I didn't want to post this but in an effort to save the next person's life some pain I am going to. This massage hurt my wife. I don't mean the lady pressed a little hard and my wife was tender I mean she used her body weight and elbows to cause bruising on my wife's body and she felt the pain of it for three days after. I purchased a "relaxation massage" as a Christmas gift for her, what we got was not that. Upon entering we was greeted by an older woman with a very withdrawn demeanor, almost purposely mysterious and dark. She was guided into the room which in the pictures looks 1000% different. Check out the ones I posted opposed to the ones the site posted. This is in the back of a hair salon in a small room not the entire salon. In reality there were trash bags on the ceiling broken Xmas lights and a small end table caked in dust with a 5 and below crystal plug in light. The bathroom had peeling dollar store stickers and a mound of paper towels that looked like they hadn't emptied in since dinosaurs roamed the earth. The angry masseuse did not ask her any questions but instead began the medieval beating. I understand they feel things with the muscles and "know" what they are doing, but checking in with the client I would assume to be part of the job. I mean your hands are literally on someone's body and pressing into muscles and skin, communication should be common. I have had tattoo artist more caring about pressure on me. She used her elbows 95% of the time to hold in place and dig into my poor wife's legs, arms , and back. I was not there but from what she told me she was praying it was over 5 minutes into this weird situation. She didn't say anything to the woman because it was just an awkward situation, she came in to be relaxed and unwind and instead was subject to this lady experimenting what it seemed a technique she learned on you tube. She also mentioned there was a glade fragrance mister that every 5 minutes pushed out a puff of apple scented air, other than that no candles, no oils, just this angry ladies body odor which also was something she was combatting while subject to her hour long tirade of pain. The massage finished and without saying much the lady got up and left. My wife got dressed and on the way out the masseuse was sitting cross legged playing on her phone and said there's water, pointing to a luke warm Dixie cup. My wife declined the tepid water and reluctantly handed the woman $10 as it was just the nice thing to do. The lady said nothing, took the money, and went back to her angry birds game I am assuming she just reached the piggies level and we all know how intense that can be. Now you can imagine how embarrassed, angry, and disappointed I was to hear this after I was the one who purchased the massage wanting to help my hard working wife unwind. She came home upset with bruising on the back of her legs, arms, and back. She showed me what the lady did and as someone who is built of pure steel I was begging for her to stop. I couldn't believe it honestly. I messaged the owner Kim who was in disbelief but wanted to make it right by offering a re do with her. I set up a time and when that time came, our infant son got sick and we had to reschedule. I emailed her several times to re plan and was ghosted. I think she was hoping I would go away. Ill post the emails and dates on here if you would like to see. She finally messaged me back very defensive at this point I want nothing to do with this place. I asked for a refund but again ghosted no response nothing. I really tried to talk and make this better as we paid money for a relaxing massage and instead got some archaic elbowing. I am not sure if the masseuse was having a bad day or had some bad blood with my wife we are unaware of but I am definitely not happy. This woman seemed to have a chip on her shoulder from the moment my wife walked in. I get it, your gothic, you dance with metal circles on weekends, and you have a shaved head cool man....but relax. When someone purchases something called a "relaxation massage" and for 90 minutes its digging and ripping heavy elbows something needs to be done. I don't like being ghosted, I don't like being worked with as I have tried to work with this salon to make it better. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I am sure there are more professional, better equipped, smelling, and looking salons out there. I am disappointed it ended up this way and feel bad for any future clients. read more

I've had work done by all three massage therapists there and all have been very professional and have helped with my crontic neck/back pain. Unfortunately, I was not able to have that first massage. The online booking process was easy enough. However, within an hour of doing so I received a curt text message stating that they would not honor my appointment unless I completed the online form. I hadn't been aware of the form and stated so. Another curt message informed me it was emailed. The form asked for DOB, address, emergency contact, and other health information I prefer not to to provide online. I texted this and was told that if I wasn't willing to comply they would cancel the appointment. There were concerns about people trying to get illegal massages. I filled out the form and gave my full name, my address, and indicated the type of massage needed. Honestly, I've had massages at some of the best places in the world, in multiple countries and major cities. This was a first. I was basically accused of being ambiguous and unopen. I offered to speak by phone, and was told that was not possible because the person was in transit and they were not sure they would have time to call me before my appointment time. Mind you, this started around 10:45 AM and the appointment was for 3 pm. Likewise, if the person on the other end had time to send the impersonal and accusatory text messages, it stood to reason a three-minute phone call to clarify expectations and make an acquaintance seems to have been possible. Precaution is fine, but the impolite, bossy tone and unwillingness to speak rubbed me the wrong way. I could not imagine someone with that spirit touching me or passing such negative energy. Fortunately, I was able to book an appointment elsewhere. They had a receptionist who was able to speak by phone, they did not require I complete an online application, and treated me like a customer and not a pervert. They also are a therapeutic massage company and I'll be able to apply the session to my flexible spending benefits! I have no doubt that the masseurs are talented, but the poor communication style will prevent me from finding out. If interested in this location be prepared to fill out information about your date of birth, emergency contact, and medical/ massage history. You will receive an email. Don't ignore it and assume it's just a confirmation, or you you may receive a message that you'll be rejected until you go through a process you may not have anticipated. Be prepared to text, since there is no one to answer the phone. If the proprietors of this location would be open to advice I recommend being more transparent in the online booking process. Consider including the required questions as part of the booking vs sending a separate, unanticipated message. When engaging new customers, consider a friendly phone call. read more

I'm relatively new to massage having been uncomfortable with letting anyone into my "personal space" for most of my life. Brandywine Bodywork has won me over! I've enjoyed massages given by all three therapists. Each is uniquely skilled, professional, and kind and caring. I felt welcomed and valued as an individual with individual needs. After each massage, my mind has been as relaxed as my body - that's a tough feat for a Type A personality like me - but seems to be a common theme at Brandywine Bodywork. Hands down, by far the best massage, period! Kim is very intuitive and knows exactly what and how you need it. The table is very comfortable and the room is quiet, serene and very relaxing. What an amazing experience! This place is the best! Being a full-time mom and carrying around my son can be tough on the shoulders and back. This was my first experience with a massage. Upon entering the salon, I was lead back to the salon area. There was no wait time for my appointment. The environment was so peaceful and calming. My massage was definitely personalized for my individual needs and pain areas. After my massage I felt completely relaxed and rejuvenated. It really helped my back and shoulder pain. Kim is great and really passionate about her job. I will be returning and I would highly recommend the massage center to anyone! read more

Kim and Jill are both amazing at what they do! I received an hour full body massage last time I was there. The room was set up well to maintain adequate privacy during dressing and undressing, (and also had a private bathroom in my particular room, complete with shower!) it was peaceful and quiet, and a comfortable temperature (not freezing like some places can be). Maybe not important to everyone, but myself, being a bigger girl, I was so happy to be able to enjoy a sturdy massage table with cozy heated blankets that I didn't feel like I was going to roll off of when it was time to go from face up to face down. They were also super attentive, noticing that I was having some allergy/sinus issues that day, they incorporated some aromatherapy into my session which worked wonders! Seriously considering getting a body scrub next to help with my peeling summer skin. And my 8 year old daughter loved the products. I saw bath bombs, candles, and body butters. She also went in a restroom when we made the appointment and apparently "the peppermint soap is amazing!" Lol read more
