I ordered the Massaman Curry without the cashews and my Fiancé ordered the Drunken Noodles! Both were very very tasty! However, I wish I had ordered the drunken noodle lol. Lots of Flavor and a nice portion size! The Massaman was good, just not as flavorful as the noodles. Our waitress was very attentive & informative about the different dishes my Fiancé was interested in & helped him make a very good decision lol. Overall, District is very tasty. I would go back for the Drunken Noodles & possibly other dishes on the menu. District III is located in a prime spot with plenty of foot traffic. I was eager to try this place as I expected great things from a place in the same "district" as rumis, south kitchen, etc. The menu is filled with Thai and Vietnamese options which I thought was an interesting choice. I usually opt for Pho or Vermicelli whenever trying a new Viet restaurant. Was surprised to not see a pork option for the vermicelli. So I moved on from that option and landed on Nam Tok (beef salad), but upon asking the staff if it came with rice (how id usually eat beef salad at home) they told me it's a salad and isn't ate with rice. In an awkward couple of seconds I panicked and chose pad Thai. In the end my table ended up with fresh spring rolls, pad Thai and panang Curry. Overall, the food was good, but nothing you can't get anywhere else cheaper and similar quality. The fresh spring rolls did stand out though. I'm not sure if they steam the rice paper or what but it was super soft and probably close to the best Ive had in Atlanta. The staff was nice and attentive and the place does look great overall. With a surplus of options in the area I'm not sure if I would visit again considering the phenomenal Vietnamese and Thai restaurants in Atlanta. I'm a little confused why this is listed as a Vietnamese place when the majority of the menu seems to be Thai minus a couple of bowls of pho. The food overall is okay but super overpriced, as is expected of any restaurant in/around the Avalon. The service is super nice and the manager was walking around all night making sure everyone was doing well. My husband loved his crispy basil duck, and I took him for veteran's day so I did not tell him his dish was almost $35 I kind of feel like this restaurant might be having an identity crisis and wants to do multiple Asian cuisines without really mastering any of them. They are also very protective of their rice and give our pretty small bowls of it lol. Plating is nice and everything seems upscale but isn't. The tofu pad Thai was a mixed plate for me, I felt the tofu was awesome but the noodles themselves were too soggy and clumpy. We've known about this restaurant in the Avalon for some time and finally got to try it!! We will certainly be back many more times. I was extremely impressed with the food and service. Our waitress, Annie, was super sweet and kept the refills coming. We tried a number of different dishes on the menu. The dishes we ordered were the Massaman Curry with Chicken, Pineapple Fried Rice, Drunken Noodles with Chicken and Pad See Ew with Chicken. Checked out District III in the Avalon for a weekday dinner recently. They were a participant restaurant in the date night at the Avalon. So for that they had a limited menu of items for us. We decided to go with shrimp rolls for an appetizer that came with a sweet chili sauce. That was really good! For my entree I got the District III steak. It was really good and came with a Thai sauce and sticky rice. I had enough to take home. For desert we got the sticky rice mango which was so good! The customer service was really good and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu! read more

It was not as pictured and it look like a fajita instead- with chewy, overly-cooked beef with no flavor of char or seasoning. The sauce tasted like water. Papaya salad had one flavor: sweet. They are missing lime and spices....this speaks nothing of Vietnamese cuisine. We will not return or dare recommend this to our worst enemy. Stopped by after a little retail therapy to enjoy a light lunch at District III. We started with cool cocktails and ( served hot) appetizers. The Walnut shrimp served with candied walnuts on chopped lettuce is wonderful. Just wished more of the sauce hit the lettuce. Plus a nice shredded lettuce instead of chopped makes for a beautiful presentation. The second appetizer was the shrimp and pork egg rolls. Hot crispy and very tasty when dipped in the light sauce. Excellent choice as a starter. The Entrees we selected were the Shrimp in garlic sauce over noodles. The sauce was light and very garlicky. The shrimp were perfectly pink. Then the D3 pad Thai spot on with the sweet sauce, crushed peanuts and bean sprouts plus egg. The location is wonderful, the ambiance beautiful. The staff was very friendly. Bring your patient especially if you have kids the food does not come out super fast. But when it does it is so worth the wait. My review is based solely off of takeout. I never dined in the actual restaurant I got the roti, shrimp egg rolls and shrimp garlic noodle. The roti was okay but small for $5 that Doordash had starved for it. Egg rolls were the best part of my order. Tasty and not too greasy The garlic noodle is where I struggled. For my taste, I didn't enjoy it. They did not skimp on the garlic at all - that was all I got. It overpowered any other kind of flavor that the food had. I like the flavor of their foods, but I feel like it's a bit overpriced