Took a vintage frame to get a mirror added after hearing about this business from a friend- most other places wanted to charge and outrageous price and overcomplicate what I wanted. I only needed a simple mirror for the frame to be cut in an oval shape and mounted to the frame. Kat is seriously a gem- she knew exactly what I needed without overcomplicating or overpricing! I've had a couple of broken window panes over the years, thanks to kids and old single pane windows. I've used Dixie Glass Hoppers for replacements each time. I give them the exact measurements and they have it ready the same day or soon thereafter. It's an inexpensive repair, especially if you DIY, but I'm pretty sure they offer install as well. I tried several times to get Dixie Glasshoppers to give me a quote. I could never get them to call back even after speaking with them on the phone. First, I called and they said send us some pictures and measurements. I did that and waited 3-4 days and never heard anything. I tried calling/emailing and nothing. A few days later, I called again and got someone. They said sorry, they had been sick and asked me to re-send the pictures and they would get right on it. I re-sent the pictures and I've waited a week. Still nothing. Either they are too busy for new customers or too unorganized. I'm not sure which one. read more

This place is great! I took in an original watercolor that was damaged when I shipped it from my Mom's house in California to Florida. I then wrapped it up until I moved back to Atlanta. The painting was tore in the middle when e glass broke & poked through! But, Kelly was able to repair the painting & put a new piece of glass in the frame! It was a happy ending to a sad accident. I will be back! Also they only charged $23.00 to repair the painting & replace the glass & put it all back together. It's now up on my wall. read more

Pretty much the EXACT same experience described by L E. in their review. Called Dixie for a quote and was asked to send pictures, specs, etc, which i did immediately. After a day or so they sent a follow up question which, again, i responded to right away. Since then (1 week) i have heard nothing, even after sending follow up emails. I tried to call and was told that they didn't have time to look for the information because the shop was full of customers. Looks like they have more customers than they can handle. Good for them. My experience, however, is if they don't pay much attention prior to the sale, there's pretty much zero chance you'll get any cooperation if things go south. Glad i caught this one before i wasted any more time. read more

Very professional; reasonable price; highly recommended. I called to get a price on new plate mirror for my bathroom. We talked about all the ins and outs of this process. Then the girl said - do you have the old mirror? Well yes I did! She offered they could cut it down to fit the space (I had gotten a new cabinet) and thus recycle my old mirror. LOVED that idea! Didn't know that could be done. So that's what I did. It was a one-day job; they came and got my mirror, cut it and re-installed it all on the same day and for a reasonable price. Great guys! Had such a great experience after someone directed me to Dixie glasshoppers. I dropped off a broken mirror on saturday and was told I'd get a call with an estimate on Monday. When they called me with the price I said "I know it's last minute but if it's possible to be picked up by Friday that would be amazing." The beginning of my experience with this company was fine. However, when we needed the glass ordered to be delivered, the whole situation became a nightmare. We were told the glass would be delivered between 6:00 and 7:00 one evening... 10:00 rolls around and still no delivery. I called the next morning and a few times during the day to express how we needed the glass as soon as possible to make our deadline that night for the project (which is why we were having it delivered the day before) and we did not receive the glass until 10 minutes before we needed to have the project complete. The guy who delivered was not apologetic and did not even care about their lack of responsibility and awareness of their customer's needs. In fact, when I told him about the deadline we had, he just said "Well it looks like you won't make that". He didn't seem the least bit concerned that we were unhappy and never once did he say sorry for not delivering the glass when he was supposed to or even give us a reason for never showing up the night before despite being told that he was going to deliver. We will never use them again for a project and if you have any sort of deadline, I wouldn't even waste my time calling them because you won't make it and they won't care. read more

I was looking for a glass to fit my coffee table (broke during moving) and I did some research online. I could not find any place near so I asked a friend. He recommended Parker & Sons but for some reason I continued my search. I was glad that I did. I stumbled on Dixie Glasshoppers online and so I called. I put the table I needed the glass for and I headed for Dixie Glasshoppers around 10am. It is only 15 mins away so not a long drive at all. I was immediately greeted by this beautiful smile and later learned this beauty name is Kat. I explained what I needed and she consulted with Kelly. He is not a man of many words but looks like he really knows the business. I was then provided a quote. To get a glass exactly like what was on there was going to be too pricey for me. I really did not plan on spending a lot for this glass so I had a price in mind. I told Kat what I was looking to spend and she asked Kelly what could be done. He came up with a solution and right in my budget. I was so happy. While I was there customers constantly came in and out and the phone rang consistently. I knew then that this company knew this glass business inside and out. I stayed and talked with Kat until after 2pm. We talked about everything from glass to hair to vegetable gardens. I enjoyed every minute of it!! I will recommend them to any and everyone!! And will be bringing my dad there soon to get some glass for his table.
