3.5/5, +.5 for service…read more This was my family's last stop in Quebec City before driving back to Montreal. Q-de-Sac is a restaurant in Old Quebec (lower town) that's more of a bar setting. They have some Quebec staples like poutine and foie gras, and a selection of 10" pizzas available. We came here for lunch and each had a French onion soup. I had a Shack's Poutine by myself, while my mom and dad shared a beef cheek pizza. The French onion soup was a bit salty. I find it intriguing that multiple establishments in Quebec City kept mentioning their onion soups as the "best in town", including this one. This one was good, but I'd give Chez Boulay the crown from all the places I tried. The poutine, on the other hand, was excellent. Will never say no to plentiful cheese curds, and I don't mind foie gras at all. My parents enjoyed the beef cheek pizza, particularly highlighting the BBQ sauce and the smoked beef cheeks. Service was excellent. We arrived around 11:30am and there was one other table taken, but by the time we left around 1pm there was a lineup. Personally I would come back here.

Dined here on a quiet, cold night. It was easy to walk in to get bar seating but recommended to…read moremake reservations in advance if possible. Had a delicious, warm French onion soup that was loaded with cheese. Partner and I split a poutine with foie gras. Very filling meal perfect for a cold night in Quebec City!

This cozy little bistro tucked on a side street is not to be missed. The host settled us into side…read moreby side settings on one of the love seats, and suggested his own spritz cocktail-- a sweet, herbaceous concoction of red and white wines, some other things, and "no aperol!" that was reminiscent of a sophisticated birch beer. The entire menu looked irresistible, but we decided we would order 3 starters and dessert. The special appetizer was a creamy wild mushroom sauté with housemade chicken stock and a foie gras option, which we ordered. We also ordered the scallop appetizer and the charcuterie planche. Every single thing we ate was exquisite. Our host, who was also the server. brought each appetizer out as a course beginning with the scallops. They were delicious (although it would've been nice to have had one or two more scallops on there). The mushroom appetizer could have gone on forever as far as I was concerned. Truthfully, we should have stopped there. I did not realize that the charcuterie planche was really enough for four people. We ended up picking at it, but taking a lot of it home for breakfast the next day. Sadly, we did not leave room for dessert. My boyfriend had a Chardonnay from Ontario, which was sweet but paired nicely with the scallops. I had an orange wine, which I had never had before, but it was the suggestion of the host, and it was really delightful with the charcuterie. Great service, delicious food, sweet, sweet spot. Truly, I love this little restaurant, and if I lived nearby, I would be a regular.

Super cute bistro in Old Quebec. It was a rainy night when I stopped by and I was glad that I got…read moreseated. It's pretty small and most tables were already filled. It has got a bit of a snow ledge feel on the inside - high ceilings, wooden beams, brick. The host was also the bartender. He was really nice and could speak English. The menu was in both french and english - a bonus! I ordered a risotto of sorts with barley that had shaved apple in it! And also one of their signature summer spritzes. The risotto surprised me - the apple shavings gave it a slight tart flavor and the squash/beets gave it a rustic taste. The menu changes with the season and I think that their chef makes unique dishes. There is also a lengthy wine and cocktail list. Highly recommend - perhaps rsvp just in case.