for their portions (I'm looking at you, seafood clay rice bowl). This used to be our favorite place for Pho without having to go to the OG spots in Duluth, but after our last visit almost a year ago, we haven't been since due to the quality and taste having been pretty "off"...but we swung by today to see if it would be the same experience or just a random "off day" that last time, and it'll definitely be our last. District III has always been a very bougie, overpriced place to have pho, but given the location, it made sense. Since Duluth is much further for us, we usually just make the trek out to Avalon for pho there. You can notice a few changes on the menu with dishes re-named, or just off the menu entirely. I ordered the usual Pho Tai, when previously it was Pho Filet Mignon. Similar price as well...when we got our Shrimp Spring Rolls, we noticed that the Sriracha sauce was still some off-brand one, and we all know it'll make or break your soup! Now with the random shortages going on, I could see how they may have not gotten their supply yet. I then asked for the chili oil that you have to ask for, except for this time they said it'd be an up charge...that's when I knew that management must have changed. We ordered a fried rice dish for the kids, their usual, but once we got the food, the presentation was no longer the same, and neither was the pho as well. For what we ordered, it was on par with what you would expect to get at a grocery store food court...and still, the pho places inside the grocery stores will never up charge you for extra sauce, garlic oil, etc., and you better bet they would have found a better alternative to the off-brand sriracha that District was serving. Came here for lunch during the holidays shopping season and came in with a group of 8. The waiter we had was juggling another large table so it took a while to take our order, get our drinks, but he was friendly enough. The shaking beef with rice was delicious and had tons of flavor in the marinade. Watch out ordering Thai tea with no ice as they charge $1 extra which is okay but they don't tell you that. We ordered the Mango Salad, Chicken Clay Pot, and the L.A. Street Corn. The mango salad was really refreshing and had tons of flavor. I loved the hint of mint throughout the dish. The L.A. Street Corn was delicious as well and the corn was cooked perfectly. My husband enjoyed his chicken clay pot, but it was more soupy than we expected it to be. No complaints on the food from what we had. The reason for the four stars instead of five was the service. Since it was a nice day we asked if we could sit outside at one of their tables on the sidewalk. The server walked us to a table that still had crumbs on it and no silverware. He proceeded to bring out the menus and place settings and set them on the dirty table. We asked if the table could be cleaned first and he said yes but we just moved to the clean table next to it. It was meh... The crab fried smelled a little fishy but was well presented. The flavor was pretty bland but had a nice level of heat( spicey) to it. My son liked his salmon with rice though he said it had too many onions. Their decor is great and our service was nicely accommodating. We thought to get pho, but it was too hot today for it. We had the lettuce wraps- they were good- a little messy to fix up but tasted good. Definitely liked the sauce. We then shared the shaken beef. We both liked the flavor but the beef was tough to cut up (certain pieces) and you don't have a knife so was just hard to eat such big chunks. Service was good. Decided to come here because they had a lot of gluten-free options (I'm gluten-intolerant) on the menu. Halfway through my entree, my stomach started hurting, and I couldn't finish my meal/lost my appetite. I don't know why this happened because I ordered everything gluten-free. When they brought out the spring roll appetizer, it was wrong (shrimp, but I asked for tofu), so I sent it back, and instead of taking our order before she left to correct the appetizer, she took the order when the correct dish was ready to bring back, so we had to wait even longer for our main meal. The food was just ok; I've had much tastier when it comes to vermicelli bowls. GF Calamari: I recommend this appetizer; it's crispy and tender but the pieces aren't the usual circular shape which surprised me. comes with a side of pickled carrots too. Tofu Fresh Spring Rolls (GF): tasty, but too much lettuce. I don't like when they put shredded lettuce in spring rolls-it's much better with cabbage or larger pieces of greens. Sadly I couldn't have the peanut dipping sauce because it wasn't gluten-free, but I liked the plum sauce. Shrimp Vermicelli Bowl (GF): they omit the egg roll, so the rest is gluten-free. Came with vermicelli noodles, lettuce, carrot, cucumber, peanut, and the sauce. It was not that flavorful, and it was the same sauce that came with the fresh rolls), so honestly it felt like i was just eating a deconstructed fresh roll. I've had much better vermicelli bowls. Ordered pho and vermicelli and the simplistic, meaning bare table, was cumbersome, especially when the servers couldn't keep up with the lunch crowd. There was no silverware even though food was out, no sauces on the table, nor any veggies for the pho until it was requested. You're charging twice as much for these dishes with the essentials all hidden... On top of it, vermicelli was dry, especially the pork, and pho broth was too thick and salty.
