Hands down the best gym I have ever gone to! I have tried out the usual chain fitness centers, but nothing can compare. For starters, the studio itself is adorable! Being an all women's gym takes the awkward element out that some experience. The instructors are young, fun and motivating. And they have classes to fit just about everyone's liking and needs. Be VERY careful if you wander into this studio. I walked out of a class that told us to "Force the stretch. You should feel pain." And "It should hurt." I haven't heard directives like this since Jane Fonda in the 1980's. Granted, this person was subbing the class, but when I told the owner, I got little more than a shoulder shrug. It's a cute place and they mean well but it's not all that professional and you could get hurt. read more

Diva Den is amazing. They have the absolute best instructors in the NW. Gina Grant's Zumba class is something that I look forward to every Tuesday. I take vacation days from work to be there. That's how amazing this class is. We are so fortunate to be in a class with an international celebrity! never had more fun sweating and dancing than in her class. Also Turn Up classes with Gina & Dahrio are Bomb and so much fun. Valerie who greets all of us when we get there to workout is so kind and accommodating. She goes above and beyond. This place is amazing, I don't know why you would go anywhere else! Upon walking in, the girls are there to welcome you with smiles. Getting started is simple, filling out the paperwork takes about 30 seconds and then it's to the dance studio. We went there for a bachelorette party and the dance instructor, Keli, was very accommodating. The steps were sexy, fun, and because Keli was such a great teacher, easy to follow along. I Love Love Love Diva Den! I'm 40 years old. I thought I was probably too old to be trying these fun classes and I love it! I have taken a Beginner Pole class with Kristin and now I'm in an Intermediate Pole class with Sunny. These ladies are awesome! So much fun. All different ages, all different shapes and sizes. The atmosphere is professional and fun. The instructors are helpful, encouraging, and very Knowledgeable. I highly recommend trying it. You won't regret it. Its Women only and all the gals I have met are wonderful. I've also taken Kristin's Body Conditioning class. Another great workout. I plan to keep trying new classes and I'm pretty sure I'm addicted. This place is pretty cool, except the childcare situation. Childcare is only offered for 2 hours in the morning during the week and that doesn't give much of an option to take classes if you have to bring your child with you. The other thing about the childcare is that it really isn't a childcare. Its a small area with a baby gate to section the kiddos off from the reception area. There were about 20 kids packed into that small area, with only 1 adult watching them all. The other thing that really bothered me was that I had to sign my child into the childcare, but when it was time to pick him up, they didn't have me sign him out or even make sure that i was the right person to take him. It was a little sketchy and I don't think I would feel comfortable using it again because of this. Other than that, the classes seem to be good and all of the staff was really nice. read more

This studio is the best looking dance studio around, beautiful bathroom with HUGE dressing room, posh clean dance studio, pole studio and welcoming lobby area. I am very impressed with how they decorated the space. I took only 1 drop in pole dance class here, and though I had a good time, there are a few things that keep me from saying it's a 5 star place: 1) Their online payment system is SUPER weird and hard to understand. They mention being able to purchase a pass for multiple classes, but there is no place on their website to do that, it appears it is only set up to purchase one class at a time. That said, I had questions about registering for upcoming classes or purchasing that pass in person, and was told "ALL PAYMENTS ARE HANDLED ONLINE". 2) Dates are not listed for upcoming classes like the Beginner Pole series I was interested in taking had no dates listed online so I simply decided to take a series at AN ALTERNATIVE studio. These are really the only 2 reasons I have been taking classes elsewhere. If there system was more user friendly, or they simply ACCEPTED MY CASH IN PERSON I would be back sooner rather than later. read more

