Definitely a different experience, but a good one at that! The rooms are super clean, and the receptionist (Morgan) was cheerful and friendly. As for the experience itself, it was very relaxing! I'm pretty sure I was drifting in and out of sleep the entire time, but the benefits are definitely noticeable. I came out feeling very relaxed, and the feeling still persists (3 hours post-float). I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking to unplug and get some true relaxation for an hour! read more

I'm sitting in the parking lot for an appointment at 4:30 and the place is closed!!! We arrived at 4pm and thought we were too early? Waited 25 minimum and just checked and still locked. I'm mortally disappointed. No phone call to cancel, no note on the door. Nothing!!! My first experience here is nothing but a disappointment. We called several times while waiting and just got the answering machine. Update. This happened Saturday Oct 26 and Monday Oct 28 still no call back from our left messages. read more

This is a brand new business, and is the first float spa in the Harrisburg area. The closest one to Harrisburg for a long time was Hagerstown, MD, and while I badly wanted to give it a try, the distance was prohibitive. When I heard Dissolve was opening in Camp Hill, I couldn't wait! I found a Groupon deal, and booked an appointment for their 4th day open...on 5/20/16, I went to my first ever float. I called Dissolve ahead of time, to see if they had a fridge...I had a party I had to go to (5/20/16 I was celebrating a personal milestone), but didn't want to cancel my appointment due to the food I had to pick up. They don't have a fridge, but were able to help me out. This is above and beyond the expectation of customer service...so even before I walked in the door, I was impressed by this new place. From the road, this building is very plain and not really welcoming. I am guessing that is something on their "to do" list. When you walk in the door, that impression completely changes. The lobby area has glowing salt lamps, a clean, spa like feel, and immediately creates a feeling of peace. My float experience: I was shown into a bright clean private room with a shower (with shampoo/conditioner and shower gel on the wall), and the big float pod. A thick, plush robe was hanging up on the door, I was given towels, a set of earplugs, a spray bottle of fresh water, a small pool noodle to use behind the neck for support if needed, and instructions. I was told to lock the door from the inside, put in the earplugs (they are easier to put in while your ears are dry) get a shower and wash my hair. Be CAREFUL when leaving the shower, as the floor is slick. After my shower, I climbed into the float pod...a roomy "tub" with a lid, filled with body temp (or maybe a little warmer?) water HIGHLY salinated with Epsom Salts. The pod has a blue light inside, the lid can be closed or left open, and there was meditative music playing, which I could turn off if I chose. If someone chooses, they can wear a suit to float, but most just go naked. (The room is totally private, and locked from the inside..so why not?) I sat in the tub and then laid down...and floating was immediate. There was NO effort involved...just put the small pool noodle behind my neck, pulled the lid down and turned off the light (my choice). At first the light from the outside room was seen around the gap between lid and tub. The outer room apparently had lights on a motion sensor though...so when I opened my eyes a few minutes later, it was totally dark..but I could reach up and lift the lid, and the lights came on immediately, so it was not as anxiety causing as I expected. I allowed myself to float, and was amazed at how it felt. Unlike floating in a pool, there was no effort or thought involved in floating in this water due to the salt. I was completely held up, and there was no pressure on my joints. I had pain relief for the first time in a long time, especially in my back. When I noticed muscle tension, it was because I was still actively tensing those muscles, not trusting the water. When I was able to let go, it was soothing. I left the music on. With earplugs in, it was muffled but still relaxing, similar to the music I'd hear while receiving a massage. Being without distractions is a really unusual experience for me. I wasn't connected to my phone, my email, my watch...I was just in a comfortable water, not too hot or cold, weightless and relaxed. When the 60 minutes were over, the pod played a recorded voice letting me know my time was over. I got up and showered, dressed and felt good. Lessons learned: I have two more sessions to go. Next time I will arrive 20 minutes before my float time, and leave plenty of time afterwards to enjoy the hot tea Dissolve offers post-session. I will bring my own shampoo/conditioner and shower gel (just because I prefer my own products..but the stuff provided was fine.) I made the mistake of having plans right after my float, so I wasn't able to enjoy the relaxed feeling..I had to dress and rush out. Staff was warm, welcoming and so happy with their new business. I look forward to going back and continuing to work on meditating, and being able to disconnect from my fast paced world for a little while. My back and neck anxiously await the next time I could be weightless and pressure free. This is a unique addition to our area, and I'll be back. read more

