added a nice crunch and tang to the salad, but I just sipped my drink (which was not lavender forward) to get that "bite" instead. Service was friendly and fast.

I tried the buffalo chicken wrap and was not disappointed. It was a nice day out, so we decided to sit out on their patio, which was the best decision. Although the patio isn't huge, it is still setup nicely so that you don't feel like you're sitting on top of others. I definitely plan on returning in the near future to work my way through their menu.

I didn't realize that I'd not written a review of this fine seafood spot for quite a while now…read more This is the premier fried seafood spot in triad area in my opinion, stretching from Mebane to Mocksville, from the Virginia line in the north to at least Salisbury in the south. I stop in here for lunch at least twice a month. This is a family operation that began in 2006 when George Paloumbas remodeled a John Deere dealership building, turning it into a casual seafood restaurant, that at the time was in the middle of nowhere. Despite the location, the restaurant prospered, attracting folks from Burlington to Mocksville, and north to the Virginia line, south to Salisbury! Jimmy Shipman, the current general manage, had been a customer for a number of years, often dining with his grandmother. He started busing tables there about 2015, married George Paloumbas' daughter, Maria, in 2019, and was made general manager in 2020. He guided the restaurant through the Covid time frame by concentrating on providing efficient take out orders. He had to hire someone to direct the traffic, it was so popular. This is certainly a family and community operation - a number of the employees have Been there for years, and much that the restaurant sells is sourced in the region. Seafood from Todd's Seafood in Thomasville, and deserts from Cake & All Things Yummy. I almost always get fried seafood, although the Broiled Captain's Platter is very nice as well. My favorite item is the bone-in croaker!

Yummmm!!! I'm always happy when I get to go eat seafood at The Seafood Shack in Walkertown!…read more Be ready for a small wait if it's a Sunday afternoon. It gets quite busy. The wait is worth it. The onion rings are good - I forgot to request extra crispy, but since I didn't finish them, I took them home and used the air fryer to rewarm them the next day. Man they were greasy (thank you air fryer for caring for my arteries)!!! But very crisp like I like. I'm not one for a lot of batter in my seafood, so I opted for the salt & peppered version. It's a lot lighter and tastes good seeing it is the only seasoning you'd need on fish. This visit I opted to try the broiled jumbo shrimp with my combo (with an up charge) and I'm so glad I did!! I think next time I'll get a broiled platter and skip the fryer! Seasoning was delicious!! #OldBay Looking forward to another visit soon.
