Metro diner is an experience. There are several locations and this one is just tucked away in a strip mall in Huntersville. So not quite as exciting as the one downtown, but you're still gonna get good service and good diner food. It's nothing over-the-top, but it does hit the spot. This location is a bit tight inside, but there is plenty of seating. They also have a very nice outside patio. So will you be blown away? No, but you'll come away with a full belly and satisfied.

My husband and I went here after my procedure and I was starving. It was a Wednesday early afternoon. We were seated quickly. Staff were very accommodating. I ordered pancakes eggs cheese grits and English muffin. My husband had hueros eggs and 2 teas. Food was good but grits were watery. We will be back to try other items. They have a large menu.

I got sat at a table right away. My server Celeste was attentive even though it was quite busy. I ordered shrimp and grits with toast and a mimosa. Everything was delicious.

The food is always good here and the service by Brooks was outstanding. I highly recommend the chicken and waffles. We sat outside. I wish the screens were down and the screen door was still in place because the flies were everywhere.

We got seated right away at 10:30 on a Sunday morning. Amazing service- our waitress was super kind and attentive. I had the spicy honey chicken biscuit with a side of fresh fruit. It was the perfect portion size if you didn't want to take anything home. The chicken was cooked well. The ambience was your typical breakfast diner- nothing too fancy. Overall, it was a great place to

Visited Metro Diner for the first time this past Sunday. It was everything! There were six in our party and everyone enjoyed their food. It was exactly what we ordered. It didn't take long to be seated or served. The food was delicious, seasoned just right and our waitress was informed, friendly and patient with us. There is also ample parking available in the shopping center area.

Saw a strong weekend brunch crowd as I entered Metro Diner just before 10 on a Saturday. During our 15 minute wait for a table I could review the specials on the chalkboard and see others eating at tables, booths, and a few seats at the counter. Service was quick and friendly and my coffee cup never went below half full. The s'mores waffle was the highlight of the meal - a sweet, decadent, and crunchy treat. The meat lovers scramble was not to my liking as the hollandaise sauce overpowered the meat and eggs. Overall a pleasant meal at a lively Huntersville diner.

There are so many positives about this restaurant. They were SLAMMED on Sunday morning - standing room only. They told me my wait would be 15 minutes and it was 8. They got me served and outta there within 45 minutes of my arrival! Jessica was a kind and attentive server. This is clearly a super popular regional spot. For me, my dish was really bland. I think that's because I'm a visitor and my expectations were different. Huevos rancheros may not be the dish to order in western NC.

Came here for an early dinner and left really happy to finally try this place. The waffle was crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The strawberry butter is a home run! The chicken was juicy and flavorful. Everything came out piping hot which is a plus. The only thing I will say is that the server brought our check after about two bites. We would've ordered dessert and more drinks (beer and sangria).

We stopped here on our way home from Charlotte. We had seen the positive reviews. We were looking for something conveniently located to the highway and decided to stop in. Located in a shopping complex anchored by a Publix, it is easy to find and parking is sufficient. When we walked in there were quite a few tables seated and even a few people picking up to go orders but no one else was standing waiting to be seated. We were acknowledged by a couple of employees and told they would be with us as soon as possible. As we waited a few minutes it appeared they were not short staffed and everyone appeared to be running around, however it felt like they should have been able to help us and the other people who walked in after us quicker. It felt somewhat disorganized. We were taken to a table and provided menus but it took another several minutes until our server stopped in and took our drink orders. Our server was friendly and we placed our orders. My wife used the restroom and reported it was clean and well stocked. Our food arrived in a timely manner and looked good. My wife ordered the meat lovers omelet with no cheese, homefries and a biscuit. I ordered the breakfast burger with homefries. Our only real complaint was the homefries appeared to be frozen and not freshly grilled like we were hoping for. My wife commented her omelet was stuffed full of meat and tasted fresh. The food was good but the overall service wasn't up to par in our opinion. We may try another location in the future but won't rush to try again.

Absolutely amazing place for breakfast!!! highly recommend! I got the Meat Lover's Bowl with a side of cheesiest cheese grits and it did not disappoint!!

