Ear plug options. Spray bottle in case salt gets in your eye.

Floating in a tank filled with 200 lbs of salt should be done right. First State Floats makes the experience better than a newbie like me could have imagined. Walking in the studio is clean and yes, shoe free. But during my stay, I noticed they mopped the floor before I headed out. Both the owner and the staff made me feel comfortable. I was taken on a tour of the place since it was my first time and while small, it houses 3 float tanks and a huge space that could be used for meditation/yoga or just a quiet place to hang after your float. I stayed in River, the first float room. It's bright and they provide most of what you'll need: body wash, shampoo and conditioner for your shower post and pre float, ear plugs, jelly for cuts which was inventive. They don't provide a hair dryer in the room but they did have microfiber towel for drying the hair specifically. The float was an experience. It is timed automatically so as soon as you lay down a voice prompts you that your session has begun. You can choose between lights or no lights, music or no music. The water in the tank is about 80, not too hot but definitely relaxing. A previous review states the shower is pretty lukewarm which was the same for me. I would've liked for that to be hotter to add to the relaxation. A nice touch outside my room was a bottled water and an orange. I had brought my own because I didn't know what would be provided but I that was very thoughtful ! My appt was at 3:30 I ended up leaving around 5:30. They didn't rush me out which was nice but i know they also need to clean up after me so I sat in the mediation area for a bit before heading out. First time floaters get a special intro price of $65! I would definitely go back. They even have a membership that seems like a great deal!

This was my first float experience and I have to say it was extremely relaxing. The vibe of the entire place is mellow and chill. The people who work there are very inviting and sweet! Everything was so clean and well laid out. I took a star away because the water temperature in my shower was luke warm making the experience... cold. I was also disappointed that there was a mediation area that couldn't be used during Covid. I understand of course but think there should have been a slight discount because all services weren't available.

This is the shower area, which is used before and after using the float.

I booked this float not knowing much about it. All I can say is wow. David and the team from first state floats really helped me out with some booking confusion. The experience was amazing. From walking in to getting oriented on how to do the float, they really helped every step of the way. Staff there is super friendly. I would totally recommend this as a gift to your significant other, like I did, or as a treat for yourself in these trying times. We plan on coming back soon!!

I floated today and the water was cold. The staff when told was rude. They didn't care and the membership benefits are false.

Super clean, extraordinarily calming. Spent a few minutes afterward in the meditation area with my fruit and tea. Can't wait to go back!

My favorite routine is to come at night, float for an hour, then use that massage chairs after. This allows me to unwind from any stress I had during the day and to sleep like a baby as soon as I get home. Not only does my body feel relaxed from the weightlessness of floating in water that is saturated with 1000 pounds of epsom salt, but my mind also gets a chance to rejuvenate in the relaxing, sensory-controlled environment inside the float room. I highly recommend floating to anyone who is looking for a unique way to relax or to help relieve back/joint/muscle pain. The facility is very modern, accessible, and always pristine. The staff is equally as great: everyone is friendly, informative, attentive, and they really help you to relax. The owners have outdone themselves with creating a welcoming environment where people can escape the stresses of the world. Shout out to Matt for being exceptional over the years!

Serena has been there to help me both times and is absolutely wonderful and knowledgeable. She knows what she's doing and gives just the right tips to make your experience that much better! I saw a deal on Groupon for 60 minute floating therapy along with a 15 minute enhancement. I'll begin with the staff. The staff members were very friendly and they greeted me upon entry and asked if I had an appointment. Once I confirmed my appointment with them, They offered me a shower cap and then one of the girls immediately walked me to the spa side of the salon. I'll be honest I forgot their names but they were friendly and nice nonetheless. Next is the place itself. The place itself is very very clean. I can tell that this place is fairly new especially since this particular location was hard to find because there is no sign called "the float spa". This location is actually next to Raymour and Flanigan in the Deptford town center plaza and you have to enter through the "Hello gorgeous" hair salon. once I saw the salon I actually did see a sign in the window but it can easily be missed by someone who is not as familiar with the area. My float pod was very clean and I can tell that they actually do clean in between guests. The lady who helped me was very informative and she provided me with everything that I needed for my stay including ear plugs and a cushioned floating neck rest which was very needed because I cannot flow on my own lol The floating experience is self was very peaceful and I actually did end up falling asleep lol it was very clean in there and it was very warm and comforting especially with the music and the lights. I cannot do lights off in there whatsoever because I am afraid of the dark lol After the float therapy I tried to shower and wash off the salt but that was a fail. I still ended up with salt in the crevices so I ended up showering again once I got home. after showering I was guided to the Hydro massage bed for 15 minutes as an enhancement and that was just the icing on the cake! I understand that this place is still fairly new but one thing I would recommend is to have an actual swimming cap maybe or something to protect our hair because not everybody wants to get their hair wet. the shower cap was a great gesture but still got a little bit of water in my hair. other than that my stay here was excellent and this place truly deserves five stars from me!

It's such a positive feeling knowing you have someone that is willing to take the time to listen and try out different techniques to help you feel the best!! Remedy offered several series packages for just about everything they offer! It's a great way to save money and get locked in with a certain package so you can have re-occurring treatments for less money! They offer facials, different massage techniques, acupuncture, floating and they even do bridal packages. So there is something for just about everyone!! I have been a client here for nearly two years and feel the massage therapists working here are…read moreoverall very skilled and professional. You can't go wrong with any of them and they're the real reason to visit this massage studio. The massage rooms and tables are extremely comfortable, the bathrooms are sparkling clean, and the float tanks are a really cool experience as well. There is a beautiful sauna area that's very Instagram worthy. All of the areas where you receive a service feel very serene, spa-like, and upscale. Meredith is a lovely person and makes really good use of aromatherapy and long holds or pauses in her massage that make you feel super relaxed and zen. She is certified in pregnancy massage and does a great job. Marcus has super strong hands, is ideal to see if you're looking for deep tissue massage, and makes good use of hot stones and warm towels. Ben is great as well, did some passive stretching along with the massage for tight areas. Karen seems to intuitively know the perfect amount of pressure to use and does the best head and face massage ever. My only complaint, and it's a minor one, is that the entrance and waiting area you sit in prior to your massage/float doesn't really match the atmosphere of the other rooms. I think it's a little too kitsch and cluttered and reminds me of walking into a small store that feels very casual and doesn't have the ambiance of the massage rooms. Unfortunately not very "Instagram worthy". There's a lot of stuff for sale that isn't directly related to massage or even wellness, such as bohemian style clothing, silver jewelry, wind chimes, etc. The Speakeasy room has relatively uncomfortable seating (there are two firm, backless benches and just two chairs with a low back), more displays of non-massage related things for sale (such as non alcoholic refrigerated drinks, candies, books, artwork, etc.), large displays of business cards and fliers for other local businesses, and dark furniture which just makes the room feel small and cluttered. You sort of feel like you are waiting in a shop rather than being a member at an upscale massage and wellness studio. The self serve tea display is really, really nice but just gets lost in the clutter/decor/fliers. And my only other gripe is that the infrared sauna is preset to a really, really high temperature (maybe higher than spa saunas I have used elsewhere) and I was told it doesn't allow for adjustments. I was excited to use the sauna but couldn't tolerate it more than a few minutes at a time. During my sauna session I simply had to exit the sauna every few minutes to cool off a bit. I realize this is maybe because I am a sauna newbie but I do wish there was an "intro to sauna" setting for those like me to use. In summary: great services, great massage therapists, kitschy entryway/waiting area design which is absolutely not a dealbreaker
