    Club Sandwich
    Christy S.

My husband and I went to Dixie Grill for lunch, (first time.) We both ordered a triple decker club sandwich with fry's. I got the roast beef, he got the turkey ham and cheese. We split it up so we could try both the sandwiches and were impressed. It was like your old fashioned triple decker club back in the day! The roast beef was rare, fresh tomato and crisp lettuce, it was delicious on lightly toasted white bread. The bacon, ham, turkey and cheese was also perfectly delicious. The fry's were excellent, crispy and plentiful. The server was a somewhat slow to take our order but was very pleasant and was Johnny on the spot on the tea refills. Cute place, price was right and the food was very good, I highly recommend. I think we'll try a breakfast next.

Pleasantly suprised. Had a really great lunch here the other day. The food was fresh and people were friendly. Positive changes for this cute little diner. Bravo!

Parking can be finicky and the parking lot is relatively small. I've enjoyed several breakfast trips here with my family members, and it's always pleasant. If you're looking for real southern diner food, this is one of the best options in town. It can be busy, and there is sometimes a short wait. They do turn tables pretty fast so don't stress too much! The staff are friendly and the food is comforting. I got a half order of biscuits and gravy and a side of grits. Plenty of food, the grits are creamy and the sausage gravy tastes like home. My sister ordered eggs over easy, which came perfectly cooked and unbroken. She also gets her hash browns with extra onions and raves these are the best caramelized onions in town. This is my second visit to this great little restaurant. Visited a few weeks ago and had an…read moreexcellent experience. So, why review again? Experiences can be one-offs that aren't truly representative of the restaurant. You place your order at a station right at the entrance. They bring your food to your table. One note: you pour your own coffee (or tea in my case) at the coffee bar. Nothing fancy, with plastic ware, styrofoam cups and baskets for your food. But, as in my previous visit, the service was excellent. The girl taking your order is always pleasant and helpful and she will visit you during your meal to make sure everything is ok. I decided to try a different dish. This time I ordered the Taylor Ham and egg "hoagie" (they call it "pork roll" which means they come from south Jersey). In addition to my hoagie I also ordered a cinnamon roll. The delightfully fresh bread hoagie comes jam packed with two eggs and plenty of Taylor Ham. I ordered my eggs over easy to assure plenty of yolk and that's exactly how it arrived. Be forewarned, the sandwich is big (my brother took 1/2 home) so make sure you leave plenty of room or better still share with your guest. As mentioned, I also wanted to try their jumbo cinnamon roll which I had passed on, on my previous visit. The server asked if I wanted the cinnamon roll grilled. I chose to have it heated and buttered (via microwave), which threw a curve at my server who had obviously never had that request before however, it came out exactly as I had requested. A warm, moist cinnamon roll with melted butter provides the perfect salty/sweet balance that made this a delight to eat. Although full from our sandwiches, we couldn't stop until we demolished that jumbo cinnamon roll! The bottom line: As with all my reviews my "customer so what" ... would I come back? Since this is my second visit in the span of two weeks, the answer is obvious... absolutely.

Took forever once seated to get food or any type of service. Eventually went to the bar to get a refill of drinks along with others in our crew. The menu is an absolute joke as there is a lot of fill on what they serve you but both my wife I chose the burger as it was the most likely to interpret what I'm ordering. One it came after about an 1 -1 1/2 hours the burger was ok and fry's looked like it was fried in old oil. They were cold and for the money it was not worth it. I think a Macdonald Big Mac would have tasted better at a fraction of the cost. $27 for a burger, cold fries and a small milk shake which I couldn't understand that addition. While sitting at the table I am getting dripped on by the AC duct as that portion is in front of the door opening and with humid air coming in hitting that cold duct it was condensation and dripping on the patrons. In this case me. The server was terrible in my opinion and didn't really cater to many of our needs but the restaurant feels obligated to charge 20% gratuities of 6 people or more. Now I understand that concept as foreign people don't tip like in their country or none at all but that is where the problem is. If a server is good or bad they still are get their tip and in this case there was no incentive for good service. If I am paying $27 for a burger and fries that server better attend to my needs quickly and efficiently. Not sure if I ever will return to this restaurant as it left a bad taste. I usually go by the baseball rule 1 2 3 strikes your out but what brought me over to 3 strikes is the stupid menu and pricing. I think I will make my own dinner at home and bring it to the causeway for a better view and cheaper food and much better food.

The bartender Bowin was great but the owner that was talking down to him was absolutely appalling. First thing I heard across the bar before taking my drink order "I heard you're wanting to serve here and it's not gonna happen" which shocked me because where I come from if you have a correction to make with an employee take it up in the office, not in the public eye. I'm visiting and wanted a nice happy hour experience but let me say I'm never happy seeing workers mistreated like that. I was polite enough to wait until the end of my meal to speak with the owner, Ron, and he was very dismissive. He said the following "it's not that deep, you don't know the full story, etc." which absolutely true I don't know the full story but I don't need to. Actions speak louder than words. The way he treated him I would never support someone like that and first impressions are everything so shame on him. I stayed because I wanted to give Bowin a good tip and ensure I take this up with the owner before leaving instead of leaving a review. Here we are, I'm leaving a review because hospitality is very important in 2 sectors: 1) the way you feel; 2) the experience. I give a singular star for Bowin's great service as well as Celine's but Ron, the owner, doesn't deserve anyone's money for the way he treats his employees. I've never left a review like this but there's a first for everything. I do not recommend this establishment but if you do go please sit at the bar with Bowin or Celine because they deserve a good tip to take home. I support them but not this establishment or Ron. The way you treat your employees is the way they will treat your customers. I will also not be dismissed by someone like this. At first I wasn't going to say anything because I'm on vacation but I will not stand for this nor support this.

A 5pm reservation would make one think, quality service and a fresh hot kitchen! Well something certainly has changed in the last few months because we received neither! After explaining to our server how excited we were to be there for Mother's Day and how it was our parents first visit we placed an order of 3 appetizers (all more bland and less hot than they should be) - keep in mind the restaurant was mostly empty. As we waited for our entrees (an unusually long time) our server didn't check on drinks or water. When 3 of our 4 entrees did come out, we waited for the 4th as manners would expect. Five minutes, 10 minutes, still nothing. When I finally was able to flag down our server there was some excuse about "mixed up tickets" and that a "manager would be right over." 15 more minutes, all were done with their meals as my husband still awaited his entree. No manager, no server. Completely unacceptable. As my sweet husband cut into his filet, completely over cooked and rubbery, was supposed to be medium- he dare not send it back as everyone else was done and he felt terrible. To make matters worse, my father's fish, was loaded with blood line, ruining the flavor of the meat of the snapper. The least they could do was send a manager over. $200 later- (no alcohol) we will definitely never be back and you shouldn't waste your time or money either. The second burger was the American burger I'll give it a 5/10.