Came while visiting a friends house and saw such great reviews. First impression not good. Was sat quickly but waited over 5 minutes for Moriah to finally come to the table. Lots of other wait staff flitting around but had not seen her until she came to the table. So wasn't delivering food or anything - other wait staff should be educated enough to let them know they had a new table waiting. Sunday morning but lots of tables still open. Let's see how the food is. Ordered a coffee and the fried chicken eggs Benedict. Coffee is very good. Rich and tasty. Benedict was good. Chicken was crispy and juicy. Eggs were a bit overcooked. Poached should have runny yolks. Hollandaise was very tasty had a nice lemony taste as it should just could have used a bit more. Will def be back.

The workers are very friendly and very attentive to what we needed. If I needed something, I did not have to wait for a long period of time for them to bring it to the table which I greatly appreciated. I ordered two fish tacos, which came with a side of black beans as well as the crab hush puppies. All of the food was very good and fresh! The fish tacos were very, very big and I liked the coleslaw and sauce that was on the top. It added a nice texture to the tacos. The fish was very crispy and it was well balanced throughout the taco. I only finished one of the tacos while I was there because they were that big! The black beans tasted like they had some type of neckbones or something smoky in it, but there was no meat in them at all. Delicioso!! My only gripe is that the side of black beans was very small. Nonetheless, it is something that I would go back for. The crab hush puppies were very good. The hush puppies were not dry, but they were moist and the crab melted in very nicely with the hush puppy mixture. I ordered eight and I promise you that I could eat a whole 12 or 16 of them by myself lol My guest ordered a patio margarita which was about seven dollars and said it was good and boozy. The drinks are standard pricing ranging from about $6-18. Overall, I'm very pleased that I finally tried this place.

When we pulled up, there was a police outside, which didn't bother us. If anything, it made things feel more secure. They also use a metal detector when you walk in before being seated. Don't let that scare you off though -- this place is a well-oiled machine and everything felt organized and under control. Our server was fantastic: calm, attentive, and never pushy. I ordered the country fried steak with collards and mashed potatoes with gravy, and my husband got a burger. My meal was excellent, and it came with a perfectly flaky biscuit. The tea was Southern SWEET tea, too. My husband said his burger was good for a diner, fresh vegetables and the fries were seasoned well. The diner itself is adorable, full of character and charm. Overall, we had a great experience and would absolutely come back.

Review for Midnight Diner…read more classic, retro-style diner--the kind with a counter, cozy booths, and a nostalgic vibe. The only thing missing is a waitress calling you "hon," and honestly, that might be part of the charm. I was craving a West Coast favorite--chicken fried steak--which I quickly learned is called country fried steak here in the South. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner... it didn't matter. I wanted comfort food, and this place delivered. I ordered takeout and picked it up without any hassle. They have their own private parking lot, which is a huge plus, especially for an Uptown location. It's situated right across from the Hyatt Regency and along the light rail, so I can imagine it gets very busy--particularly if you're heading to or leaving the Spectrum Center. This is exactly the kind of spot where you grab a solid meal to soak up whatever you've been celebrating. And the food? Generous. Very generous. My order included: * Country fried steak with gravy * Mashed potatoes * Pancakes * And, because curiosity got the best of me, their coconut French toast That coconut French toast was the wildcard--and it did not disappoint. Sweet, indulgent, and definitely a treat. Between that and the rest of the meal, it was a lot of food, but I was very happy. The price point is reasonable, the service was fast, and the whole experience felt easy and reliable--exactly what you want from a diner. Next time, I'd like to sit inside and enjoy the full experience, because the atmosphere looks like part of the fun. As someone still exploring Charlotte as a foodie after relocating from the West Coast, it's always nice to find places that deliver those nostalgic comfort-food moments--and this one absolutely did. Bottom line: Great comfort food, generous portions, easy parking, and a classic diner vibe. A solid go-to spot in Uptown, especially when you're hungry and want something satisfying.

