So so so bad, This is my worst dining experience. The service attitude is very poor, as if I don't know who owes her money. Hygiene is not good, dishes are not clean. First off, the time waiting to be served is intolerably long. It's not about ordering, but waiting to be served. It takes 1 hour for us to have our first fish after we ordered. Secondly, if you try to blame the hair on us, you really mess with the wrong people. The server we had is clearly black hair. We don't know about the kitchen but if you try to blame every mistake on your customer then you are really a small person. Go look other reviews! This happens not only once. We are not satisfied with the way we were treated. We have never heard a word of sorry but rather than a distracted waitress with a poker face who never came to our table unless we ask. Rating: Near Great, Not Super Great, I've had better. Today we had Tofu Pad Thai, Chicken Spicy Fried Rice, Chicken Satay. I had a Dr. Pepper to drink and my wife a Thai Iced Tea. Service was prompt. Even though we were there at lunch hour there was only one other table being served. We have had food from the Divine Thai several times before. Once during 2020 we ate outside during the Pandemic. And my wife picked up take out twice after that. This was the first time we ate inside. That was the only negative part for me as I am in a wheelchair that there is a ramp but high door threshold! I decided to spend a night in Grover Beach and I was surprised by this spot (super convenient because it was walking distance from my AirBNB). I ordered and paid at the window and sat outside. I got the egg rolls, the thai ice tea, and the pad see eew with chicken. The egg rolls came out first and you could taste that they were just cooked. I decided to get the thai ice tea because a couple had one and it looked too good not to try. The drink had good flavor and not too sweet just how I like it. The pad see eew had great flavor and loved the broccoli. Very friendly staff, COVID safe, and large portions (I ate half and the other half is in the picture). This is our second restaurant to try for Thai food takeaway in our new area. We always order the same thing as we know what we like. Out of the three restaurants we've tried so far, this one is the one we like the most. We have three more to try. So crazy we have 6 Thai restaurants in our area! I just can't get over this.... I have nothing bad to say so why do I only give them a 4 star? First, I'd like to have the dine in experience before giving them a 5. Also, I've had Thai food in many different places around the world and so I measure to the best I've had so far. This one isn't quite there but it will do and I am impressed with the choices we have in this area. The ingredients here are fresh, sauces not too heavy or light but just right. The portions were generous, they were served looking pleasant, but unfortunately, each dish lacked flavor And were so bland. We really had our hopes set high based on all the ratings that everybody has given them at this restaurant. Over the past couple of months I've ordered 3 times, which is not often compared to what I usually order. Trying to give chances since 'things happen' but this many, not acceptable. The first mess-up, we were given the complete wrong food and didn't realize until we were home 30 mins away. (3 dinners ruined & thrown out, didn't even get our 4th entree for the other person) Second mess up- I ordered my usually mussuman curry and received pumpkin curry, NOT A FAN OF PUMPKIN... at all, so I ended up having to cook myself dinner this night... late. You sit down, wait for a menu, then go up to the register to order your food. The food does get brought to the table though. I know I have high standards when it comes to foods since I'm from the Bay Area and we have some of the best ethnics restaurants in the country. Yelping/googling Thai restaurants in Pismo Beach yielded Divine Thai as one of the most popular Thai restaurants down here, so we decided to give them a try. I had already noticed a piece of food on the chair when I took a seat (-1 point)...then they brought out the empty plates for our party and my sis in law's plate has a piece of rice on it so we asked for another plate (-1 point). Our Po Tak soup had a piece of hair in it (-1 point). The Pad Thai and Pine Apple Fried Rice that came out looked SOGGY AF and so unappetizing that my eleven year old nephew who LOVES Pad Thai refused to even give it a try already tells you how digusting it is (-2 points). I wouldn't visit here again sanitation wise and wouldn't give this restaurant another try taste wise... But hey, if you've never had good Thai Food before then you wouldn't know what good Thai food actually tastes like. We stopped in for lunch and we were greeted promptly. Our server was very polite, efficient but welcoming. My Wife ordered the pad thai which was good but not blow you away good. My Tom Kah was amazing.. all the right ingredients with great tasting broth. The dumplings were tasty but not as impressive as my soup. Quaint restaurant for lunch. I dined in and ordered pad Thai and spicy eggplant entree's, both with tofu. They do have lunch specials that comes with drink and soup of the day. I preferred to order the entrees because it was a warm day for soup. I requested as mild as possible for the spicy eggplant and they delivered + rice included. I appreciated the flavor and that the chef did not douse it with sauce so that the eggplant was just the right firmness and NOT soggy and soaking in sauce. The pad Thai was alright. Back in like 2020 the food was great! But we had it again and the beef tasted weird - which is a bummer because we got the spicy beef salad for 18 bucks. Our beef in the pad see ew also tasted off. Me and wife came here for our the first time tonight. When you first walk in it seems very small and intimate which is how we like it! Before coming we split a joint in the parking lot, and our eyes were as red as our curry. We also ordered some chicken satay with peanut sauce. I didn't try the coconut chicken soup that comes with the check-in offer but my friends all really liked it. We walked in , Expecting to order and take it home. But the lovely lady I wish I had gotten her name offered us each table to sit at. There weren't any people inside but they were people outside in their makeshift TO GO window section. We didn't expect to eat inside but it sure would be nice to eat inside of a restaurant, it's just not the same when you take it home. So we ordered three or four entrées, way too much food. It was all delicious, very tasty fresh. My husband really liked it as did I. So gladWe had our meal at Divine Thai. There is no need to drive to San Luis Obispo. Although the stated 20-25 minute wait turned out to be 45 minutes, the food was solid. Tried the dumplings, pad kee mah and coconut chicken soup (tom Ka gai). The soup was a super large portion for a "cup" and there was a lot of chicken and various spices and chunks of galang and other flavorful ingredients. Dumplings were OK and seemed like a shumai style Chinese dumpling. The noodle dish was also decent with small but well cooked shrimp and lots of basil.
