We book throughout the year for adaptive diving groups, veteran groups, and recreational sport dives, which often means coordinating groups with different needs, schedules, and logistics. We need to be able to depend on the operators we work with, and Parrot Island has always been dependable and easy to work with. Communication has been professional, and we have always felt that our groups were well taken care of. Most importantly for us, they know their business and keep safety foremost in how they operate. When you are bringing adaptive divers and veterans aboard, that matters tremendously. We would not continue booking year after year if we did not have confidence in both their professionalism and their commitment to safety. They are also simply a joy to work with. We genuinely appreciate the relationship we have built with Parrot Island over the years and look forward to many more dives with them. We are happy to recommend them based on our own years of experience.

I never heard from him so I texted him at least 7 times & also called his shop several times (with no answer), one time his son answered just so I could make sure we were still on the books. His son had no idea about the booking but told me he confirmed we were good to go. I still couldn't get ahold of Jerry. Finally a week before the trip I called and Jerry answered. He was extremely condescending, scolding me for not following up on the booking and saying he "never heard back from me" in such a rude and misogynistic tone. He changed his tune really quick when I told him I have been trying to get a hold of him for at least a month, and also spoke to his son who confirmed the dives (he had no idea). He then expected me to still trust his professionalism and use his service. No thanks. As a business owner I find it appalling to scold your potential clients for YOUR own neglect. Do better.

I really can't say enough good about it. I've been doing business here for years and everyone has always been the most polite and most helpful, especially when catching your docking lines, of any such place I've found along the Intracoastal. As the front dockage is about 150 feet long, there is plenty of room and since the docks are rather low to the water, climbing off of smaller boats having less freeboard requires little effort. They also have transient slips, bait sales, some fishing equipment and are within easy distance of interesting sights, shops and restaurants. There are three other great things about it. First off their diesel fuel has not only proved to be fresh and water free but contains a "ValvTect" treated fuel with biocides so you don't have fool around with mixing or measuring other additives or biocides into your tank. Another thing is that, if you ask for it, they have a "Preferred Customer" tag which they'll issue free of charge so you can get a good discount on your fuel purchase. They take both cash and credit, but if you can, use cash as you'll get a bigger, better discount than with credit. When taking on any amount of fuel it can really add up, especially for those taking over a hundred gallons of diesel, which many do. Also, the fact that they remain open until 8:00pm makes it a convenient stop to fuel up after a long day or to get your catch cleaned. For navigational purposes, the location of Taha Marine Center is: Latitude:26° 13.94' N Longitude:80° 5.59' W ICW:1056.000 They also monitor VHF Channel 16, using Channel 69 for working.

Well, we sold our boat and have not found the right one, so with company from Ohio we decided to (for the first time ever) book a drift fishing experience. My 5 star rating is based solely on the captain, crew and fellow fishers. The wind had been blowing for a couple of days and the sea was rough, the captain handled the vessel excellently. The crew was kind, attentive and comical, making the entire afternoon enjoyable. They knew exactly the spot to angle us for our drift making the day exciting with yellow tail, mutton snapper, cobia and king fish on the lines. They cleaned our catch at the end of the day and not a bone was found when we prepared it. Now, having read some other reviews posted, here is what I will say, the equipment is well used salt water fishing gear. It does not sparkle but the line is well kept and the hooks hook the fish, which is what counts. This is not a luxury tour, it is a fishing boat for FISHING. For $60 ($15/hr) you have rods, tackle and bait, do not have to be concerned with purchasing a fishing license and you get your catch cleaned. Lastly, at the end of the trip you are not the one cleaning up fish blood on the deck, hosing down the boat, cleaning the bathroom (yes, sometimes guests get seasick so take Dramamine 45 minutes before boarding if you are not accustomed to ocean boating), hosing the rods and reels and having the line replaced, which as a boat owner is not the fun part. It was really very nice to simply walk away with our catch. Also, you have the option to bring your own rig, which I learned yesterday and plan to do when we go out again next weekend.