Kids are welcome, and they even have a box of toys for kids to amuse themselves with while others dine. The only misstep was the lack of onion on one order. Coffee was hearty. Either way, this ain't for play nor show. He's principled. The other vegan is really pescatarian and could careless. I have severe allergies and definitely care if there's cross contamination. Young lady seating is asked about how the cooktop works for vegan items: 1) is there a separate cooktop? 2) are new utensils used? They did a good job answering and owning what they didn't know but sought someone to answer the questions. Young lady showed us the place where we'll sit and she would go get answers and be right back. She never came back. Alas, the server showed up and he didn't know either nor did anyone ask him or inform him. I had to clean the table and seats were more upsetting to me. The busboy popped nearby and I asked for his spray bottle and he apologized saying he'd clean. H wiped everything but dried nothing. Server returned without answers but someone got another guy to explain their process. He was helpful. I was content. I can say pics on Yelp leave much to be desired but I got the chicken fried chicken + mashed potatoes and sweet potato waffle fries. The vegans got their food first and we got an explanation. I didn't care. Bring it as it's ready. I understand. Plus y'all know vegan cheese doesn't melt. Lol. I didn't desire their vegan breakfast quesadilla nor padrino (I think that's what one had). See pictures. I must say I wanted to get the greens but I will definitely order them on another visit. The vegan ordered vegan pancakes for All to try. I like the crispy edges of any pancake but didn't need the pecans. The vegan butter and syrup was impressive. We got a lot of apologies in due time as 1) straws were forgotten 2) soup of day query was forgotten 3) refills forgotten 4) table wasn't cleaned 5) Milkshake was delayed but hey ... It takes as long as it takes. But I didn't order it so I can't say. I was most bothered the itemized check was taken away so I don't have an image for this review but also BECAUSE a huge convo took place regarding the tip. A new immigrant to the USA was amongst us AND had legit questions so I was happy to explain but their receipts show 20% totals and higher for tipping yet this receipt show the total with tax. Long and short I can recommend 1) fried chicken fried 2) sweet potato waffle fries 3) mashed potatoes 4) brown and light gravy 5) vegan pancakes 6) American potatoes looked great but I didn't touch em as I had plenty Parking is rough. Cleanup in between flipping/turning tables doesn't really happen in the overflow and I'm good on that. Like, sweeping and wiping can be done between tables and as parties depart. The staff is younger like everyone appear to be teens which led a dining member inquire where are the adults? I think I saw 1. There is an overflow parking lot.

Stone ground grits were on point and quality of ingredients was forefront. Eggs were scrambled wet as ordered. I asked for my bacon to be so crispy that it could be used as a flag pole. They knocked it out of the park. Bacon if you stood it vertical didn't bend or sway. Just the way I like it. I also didn't find it to be too greasy like I sometimes find bacon. Their orange juice is exceptional. It is genuinely fresh squeezed. Having had fresh orange juice like squeezed right after picking from trees, I am a bit of an orange juice connoisseur and this hit the spot. Fruit bowl was fresh, ripe and plump. Definitely made same day and not premade or sitting. Partner enjoyed his tuna melt on sourdough. The cutest thing ever is that they cut a special shape out of the bread. Then it is sat atop a toothpick like thing in the sandwich. It's just adorable but I'll let you discover the shape and not spoil the surprise. The only item I would not recommend would be the latte. My decaf latte was more like decaf coffee with milk in it. I prefer a more traditional espresso shot with steamed milk. Spouse was happy with their beer choice. Excellent meal, great vibes and love the heart that has been put into this place through and through. They have loyalty cards too with fun items after so many visits. Look forward to sharing this place with family. I thought it was worth the 30+ minute drive to experience something with so many unique special qualities to it. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor is covered with umbrellas. I did notice the menu had 2 items that could be ordered for pets on it. Not sure if it is for takeaway or they can dine on the patio with their people. Added level of awesome, they support a local rescue and you can bring in unopened bags of dog or cat food. When we went they really were in need of cat food. They also I believe offer a perk to each party if they bring in a bag of food. Epitome of excellent local spot and helps local animal rescue organizations. What's not to adore.

We tried this place on a whim. It showed up on a yelp search for brunch when I decided to check out…read moreDenver to see what's there. Boy am I glad we stumbled upon Citrus! They have indoor and outdoor seating. They have a lot of great interesting options that are out of the ordinary and taste amazing! We will definitely be back and if you're reading my review, you should check them out!