Long Story Short: A lot of little things ultimately made this an "okay" experience -- I will not be returning. My first experience with float therapy was in Ohio at "True REST" . From the time I walked in there, the experience was relaxing and inviting. Therefore, I expected the same experience at float therapy spas; was I wrong. Before even walking through the door of Dissolve Float Spa, I had to park. As I weaved down the precarious hill to the back of the building, I was glad that I drove my old 2008 vehicle. Unsure if I was in the right place, I finally saw an old, tattered sign that read "PARKING FOR DISSOLVE FLOAT SPA" . While there was plenty of parking, having to navigate this "alley like" back-end parking should have been my first red flag. But I continued. I pulled the black heavy doors and stepped inside around 4:10pm on Sunday. I was greeted by Emily who could not have been older than 20. She apathetically greeted me, then continued chatting with her friend who, the same age, was wrapped in a large blanket and had the same attitude. I was handed the iPad and filled in my initial information. Once I completed, I was told "Well, we're just waiting for other people to leave so we can clean" which made me feel like I was just next in line, rather than an exclusive experience like it felt at the True REST Float Spa in Ohio. I waited for about 10 minutes before my room was ready. I suppose I might not understand how a room is cleaned, but it did feel rather quick to clean a room after someone had been there before me. Emily walked me inside the room and quickly went through explaining everything in the room. I could tell she had said this same paragraph many times before and just wanted to finish talking. After she left, the 6 minute countdown started. The room was smaller than I expected, and everything felt cramped. I noticed rust along the door frame and broken molding nearby the basket with the towel. As I went to take a quick shower, I noticed I was only given ONE towel, instead of two as usual. As I stood in the shower and rinsed off, I noticed a puddle of water slowly flooding the floor and getting onto my sneakers nearby the door. At True REST in Ohio, I was given flip flops and the shower area has proper drainage so as to not get water everywhere. I completed the shower, took off all jewelry and proceeded to get into the pod. As the video I had watched explained (1:50 seconds into the video) "The room lights will go out automatically" -- therefore I did not turn off the lights. I attempted to get comfortable inside the pod. I turned off the lights and music inside the pod and used the neck support. As I lay there for 5 minutes, I waited for the lights to go off. They did not. I waited another 10 minutes. When I realized the lights did not shut off, I begrudgingly exited the pod to turn them off manually. I dipped back into the pod, trying to enjoy the remaining minutes of my float. Just as I was about to drift off to sleep, I heard a loud person cough and slam their door outside. I was jolted awake like this for the remainder of my float -- including the loud robotic voice inside the pod saying "YOUR FLOAT IS NOW COMPLETE". I definitely would have preferred music slowly fading in to full volume rather than a loud voice booming in my ear. I walked outside and found there was nowhere to really decompress. Once you walked out, you were in the lobby. The blue wave chairs did little to help as you heard all the conversations in the lobby. I walked in the lobby and pulled out my card, only to realize Emily was not there. She returned 5 minutes later and asked if I liked my float. I responded "sure". As I handed her my card to pay, she told me that the card I had put on hold for the reservation was charged instead and she had to refund that one and charge my new card. As I left the building, I cried. This was such a completely disappointing experience and all I wanted to do was relax. I wish I could have my $49 and hour back of my life. read more