I just moved to Portland from LA and when I found out I was moving I had two thoughts. 1. I will really really miss my friends 2. I will really really miss my zumba instructor! Just when I thought I would never have the amazing zumba experience I had in LA, I found diva den. I absolutely love this place. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. The classes are intense and I leave red and sweating (which I love). The music is very good, not the junk they play at my regular gym's zumba. I absolutely love Diva Den! I discovered them almost two years ago when searching for fun cardio classes set to modern music. I wanted something that really got my heart rate up, but didn't feel like working out. Hello, Dance Party Hustle! This class is the highlight of my week. The 60 minutes FLY by and I leave feeling like I ran a marathon, but loved every minute. The class is follow-along style, not learning choreography - but the routines are repeated week to week, so you get to learn the moves. Every week or two, a new song is introduced so it always keeps class fresh. Sid is AMAZING and easily the best instructor I've ever encountered. Started going here about a week ago because I need more accountability in my workouts. The classes are diverse and the staff is friendly, fun, and motivating. So far they've been very good at encouraging me to get out of my comfort zone while making me laugh in the process (even at 5:30 in the morning). I'm not going to lie, after the first class I was so sore I could barely walk. Each class after has been equally challenging but I'm already starting to feel myself get stronger and my energy increase. This is a special place. Not just a gym or dance studio but a community. I have been embraced, challenged and motivated the first day that I walked in. The women that work and take classes all have the same goal in mind. Be healthy at whatever stage of life you are in! It is fun and a great place to stay active. I love the variety of classes, from dance to bootcamp. One of my most favorite classes is Dancers Body and Bootycamp. Both can be high intensity but also work those problem areas on a women. One of my favorite parts in the childcare. The fact that my son asks if he can go is something I can't resist. This is my happy place. I love being here. All of the instructors and staff are sweet and encouraging. Such a great vibe from with being an all woman's facility. With it being such diverse group- everyone fits in. I always feel comfortable here. Some dance classes are in dim lighting so my lack of rhythm doesn't feel judged and I can just have fun! We had a private party for a bachelorette party this weekend, and it was FANTASTIC! We did the strip tease class and was probably the best choice we made all evening! We arrived a little late because we all managed to get lost but Keli (our instructor) was great and patient as we rushed to get ready. I LOVE this fitness studio!! I was first hooked by the free week of fitness classes in the fall of 2009 and I have never needed to go anywhere else to meet my fitness goals and I'm still a dedicated member. There are so many different types of classes that anyone can find a class they love from yoga to pole fitness to boot camp classes. It becomes addicting because you also become a part of this community of women from every walk of life where you also build friendships and a support system. I love being surrounded by strong and empowered women who put so much effort into maintaining healthy lifestyles to manage their stress and anxiety from everyday life. Diva Den is amazing, inspiring, and butt kicking. I stopped going for a few months, for various reasons...one being I was convinced that I could find an exercise studio closer to home that I liked just as much. I live in downtown Portland, and I was convinced that there must be something. I was totally wrong, there is nothing that even comes close, and I tried. Diva Den, oh where to begin. I was lucky enough to snag a Living Social deal, 20 classes to be used in 30 days. I'm about two weeks in and 20 classes in 30 days is going to be an easy accomplishment at this place. I can't speak to the pole or Arial yoga classes as I haven't taken them... yet. The fitness classes and every instructor I've met however are amazing! Don't let the girlie décor fool you, these classes are tough. Tougher than most any other class I've taken. In Boot Camp they offer modifications so you can work at your pace. In Sid's phenomenal Dance Hustle class she lets you know if at any time she is doing something you don't like or something uncomfortable to free-style it. They offer yoga, pilates, barre, hip-hop, Zumba, Samba and everything in between! The instructors are very motivating and really seem to care about everyone. Other "Diva's" come in all shapes, sizes and ages. There is no judging and all have been friendly and welcoming. In summary this really is Just a fun, friendly environment. They offer a free week, I highly suggest you try it and try every class you can during that week to really see how incredible it is. read more

Came here recently for a bachelorette party and everyone had SUCH a great time!! We did a private party which was nice and made everyone feel more comfortable. Our instructor was very fun and walked is through a sexy walk/crawling routine, a couple of pole moves, then finished with a lap dance portion. It was great because we could take it as serious or as silly as we wanted and everyone really enjoyed themselves. read more

