Country Fried Steak w/Gravy over rice with collard greens and snap peas with a roll.

Very good local place to eat. They have daily specials like to choose from. It was wonderful, but it's hard to break from my favorite dish. The mushroom and Swiss burger with bacon with a side of tots. Don't let the age of the building put you off. The cooking is top notch. This restaurant has been in the area for a long time. Give it a try.

This is a old ma and pa spot the only reason they don't get a 5 because they don't take plastic . The food is handmade and no processed food definitely would recommend if in the area

A sign over the bar. Good food, cold beer, good times!

You enter. You breathe. You die a little inside. Because honestly the fats and cholesterol run so thick in this gem of true down-home southern cookin' that the smell alone will give you five heart attacks before your butt hits the chair. I'm not sure why they call this [dumpster] dive The Lunch Box. It could be because they've got all of maybe two windows in the whole place. This is the epitome of dives. The dive to end all dives. A "high" dive into the deepest end, if you will. It's located somewhere. You need a native Indian trail guide to find it. Even then he'll leave you at the door proclaiming "I go no further." It's really in the sticks and frequented by only the grungiest of back road truckers and bikers. So why on EARTH would he give it four stars you ask? The restaurant is spread into the cavernous space of some old building I have no idea what it was before this. The lights are kept low inside and really all you have to eat with is the glow of sun through a couple frosted windows on one side. On the outside you feel almost a nervous fear about going in because there's no telling what's on the other side of that door. The staff is a wonderful and friendly bunch. They are, contrary to the looks of the joint, very helpful and down to Earth. In the back corner sits a pool table covered and waiting for the nights when there's no work in the morning. A bar is the only minimal divide between the kitchen itself and the rest of the room. Above it is plastered a sign promising Good Food, Cold Beer and Good Times. (Checks are paid cash only by the way.) I donno about the beer and the times but the food was indeed good. It was standard southern by all means. Burgers, meat patties, fries and tots lathered graciously with fixins and all fried in pools of grease. I'd argue your food likely comes out of the kitchen greasier than it was going in. The selling point: country style steak. There are only a few places out there that have it and The Lunch Box is one of the only that does it right like it was made at home by mom. But be warned, you will not leave here feeling accomplished in the realm of all foodies. The real win here is the bit of culture you will find nowhere else.

Stop here and eat!!! I have been CRAVING their cheeseburger every day since I stopped. I am a VERY seasoned home made diner burger eater. This place makes 'em! I tried calling the phone number to be sure it was still open, the phone number shown was disconnected. Because there were recent reviews I stopped anyway. So glad I did! Guess they serve sandwiches until 5, get there before then. Would love it if they would place their hours so more people could enjoy their food without worrying if they were going on a boondoggle.

Good hamburger, great tater-tots. Not much to choose from, but it was good. Great place to stop by on your motorcycle and get a refreshment!

Fast, delicious cheeseburger with slaw, chili, onions and mustard. Tater tots are also yummy. Not fancy, but friendly service and clientele.

This restaurant was at the top of the list in my neighborhood. Lots of positive reviews. So we tried a sampling of their fare. Instead of ordering two sets of pizza we decided to do a half and half of the Luau and the Elizabeth as well as an appetizer. The pizza is a B+. Not as spectacular as Johnny's Pizza in Raleigh but definitely doable. The calamari is good too. B+ as well. The ambiance is tavern like and casual. It was a Sunday early evening crowd. Slowly thinning but not dead. The only beef I had was they charged more for a custom pizza vs choosing from their set menu and strongly recommended the latter. I wish they just allowed us to do what we wanted. But there's a next time. We'll do this one more time and make another review. Otherwise it's a solid 4 stars.

Pizza was delicious and nice sized slices. Calamari was delicious as well. Wish they would've given a bigger portion to share as it is an appetizer but oh well. We decided to get a large size so we can bring the leftovers home. We got 1/2 thin crust Supremo and Hawaiian (yes, my wife loves pineapple with her pizza ) as well as eight buffalo wings. The pizza was tasty but limp (for lack of a better word) it wasn't baked long enough to crisp the dough at the ends making the slice droop horribly. The wings were okay. Cooked well without any raw portions. Overall it was an okay meal. Not spectacular or outstanding but serviceable. The ambiance of the place was cozy, oddly familiar. I almost felt a sense of deja vu even though I've never been there before. I give this place a B. P.S. we reheated the leftover slices in our oven the next night and the pizza score bumped up from a B to an A-. So much better!

Black olives would work well as is done in most Pizza Joints. I also recommend that you finish the pie there as leftover will not hold up. The slices become wet rags! The dough is thin and not well worked. They roll the dough with a rolling Pin. Not the correct way to handle pizza dough! The pie dough is like a cracker! Also very little tomato sauce on pie for taste. Cheese was good but not enough! Should have went to another pizza shop just down the road! Pie looks good but was a letdown!
