We hired Bay Area Moisture Control to install a sump pump with trenching to address standing water…read moreunder the house. On the positive side, the crew (Antonio) was punctual, easy to work with, and efficient. The whole job took 3.5 hours. The issue came with the placement of the sump pump discharge location. I had talked to their sales lead (Bill) about having the water be discharged to the street where there is a storm drain. Instead, the sump pump "pop up" was placed 8 feet from the front of the house, way too close. Water can flow back under the house, defeating the purpose of the sump pump entirely. When I called Bill during the job to talk about our options, he dismissed our concerns and immediately pointed to the contract, implying that this was our fault because we signed the contract. In reviewing the contract, the design was completely unclear about where the sump pump would exit water. Bill continued to skirt the fact that that we had discussed pumping water to the street, and instead, he baked a different design into the contract with unclear markings. We are dissatisfied with the poor communication, but even more so, the lack of accountability from the company. If you hire this company, just a word of caution to walk through the design with them before signing and make sure you're on the same page about everything. We are going to have to bring someone else out to fix the issue. One more thing ... I was flabbergasted that when talking to Bill on the phone about the iffy sump pump discharge location, Bill was trying to upsell me on encapsulation! Read the room, dude.

Since the deck covers a living space, ensuring it was properly waterproofed was crucial to avoid any leaks. John and his team were excellent--easy to communicate with, prompt, and very pleasant. We navigated through two extremely rainy seasons without any problems. Fast forward to 2024, and despite an unforeseen issue where a nail had worked its way through the waterproofing, John promptly took care of the entire deck surface. The new coating has restored it to its original condition, which was a delightful surprise. We're extremely grateful for their outstanding work. Having a waterproof deck gives us peace of mind, and we no longer worry about the rain!

We had a massive water leak coming from our light well into our garage on Christmas Day and Asael came out to check super fast after we requested a quote. It was a difficult job to do in the tiny space, but he and his crew immediately created a tented area on our roof so no more water would come in and they could work while it was raining. His communication and updates were great and he kept us well informed with photos and messages. His crew were totally professional, friendly, and clean and we couldn't be happier with the end result. I can't believe they were able to do everything they did in such a short time during the intense storms. I highly recommend them and would call them again if anything else comes up.

We knew that there would be few projects and maintenance but man, oh man... you really do end up putting so much time, energy, and money into your house! We've been putting off our biggest project for last and that was finally getting a French drain for our water seepage problem. We live on a hill so once there is any rain, the influx of water really floods our foundation and it was seeping into our garage and crawlspace. I had 5 different companies come and give me their thoughts & estimates and once I met Carlos from Drainage & Moisture Control, I knew that he definitely was an expert. He was super knowledgeable and thorough and I just felt good genuine vibes from him. Out of all the estimates, Drainage & Moisture Control was the most professional & detailed. Although they were on the top end of our budget, we went with them because we felt that it was worth the extra spend for high quality work. We definitely chose the right company because Carlos & his team worked tirelessly, were so respectful to our family, and kept the work area so clean during the entire project. Communication with Carlos was super easy and we had updates on the progress daily. The team even went above and beyond and helped make a cement step for us, even out some of our uneven ground, and replace some of old broken vents! Wow! I was soooo impressed! I was ready to give them 5/5 stars for all their hard work on the French drain but now I wish I could give them 10/5 stars just for being sooo amazing and pleasant to work with!! Thanks again Carlos & team for helping us finally fix our last (hopefully) big project for our home!