I used to be a local and since then moved to Philadelphia, PA. I heard of Dissolve from a friend as well as have seen their Groupons regularly. On visiting my family for a few days we have been non-stop doing things, my anxiety and stress bouncing all over the place. We also decided to go to Hershey on a very packed hot day... needless to say my calves and feet feel it the most after a day of walking all over that park. I decided to try Dissolve after watching several YouTube videos including the one sent to me after booking my first float the day of (was awesome they had openings in the schedule and they don't demand an actual 24 hour book ahead). When I got there I was greeted by the woman at the front desk, she was helpful and did go over everything which was super nice. The rooms where the floating tanks are were clean and had everything you basically needed in there but I did bring my own towel and toiletries. The experience itself was interesting, I am tall and although the actual pod is huge I still felt myself bumping into the sides at times. There was a button for the blue lamp in the unit that turned it off and on. There was a second button for music. The music is not super loud and I struggled with wanting it on and off, but ended up leaving it on. The bathrooms had a good selection of stuff to use at your convenience after the soak. I would have to say that in just that session I feel more relaxed and my feet/calves are not sore at all anymore! This is something I definitely will try again and hopefully I'll be able to find one comparable to this in Philadelphia! My one tiny negative would be to make the tea/water station a bit more appealing with maybe fruit infused waters etc. Overall I have no issue recommending this place to others! read more

I liked this. Bought a Groupon for 3 only have done one. I was worried I wouldn't wake after my time was up but it was ok with the person prompting you with a recording. It took a bit to get adjusted but if you're worried about all of that do t be it's a different sort of experience you should try. read more

Was a little dubious since I can feel a little claustrophobic in small spaces, but the pods here make me feel like I'm in a very spacious bath. This was my first visit to a bath float spa and I felt very relaxed and comfortable. The showers are in the rooms, and take the tip to put your ear plugs in before you shower. Staff is super nice and explained everything so I felt ultra comfy as a first time user. You can use swimsuit or go au natural ... I went nekkid . The filters seem pretty high functional once you get out of the pod. Here you can control the light and the sound volume in the pod. I slept great that evening. My partner and I both tried it and we're going to buy the package as we'll be going back. read more

Here's a hint: if you don't know what a float spa/float tank is, don't come to Yelp looking for answers. Read John C. Lily's book(s) on sensory deprivation. "Floating" for ten years all over the country, the experience is fairly typical, the venues are different. They vary in price, they vary in staff, not much change in ambiance. I've been following the progress of this business since it was talked about ~1 year ago and it's the first float center I've been to brand new. Everything works. Everything is clean. Owner is great, staff is great. Yes it's pricey, yes it's worth it: like a 2 hour massage and a week at the beach (minus the hangover and sand) rolled into an hour long experience. 3 tanks for now, so the schedule fills up fast, but expect more tanks in the future. First impression! Horrible! Called and spoke with Sandra - I explained to her that I already purchased a Groupon worth almost $200. She explained to me that she would need my credit card information to make an appointment. I explained to Sandra - that I already purchased my package and she was more than welcome to have my Groupon information to take that away if I don't show up LOL - who doesn't show up for an appointment already paid for Sandra did not care, nor was helpful with trying to make the situation better. AND TRIED TO HANG UP ON ME!!! Horrible customer service!!!! Already in the process of returning my Groupon - I would never allow an establishment to talk to their PAYING customers that way! This "spa" feels cold and uninviting compared to others like it. The music is nice and the place does seem clean. However, the small details that really make a place feel relaxing and cozy were not there. For example, the chair in the float room was made of plastic and uncomfortable while changing. The area to get ready afterwards was just an average public bathroom (even my gym has better accommodations). As for the float itself, it started off really nice. It is a very neat experience and it makes for great relaxation. Unfortunately, about half way through my float, I became very nauseous, weak, and shaky. I did eat before going and I followed all of the recommendations provided on their website and brochure. However, I had to end my float early as I thought I was going to be sick and my blood pressure had dropped very low (maybe it is just that "relaxing?") Ultimately, when as I was leaving, the receptionist asked how it was, I told her what happened, she asked if she could get me some tea and when I kindly refused because I was still feeling sick, she simply wished me a good day. I heard about this before and saw a groupon offer. I researched it and decided to try it. It was AMAZING! Everything I read about the benefits, I experienced after my first float. I have bad knees and they retain lactic acid - the float removed excess water and lactic acid from my body and I was pain free (and free from that swollen "basketball" type feeling in my knees) for days afterwards.
