I can concur with the other Yelpers about Ardrey Kell shop......the staff is absolutely rude! It amazes me that people are working in a business that is so customer-dependent, can be so rude. By all means, be discerning, but that can be done in a professional way. Do not act as if you are preparing for the London or Paris fashion week.....and even if you were, do it with some grace and professionalism. I needed a dress for New Years and a friend recommended this shop. The shop features a variety of dresses from dressy to casual , some famous brand names as well ; plus shoes, handbags, jewelry, scarves, hats, blouses , pants, coats and an assortment of other accessories. There are dressing rooms to try on clothes, prices are very reasonable and the staff friendly. I love their clothes but also have picked up some great Home Accessories. The only downside is their clients r very tiny, so we normal size 10's don't have as large of a selection as a size OO, O4. The saleswomen r always helpful, this is a great find since their clothes look new+ they r very selective for what they take in on consignment. read more

My daughter and I visited this shop looking for a prom dress at a reasonable price. We were able to find a black dress that she'll potentially wear however, for it to be a consignment shop, (I understand it's a "high end" consignment shop), you're better of buying a brand new dress at Windsor at Carolina Place mall or Concord Mills for the same price. I also couldn't help but notice my daughter and I were watched more than the other customers in the store. I hate bringing race into any situation because it is the LAST thing that I think of. The representative continuously asked us if we were ready to get a dressing room as we were still browsing and once in the dressing room, she checked on us as if we needed assistance and she didn't bother others the same way. Maybe it's because I wore a hooded sweatshirt jeans and my appearance made me look like I didn't belong on that part of town. My daughter and I have been shopping for prom dresses for the last three weekends and it was also a very dreary day. I dressed for comfort and anyone shopping for prom dresses with a teenager would understand. Had it not been for my daughter liking the dress, I would've left it behind. I hope the representative will read this, use it as a teaching moment on how to interact with customers at the store and see people as people not by race or social class. I always stop here first if I need an outfit! Wether it's athletic wear, or a dress for an event, I almost always find something! And many times, extra items, too. The employees/owner are so incredibly nice and helpful. They'll help coordinate, match, exchange sizes, put items back, and give recommendations, all while you are in the dressing room. (If you want the help! Otherwise, they'll leave you alone). I'm not sure I've ever left without finding one or two items. I always tell friends to stop by, and a few have started consigning. Finally made it to this store after years of driving by as I'm trying to become a consignment first shopper. I can't believe I've never been here before - it's fantastic! Really great quality pieces (I love stores like Uptown Cheapskate, but you have to dig for quality) and reasonable prices. They have a great stock selection too, which I was expecting since it's not a huge store. The women working were also really friendly and helpful. I got two great pieces and probably could've found more if I didn't control myself! Their hugs selections of dresses is especially nice for how hot this summer has been. They do have some nice items up for sale. I noticed that immediately ( that's what the two stars are for). Sadly, I also noticed the attitude that the other reviewers mentioned just as quickly! I'm relatively new to the area, from NYC, & this shop is only a 10 minute drive from me but the atmosphere is certainly that of a snooty, high end boutique. As much as I love and adore designer everything I would much rather drive 25 minutes further to a very cool consignment shop in Rock Hill, with very sweet & warm ladies in a friendly atmosphere, just so I don't have to deal with any attitude. High end or not, a warm atmosphere and friendly service always gets you further. I speak from experience because I've been in the retail business, in both corporate & boutique environment as a manager, for many years. read more

This is my first negative review that I have left in my life. (54 year old!). I prefer to see the positive and good in every situation, instead of focusing on any negativity. This time I feel compelled to chime in and will completely agree with the other Yelpers in regards to the rude and unfriendly demeanor of the sales associates, as well as the owner herself. I have been in this store several times, both as a consigner and customer. Unfortunately, each time I visited this store I was treated as if I was second class. They don't make eye contact with you, are completely into gossiping and 'customer service' is non-existent. I love shopping at small, individual boutiques where you receive friendly service and the experience is fun and upbeat. There are plenty of great little boutiques and consignment stores throughout the Charlotte area that give such service and they leave you with a sense of gratitude, not attitude upon leaving. Regardless of whether or not they have nice things (and I give them two stars here) the lack of respect and friendliness is a deal killer. read more