This is a great friendly place to go to step up your fitness and have fun. I have taken a variety of their classes, never disappointed. I dont feel on parade or scrutinized when I go there. Just one of the girls going to dance (while your teenage kids are NOT watching) and get a workout. This is a place where a 50 year old woman go and learn to twerk. This place is incredible honestly it deserves 5 stars there's a reason for the 4 Ill explain that later. First of all I have taken pole dance series here twice both times with Kristen she is amazing and sweet makes you feel sexy even when you're not and knows that pole dancing should be fun and doesn't criticize every move you make . I can't even explain to you what an amazing teacher she is she doesn't crush your soul like other dance teachers. so the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is price very very expensive. I don't mind paying $150 for six week class but I would like more than 1 hour class a week they should throwing a freebie class here and there. and their monthly fees foemr the basic classes, there is no way I could ever afford that. & I really want to. the other reason for the 4 star is because I had a sub when Kristen couldn't make it to one class, the sub criticized everybody so much that I didn't even want to do any of the twirls because I heard everything I was doing wrong and not given a single compliment and so was every girl in the class. I go to the gym at the community center where I live 3-4 times a week in the mornings before work. I wanted something else to add to the evenings for me to do after work. I decided to look into zumba and had found diva den and another place in portland. What attracted me to the diva den was that it is diva's only and the location. After I found it online I kind of forgot about it. One day sister comes home around 745 and told me she was trying out one week free classes at the diva den. She kept going and said it was really fun. After a week I decided to check it out. I love it. My favorite class is Mondays at 630 with Rosie!! I love the music she plays and the dancing is so fun it doesn't feel like you are working out most of the time. I bought a 10 class punch card for around 85.00. I used that up in less than 3 weeks and it a little annoyed with myself because if you commit yourself to 6 months you get unlimited classes for 75.00 a month which is what I have now. I had to take a month off due to a car accident I was involved in but I just the first class on sat again. I was able to "freeze" my account while I was recovering from the accident which was nice. The diva den was that extra workout I was looking for and I am so glad I have a membership here! I go about 4 times mon-fri and then I take a half hour arms class on sat and zumba. I love love love the instructors as well. Keli is so nice and her classes are pretty intense! Try their one week free offer and go to as many as you can! read more

I scheduled a private Burlesque class for a bachelorette party and it was PHENOMENAL! Syd was our instructor, she was amazing. She made all of us feel extremely comfortable, walked us through a great dance routine, and really felt like she was a part of the party. This class brought all the girls out of their comfort zone and set the tone for the rest of the night! This is the ONLY gym that I have ever been able to go to regularly. I usually get bored of exercising and give up after a month. This isn't the case with Diva Den. The classes are different every week, so you never get bored. I love the dance classes with Megan and the toning classes with Kelli. The instructors are professional, but very approachable. The music is current, the people are friendly, and the workouts are killer! I LOVE working out for the first time ever. I've been going for almost 2 years now and I don't see any end in sight. I started going to Diva Den for personal training with Keli. I was starting out as an obese desk jockey, and I knew that I wanted a women-only gym where I could the kind of attention and personalized help that you just don't find at big chain gyms. Keli is amazing and encouraging and working with her is great. She definitely pushes me, and I've seen results! I've started attending her Cardio Blast class and highly recommend it. I'm not remotely coordinated when it comes to rhythmic movements beyond a mouse and keyboard, and I was really nervous about a dancey exercise class. I still struggle with some of the moves, but Keli is a patient teacher! The class is challenging and you definitely get a great workout in 30 minutes. DivaDen is a lifesaver and very affordable compared to classes at other gyms and you can register and pay online for added convenience. Buy a punch card and go for a class! read more

I LOVE this fitness studio. They have so many classes that you will never get bored! Classes range from yoga, pilates, barre, strength training, bootcamp, hip hop dance, zumba, and even pole dancing classes. Compared to other studios in the area, I think they have very reasonable prices, especially considering the wide range of classes they offer. Just finished up my free week of classes and I love it! There is a great mix of women that are in the classes, the instructors are fun and energetic, and there is a good variety of classes offered at various times. The classes are at a good level because they are challenging but you are allowed to take breaks etc if its too challenging without anyone freaking out. LOVE IT! I highly recommend taking advantage of the free week of classes and trying as many as possible to see what is up your alley. Overall, Ive had a great experience and a lot of fun :) read more

It is a great community of women who are encouraging and supportive. The free daycare definitely pulled me in! I want to comment on this studio. I absolutely love the instructors and atmosphere and I do Zumba mostly. Minus one exception- the front desk lady (older dark haired gal) that has been there a while is extremely rude and snobby. Like said in previous comments this place would be a 5 if it wasn't for her attitude. I don't know what it is but she is nice to some and completely ignores others. If I were he manager I would have a serious talk with her about customer service. And it hasn't been a single instance and just me. I have been going here over a year and seen her with others. read more
