This is definitely my new spot and I have tried em all. Not only is this place super convenient and close for me to get to, but my experience was PHENOMENAL. From the minute I walked in, it was a great first impression. Very clean, well decorated and on top of it all Julie was kind and welcoming. Once the massage began the 5 star review was solidified, lol. I have a hard time finding massage therapists that apply the right amount of pressure, but Julie's was perfect. She was able to help me relax, but also super strong and able to really press into the knots that I needed more pressure on. Lastly the room temperature was perfect and that for me was the icing on the cake since I seem to always run on the warm side of things and many places that I've gone to are often a bit too hot and uncomfortable for me. So, If you're looking for a GREAT massage from someone who clearly knows what they are doing and pays attention to her clients, this is the place for you. I highly recommend it. read more

From the moment I entered the massage room, I knew it was going to be a relaxing, peaceful and restorative experience. It smelled sensational: there were diffusers in two corners of the room, the lighting was dim and scented candles were lit. I really enjoyed my massage with Julie the owner of the studio. She was friendly, informative and welcoming. She asked me questions about myself and gave me an opportunity to ask her questions too, prior to the massage. A foot treatment was part of the package, which I had first. It was warm foot soak with a wonderfully scented bath bomb, foot scrub and foot massage afterwards. Then I had a full body massage for 90 minutes-90 of the most blissful minutes I can remember ever having during a massage. The massage bed had a warming element to it, zen music was playing...It. Facility: cozy, clean, young "spa" chic STAIRS. This business is NOT recommended if you cannot navigate narrow stairs easily. Therapist: I don't remember his name but he claims to "know everyone" in the myofascial release massage community, was trained by some MFR guru, etc. I am always skeptical of people who have to roll out their resume, complete with name dropping, before starting the massage. When it comes to massage, your credentials apparently do not sync up with your actual skills on the table. Experience: lackluster rub down that was overshadowed with constant interrogation about my professional background. I apparently knew too much medical terminology and anatomy and this upset him. It upset him enough that he wouldn't shut up or stop trying to pry personal information from me during the massage instead of focusing on my chief complaints. For someone with ALL the education he said he had, I expected better skills and manners. It was an expensive disappointment. Miscellaneous: it's a tiny townhouse converted over to be a "studio" so you can hear everything. Including this character talking trash about me to the receptionist downstairs after the massage like a middle school adolescent. The fact that I didn't curse him out for being such a rotten massage AND trashing me to a stranger (to me) still amazes me. Recommendation: see someone else if you want myofascial release, or a male therapist. I don't know how the girls skills are but if he is the kind of male therapist they feel comfortable working with, I am sure their skills are on par with his. It's Delaware and it seems to have a huge problem with poorly trained and barely skilled massage therapists. This was fantastic. My best friend and I met in Wilmington for a girls' weekend and we were looking to do some self-care activities. Based on the high Yelp reviews, I scheduled with Julie at Telo, and I was not disappointed. The indoors of the salon is very warm and welcoming. Her massage was fantastic and very customized to what I wanted. Music was nice, table warmer was perfect for a cold day-- I don't have any complaints. If I ever find myself back in Wilmington (I can't imagine why I would, but you never know) I will make a point to come back here. read more

This review is long overdue but let's be honest, while I use Yelp surreptitiously ALL the time to research places, I'm not great with sharing my own opinion virtually (run into me at a bar sometime and I'll share opinions all night from over-tipping to the plight of health care in America to the fashion I saw on the bus that day; but those are other stories). So okay, time for me to give back to the virtual community and especially when it's such a great way to support small, fantastic businesses. Anyway, I was visiting my sister in June, which is what brought me to Wilmington to begin with. I was desperate for a quality massage that wasn't going to run up my student budget. And since I'm a big fan of the $15 Asian massages all over L.A., I'm especially spoiled about paying much but still getting very deep work. I found this spot via Yelp and even without any reviews, I decided to take a chance on it (the photos were a nice touch to make me feel comfortable about the spot, even though *some* might consider the neighborhood a bit more rough; totally fine for me, however, as I lived in Oakland for years ; ). I used a Yelp coupon: a bonus to get a discount on what would be a great massage. I parked right out front of this very cute converted-house-to-spa and was pleasantly greeted by the owner/massage therapist (SORRY: have since forgotten your name). The space inside is painted in those relaxing spa colors and comfortable furniture. She asked about my problem spots ahead of time and during the massage, she asked about pressure in different areas (which is always appreciated because some areas require deeper pressure, others softer). I found her hands firm and so relaxing that I think I fell asleep at some point. After the massage, we chatted for a while over tea about health care and eastern/western integration. It was a wonderfully needed experience and if I lived in the area, this would definitely be my go-to massage spot. read more

Massage is relaxing and healing. Julie has rejuvenated this senior body and provided relief to knotted muscles. I started with a 60 minute massage and now find the 90 minute session perfect for me. In addition, Julie provides some stretching pointers to use in between appointments. The sauna is also an additional option at TELO. My wife also thoroughly enjoys her massage time at 506 N. I went to Telo about a week ago and left thinking only great things about my experience!! The ambiance really captured the idea that simplicity is captivating and less is more, being that its a small spot in Little Italy that has exceptional services and products that you can purchase. Julie was the kind woman that provided my INCREDIBLE full body massage and foot and face exfoliator. I am usually one to get really nervous when people massage me, but she made me feel super welcomed and comfortable. If there is one thing I am upset about its that I didn't take advantage of the sauna and detoxing wraps that she also does!
