Hooray for Divine Canine! I have been using Divine Canine for a few months for boarding and I could not be more pleased with the service. Natalia is really a dream come true. My dog has stayed with her on multiple occasions, ranging from 1 night to 2 weeks and he absolutely addores her. The best part is that he is treated as a part of the family which means that he gets lots of love and attention but they wont let him get away with causing trouble. A month after I left my initial review I received a private message from the owner that left me feeling pretty icky. I let it go because I hate confrontation, but ever since that happened I noticed that my relationship with Yelp has really changed and that's just not ok. I really value the feedback on Yelp and assume others do too. Sure, I've heard of people who start fake accounts for the purpose of building up or tearing down a business and people who even lie about their experiences for the same reason; I am neither of those people and would like to think that honest people greatly outnumber those who aren't; I simply left my review based on my honest experience. Did it make me feel good? Absolutely not. But I would never have been in that situation had it not been for other positive reviews on Yelp, and I think it's a disservice to other consumers to withhold an experience that was not particularly positive. In doing so I didn't get personal, I don't think I got nasty; I don't even know these people except from limited interaction via email and text, but assume they are good at what they do because there have been other positive experiences. Mine just was not one of them and I simply relayed what happened and how I felt about it. No more, no less. If at that time my business *was* valued I should have received some sort of apology or explanation immediately. If I was wrong and then went on Yelp and lied about it that would be libelous and I could be sued. Why would I do that? Instead of taking any responsibility in the couple days after or even in the message I received (a month later), the only apology I received said "I'm so sorry that you felt you had such an utterly horrible experience that you needed to leave the most negative review possible about our business." I don't need to be in the Psychology field to know that that isn't an apology. Further, my review was called "shockingly extreme", "unnecessarily harsh", and "exaggerated". It was also implied that I should have waited longer or something because I "so quickly dismissed" them. I was also accused of "choosing to destroy a reputation over a little misunderstanding". I have a reputation too, and I would never write something that wasn't true. I cannot share my long-winded response here because of text limits, but needless to say I felt I was minimized and intentionally made to feel like crap, which is *never* what I did with my review. All in all, I would never intentionally hurt anyone or their business, but at the end of the day if someone isn't equipped to provide 5-star service to everyone, handle an issue in an appropriate way, or receive negative feedback, they should not be on Yelp. read more

Natalia and Divine Canine have been a complete life saver to me this past year. My Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix has a lot of energy, and a mild destructive streak that keeps him quarantined to the kitchen all day while I'm gone, so he can't pull the stuffing out of everything. So, when I moved to Chicago in October, I had to find a good dog walker asap. I loved that Divine Canine offered the beach playgroup everyday (rain or shine...or snow...or whatever Chicago throws at us next), and really just hoped that they'd be able to keep Buster from going nuts during his first Midwest winter and my accounting busy season. They have certainly done that, and so much more! Buster loves the time he spends with Julia everyday. The few times that I've happened to be home when he is picked up or dropped off, I can tell he couldn't care less that I was there, and just hoped Julia would stay and play some more. I also really appreciate the notes they leave about what they do during the day. On top of the awesome and reliable daily playgroups, they are great with boarding! Recently my flight was canceled on my way home from a work trip. I frantically called Natalia from the airport, who rescued Buster for the night on only a few hours notice. We used Divine Canine to care for our diabetic kitty while in Mexico and I cannot say how wonderful they are!!!!! From the moment we met Natalia for the initial visit we knew made the right choice, but they far exceeded our expectations!!! Not only did they take great care of our baby, but their daily notes gave us a glimpse into how he was without us. Our baby loved them just as much as we do, and we cannot recommend them enough. Natalia and the dog walkers at Divine Canine are the best. I have a job that is quite busy and I don't have the time to call and set up/cancel my walks. Natalia always accepts my dog's schedule via email which is beyond helpful. They are also very understanding and flexible. I have been a client of Divine Canine for over two years now and I can't imagine trusting anyone else with my pup! I love the progress notes of how the day went when I get home, the google calendar walk notifications, and the easy way to pay with Chase QuickPay as an option! They make it so easy! read more

We have been with Natalia (Divine Canine) for quite sometime. I can honestly say that she and her crew are as good as it gets. If our dogs good talk I am certain they would say the same thing. In fact we seldom mention the word Natalia in our home because Cedar, our 10 year old boxer/lab, starts jumping up and down like a puppy. Of all our dogs Cedar has been with Natalia the longest and she is by far the most well behaved, well trained dog that we have. The dog almost seems to have developed a sixth sense. Natalia is a 'dog whisperer'. One final note, she is always there to help us in any way possible--even on short notice if she can. This is the best person and place for any dog. read more

Divine Canine is hands down the best dog walking, sitting etc. business I have ever found. Natalia is awesome. I hand picked Natalia, after being unemployed I would go to the dog beach daily and would see all of the dog walkers who would bring dogs to the beach. Natalia was the only one I would trust with my dog. I saw one of them leave a dog at the beach as his van pulled away, horrifying. I knew that when I went back to work I would hire Natalia and I was never disappointed. You tell her something 1 time and she has it. Our dog PJ has a severe case of epilepsy and an always changing medication schedule, but Natalia handled his care flawlessly. As other poster's have said I'd give her more than 5 stars if I could. We just moved out of Chicago and looking for a new "nanny" for PJ has really made us realize how awesome we had it with Natalia. I could go on and on. Don't hesitate to hire her, she is the best. Very compelled to write this review. Two days before Christmas, I realized I would need to arrange for a sitter for my two cats, as I was leaving the country for more than a week. I'd never done that before, and I'm so grateful Natalia/Divine Canine was available. She came to visit and discuss all the details and they took to her right away. While I was gone, she checked in to let me know that all was well, confirm my return date, and that she picked up some extra cat food, as I hadn't provided quite enough. My flight back to the states was then cancelled at the last minute, and she didn't hesitate to schedule a few more visits (this was during a terrible snow storm in the city and travelling to my apartment was no doubt unpleasant). Again, she emailed to make sure that I would be returning the date/time we discussed, which i really appreciated, as opposed to her just going off our original plan. When I got home, it was obvious that they had been cared for extremely well; plenty of food and water, clean litter box, and they were at ease. I was worried because usually, I leave them with family while I'm away and they don't do well in those situations. Not to mention, one of the cats was in a shelter for a while when I adopted her, and she can become anxious pretty easily. But they were behaving as if they hadn't been alone at all, so obviously, she spent lots of quality time with them and they liked her! I've never put a review on Yelp, but I know how important it is for people to make sure their pets are safe and taken care of when they don't have other options. Driving them to my family's house has always been a bit upsetting for them, and I'm so glad that I won't have to put them through that again. Can't thank or recommend Natalia enough!! read more

Talk about long overdue..I have been using Divine Canine for probably 8 years. In fact, my sweet Zak is on her website. He's the westie with the antlers! Now I have another westie and I would never, ever trust anyone else to take care of her. I have used many boarding places out of town and one before I met dear Natalia and I just feel Natalia is just so invested and responsible. I know Fergie is is such good hands and Natalia takes special care. You don't have to pay extra to have your dog exercised as in some other dog sitting places. And her staff has always been responsible, professional and caring people! I want someone to take care of my dogs who I can absolutely trust! When I get back from travel, there's my dog waiting patiently for me. That is such a treat for me, too! I would recommend Divine Canine to anyone who wants a caring, loving place to board or have their dog walked. read more