I came here to consign after hearing great reviews from a coworker. I will never go back. The women working were absolutely hateful. Not only did they snub their noses at my clothing (Lilly Pulitzer, Wildfox, J. Crew), but they also were completely malicious and rude. They literally asked me why anyone in their right mind would take any of my clothes if they weren't hanging and pressed. This is something I easily could have done if they would have told me when I called beforehand. They continued to make derogatory remarks about my clothing, choice of education (ASU), and general lifestyle until I had the good sense to get the hell out of there. Don't waste your time and energy! Side note- I did notice they had very cute things for sale, but I would much rather purchase things from people who have even a tiny idea of what customer service means. I stumbled upon this place during one of my driving adventures. The staff was friendly and I found a lovely Ann Taylor dress and Burberry inspired bag which gets compliments everywhere I go. They have a great selection and I think the prices are fair. Nothing looked worn and they seemed to have something for everyone. My friend was thrilled at the fact that they didn't have just "skinny girl" clothes there and catered to the more full figured woman as well. My negative? I brought some suits in that had been cleaned and stored in space bags (at least one or two suits had never been worn). I was told I had to bring them back on hangers and pressed. Yes, I imagine that the could have used a quick press since they were in space bags but they really could have done that (I was told they were scared to do it for fear of ruining them) but the hangers? I didn't get my things on hangers so why do I need to put them on hangers? They snubbed their noses at a couple of items which I guess is to be expected since they are dealing with the Ballantyne crowd. In the end, I wound up driving around with the stuff in my car for another month since I don't have time to iron 10-12 suits and other items and wound up giving them to my sister who was more than grateful and appreciated my taste (even the pieces they snubbed). read more

Wow - I'm surprised to see such mixed reviews on this place. It's not perfect, but it's a dang good consignment shop. I'm from up North where we have consignment shops by the dozen. I was deeply disappointed when I moved down South to find that they are few and far to come by. The ones I did find were either too luxurious to afford or absolute crap. I was beyond elated when I found Divine Consign! I've both bought and sold clothes with them before and never had an issue. They only take seasonal items - which is understandable. Divine Consign is a consignment shop that does more than just women's clothes. They've got a small section for kids clothing, along with menswear, but there are also some household items, and artwork. This being said, it's a bit confusing. Maybe this isn't always the case, but I was wearing athletic clothes when I went into the store, and didn't get any acknowledgement, let alone eye contact from the woman working there...while other women, dressed in everyday clothes did. I'll focus on the womenswear, since that's what I was hoping to find. I did see some NEW Diane von Furstenberg dresses, with tags, selling for about $60. Albeit they were from about 2006. (I know this because I used to own one of the same dresses.) There aren't many higher end designer items...though there is the occasional Chloe handbag, or Tiffany bracelet. I'd say the inventory is geared toward about 80% middle-aged, and 10% mall brands, like J.Crew, Banana Republic, and another 10% designers like Milly or DVF. Prices are what I expected for a consignment shop...though the selection could use some work. read more

I have no idea where the people are shopping at that wrote the negative reviews - because this is my absolute favorite store in Charlotte!! I was tempted not to write a review at all because I don't want others to know about my "hidden secret" - but I just had to write something after visiting their yelp page. Both of their locations are great - they offer amazing clothes at great deals. I have visited other women's consignment shops in Charlotte and none come close to comparing. The ladies that work here are fantastic (the owner, Amalia is an absolute doll and has great style - so you trust that her store will have great stuff as well)- they are all so sweet and so much fun to hang out with while browsing all of their hidden treasures. My husband has tried to "ban" me from this store - the thrill of the hunt seriously becomes an addiction - especially when you know you will always find great things. I always try to leave without buying anything - but somehow seem to find myself leaving with 3, 4 or 5 new things at a time! If you have read the reviews and don't want to visit that is fine (more for me!!) - but I would SERIOUSLY consider checking this place out if I were you!! read more

I love checking out consignment shops every time I travel and I very much enjoyed my shopping experience here. There is a cute dressing room also which I liked since the last consignment shop I visited had only a tiny bathroom without a mirror in which to try clothes. What I bought: a GREAT pair of sandals (I forget the name brand but they are a well-made sandal). I paid $20 and considering the details, I'd say they were at least $50 retail. There is also a great selection of jewelry interspersed throughout the store. I was on my way out when I spotted a pretty necklace with a leopard flower. It too was $20. Definitely a fair price for the quality. The shop also carries slightly used Louis Vuitton purses. The handles were just a tad dark so I knew they were just slightly used (and REAL!!) The normally $1850 was around $850. I will return when I'm in the area. read more

What a great boutique! I moved to the Charlotte area about 6 months ago and have noticed the second hand market here is very lacking! This shop is a gem. Merchandise is organized in a beautiful way which makes it fun to shop and the owner takes pride in her business. They have a good selection here. I found two tops and a dress today. The customer service could be better, but still worth a look.

I frequent this place about once a month to check out the new items although they tell me they put new items on the floor daily, as they come in. Overall the place offers nice, stylish clothes at reasonable prices. They are friendly and helpful. They take consignments only on certain days and they only pay out on certain days, so be sure to check. I also recently found out that you can only use your credit at the store you have it at. You cannot transfer it to their other store off Park Rd. read more

