The good news is this option at Century is amazing. Sit back relax and get the benefits of a massage that hits your pressure points with just the right amount of "pain". I've been here quite a few times and have done the reflexology foot massages many times, the acupressure back/body massages a few times and have done the fire cupping twice. I've had a very good experience each time which is why I keep coming back. The foot/leg massages are amazing, I always feel so pampered and relaxed during and after. They're about 50 minutes long. If the pressure is too strong or weak you can tell them. WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?: Also called "zone therapy," this mixture of healing art and science is based on the premise that an energy channel encompassing 12 vital organs exists from our feet to the tops of our heads. Applying pressure with his/her hands, a reflexologist unblocks that channel to restore proper health and organ function. The back/body acupressure massages are very nice and relaxing. So good for tight muscles. WHAT IS ACUPRESSURE?: Acupressure is a form of touch therapy that utilizes the principles of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. In acupressure, the same points on the body are used as in acupuncture, but are stimulated with finger pressure instead of with the insertion of needles. Acupressure is used to relieve a variety of symptoms and pain. And I love the fire cupping. It seems weird and scary at first but once they're suctioned on...it's actually insanely relaxing. The bruising usually lasts about 2 weeks and as you get it done more often, the bruising goes away faster. WHAT IS FIRE CUPPING?: Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, dispel stagnant blood to improve blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