While this store is attractive and does have some pretty clothes for sale, I wouldn't personally frequent them again, either from a shopper's or a consigner's point of view. The comments about the staff in the other reviews are mostly spot-on. The women staffing this store seem to have an awful lot of attitude. It may depend on who's at the desk on the day you come. The first time I visited I actually got a lady who was pleasant and accepted many of the things I brought to consign. The other two trips have been fairly disastrous - you leave there feeling confused and lower-class. Ann Taylor, Laura Ashely, Banana Republic, in perfect condition - rejected. Took some items in to consign and they turned down brand new designer purses in dust bags . These were coach and dooney but yet they have an American Eagle tank top hanging up for sale. The sales staff was extremely rude and snobby. Good thing they they turned my items because I sold on posh mark in less than 12 hours. This store has gone down hill... hey if you have American eagle or forever 21 be sure to take it there to consign... they have Lilly pulitzer but any true Lilly lover knows only the vintage stuff is quality... the new Lilly is cheaply made. Divine Consign has definitely gone "down hill" in the last year or so as far as the quality of merchandise they are accepting for their store. I've bought 2-3 items over the past six months that I unfortunately didn't notice till I got home, were either snagged or had holes in it. I had consigned a designer necklace with them last year and was shocked when I got a check for a measly $20 which was less than the "no designer" necklaces that they were selling. I must agree with the other reviews as far as the unfriendly staff too, although the owner is very sweet she could have definitely chosen a better staff. No record of items collected and sold isn't a good idea either! read more

The items they seemed to have in the store seemed nice for the most part, but I was very put off by the owner/worker. It was 5:52pm and she was asking me if I needed any help (with an attitude of "I am closing soon so I hope you won't be here long"). I told her I knew they were closing soon. I continued to look and she followed me around pretending to be straightening clothes on racks around where I was as if trying to tell me to get going. At 5:59pm she had half of the lights in the store turned off and the door already locked! There were two of us in there at the time. We both left quickly making comments that we were being rushed out. Very rude in my opinion as a sales shop owner. Who knows what we "would have" purchased! read more

Stopped by the new store at quail corners....supposed to be a consignment shop...but they seem to think they are a Nieman Marcus...without the quality service...Their prices are laughable...a pair of Levi's for 28.00? Aren't they like 32.00 new? Don't dare make a comment or ask a question....the attitude there is more like if you have to ask, you can't afford it..terrible service, rude staff...over priced junk..steer clear...give them 1 star because the shop looks ok..if you want good deals, shop the outlet stores...this place won't last at this location too pretentious for the neighborhood...would rather see a nice coffee shop in its place read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!! I found it a little over a year ago and have always left the store with amazing stuff. The prices are very fair. Lily for under $60, authentic Louis Vuitton for $400-600, and even J crew for 18-24. My favorite thing I got was a pair of Citizens of Humanity jeans that were like $55! These jeans are like almost $200 new so to me that is a STEAL. They looked brand new. I also love the variety of styles and you can always find unique things that you don't see everyday. I know EXACTLY the employee that the comments from 2012-2013 are talking about, but that lady is no longer working there. The staff now is SO helpful and they all are great about helping you find stuff that works well for you. They are honest in there opinions about how something looks in a kind way. They always help me pair jewelry, shoes and bags so I often get entire outfits put together, like a personal stylist :) They have recently added these booths that I think people rent out and put there items like re-purposed furniture, candles, etc. They also added a maternity section that I took some of my stuff to consign, they accepted pretty much everything. The only 2 things they did not were pretty pilled from my washer, but I like that because who wants to buy clothes that look really worn?! Overall, I love this place. read more

Consignment stores are great but beware consigning home furnishings with this company's shop at Quail Corners. A sloppy "contract" and unfriendly, in-a-hurry attitude meant they "donated to charity" the 2 Queen Anne end tables I consigned without any effort to communicate with me. Not after the 90 days as stated, but well after 180 days, I saw the tables in the shop being used as display pieces with well hidden price stickers underneath. This led me to believe the consignment was still active and I could pick up the tables when I asked. Not true. The shop takes advantage of the wording in their "contract" and gives other consignment businesses a bad reputation. read more

Poor and ridiculous management. First, I'd expect to get some sort of itemized receipt after dropping off a number of items to their store. Otherwise, do you trust that they are tying what you drop off to your account and not someone else's? I have consigned at other shops and received an itemized list. Second, you drive there and they tell you you need to provide self addressed and stamped envelopes for them to send you checks for sales. "Yep, let me just go to my car where I keep envelopes and stamps", right! And like I'm gonna drive home and back just to bring them 2 envelopes and two 49 cent stamps. They can't just take whatever my check is and deduct 49 cents or whatever?! Then the kicker! I brought them my consignment because I moved across the country so I can't come by and pick up checks. So the check is for only $5. I suspect they lost track that my items were from me and sold them--I get regular checks for about $150 from another store. AND I'm told they won't mail a check for only $5 amount because if it doesn't reach me it costs them a $35 bank fee. Unbelievable! They are telling me they won't send me a check in the mail on the off chance I don't get it. I get all my other mail including checks for $1000, postcards, birthday cards....These people are ridiculous!! The people that helped me when I dropped off my items and I've called 3 times and each experience has been with someone with a bad attitude. I see other reviewers met those same people. I regret consigning with them and would feel better having just donating my items. Consign elsewhere. There are other great stores in Charlotte. The only reason I went here is because I couldn't get a last minute appointment at other shops. read more
