Found Oh LaLa on Groupon; couldn't be happier about my experience! One of the best massages I've ever had! Said was wonderful! I received a 90 minute Deep Tissue and it was amazing . I'm tight/tense all the time and Said asked several times if the pressure was good and hit all the right places to loosen me up. This was more a therapeutic massage than anything else; he used a mixture of pressure, massage modalities and stretching movements. I also had the anti inflammatory oil add on; it had a wonderful scent as well. There are several add on options, all reasonably priced (most look to be about $10). The spa is nothing fancy, nicely decorated in a Moroccan decor, clean and easy to find. They also have a wonderful selection of Moroccan gifts and Aragon oil. The massage itself wasn't awful, but the masseuse talked the entire time and was really pushing me to get a massage from her at least once a month, which really ruined the experience for me. The staff was very nice and accommodating, but the massage wasn't very relaxing and 4 days later I'm really sore. It would have been nice if the masseuse asked people if they want to talk or not during the massage. Typically that's what has happened for me with other masseuses and I generally don't want to talk - I just want to relax. Again, the staff was nice and accommodating, but I don't think I'll be back solely because of how much buying more massages was pushed on me during the massage. read more

I purchased a groupon for a "Moroccan Signature Facial with a 60-Minute Massage" a few months ago and was looking forward to redeeming it and trying this place out! I called to redeem it, left a voice message, and never received a call back so I went online and submitted a message through their website. Since purchasing the groupon I became pregnant and informed them of my status. They told me that they wouldn't redeem my groupon unless I paid an extra $20, which I declined. The reasoning was because they said their massages on groupon were only for a swedish massage or deep tissue; however, that is listed NO WHERE on groupon, the actual voucher, the fine print, etc. I informed them that the offer purchased only stated that it was for a "60-minute massage" with no specifications for the type so I shouldn't have to pay a fee for being pregnant. They told me "if you look at our other campaigns features, they all say Swedish or deep tissue . No where it say it could be for all type of massages." New customers shouldn't have to assume the details of the service as it should be listed if it is specific. Throughout my email conversations, with whom I'm assuming is a manager, the person was very rude and not accommodating. I eventually just called groupon and requested a refund. The manager is creepy and the masseuse is a nice person but not so skilled. She is the kind of masseuse that confuses brute strength with a good massage. You should not be in pain when you leave. The best masseuses can massage you hard but without pain. As for the manager, he reminded me of the guys in a nail salon hovering around. Not polite nor helpful, just proprietary. I was truly concerned after reading the Yelp reviews. Most of the negative reviews however, concerned Groupon's and not the actual service itself. Apparently, the Groupon reviews had great ratings from the customers who could actually get an appointment, which was my case. When I mapped this location through Yelp, I saw so many negative reviews that I was concerned about why I hadn't double-checked with Yelp- as I normally do when purchasing a Groupon. Yes, there is trouble booking online for a prepaid Groupon which causes the initial confusion. Also, the spa itself has a small front lobby near the massage rooms and so (it seems) they don't have a ringing phone in order not to disturb the massage clients. With the Groupon price for a microdermabrasion treatment so low- I'm not surprised they are booked out until the end of March. The service: Great facial and microdermabrasion treatment. I haven't received one before and will do another at a reputable day spa or clinic to compare the service. I am a very tense person initially, but the service room was VERY relaxing with a heated bed. The steam treatment was great and after the dermabrasion part of the treatment, the woman excused herself from the room for 10 minutes while the mask did it's job. Shortly before she returned I fell asleep! Literally, so deeply that I was certain my alarm was getting ready to go off and wake me in the morning! This has NEVER happened to me before. A 9-minute power nap? Made me wonder if there were opiates in the steam. Haha! It was so awesome I pre-paid and scheduled one for just before Memorial weekend. Make sure to get one by the lady at the front desk. Amazing! And whoever purchased a Groupon- just be patient and keep trying through email or leaving messages. It was frustrating enough for me- I swore I'd never use a Groupon again, but I'm the end I was more than pleased. Hope this helps. read more

This is a long overdue review. I met Said 7 years ago at the Philadelphia airport when I was traveling to the west coast regularly. I had serious neck and shoulder impingement issues from my time in service which were not resolving with typical body work and physical therapy. It was ruining my life and I needed relief. After one session with him I was so much better. I couldn't believe my fortune. I was so impressed that I searched for him when I returned to the east coast and was recovering from surgery in Philadelphia two years ago. His attention to detail and knowledge of soft tissue makes a huge difference. I recommend you check out his facility. I was pleasantly surprised by the warm inviting environment resembling his home in Morocco . It was a treat to be able to disconnect from the stress I was experiencing though physical therapy in Philadelphia and it worked for me as I was traveling home to Scranton during my treatments. My husband and I have been friends of Said and his wife Aline for years. Not only are they two of the nicest people we know but they are two of the best massage therapist we have ever had. They are both extremely professional and knowledgeable. Their new spa is beautiful and reflects their Moroccan heritage. They customize each massage every time we are there and we are extremely great full that they are not like a traditional one size fits all spa's. Every time we visit we are able to go as a couple which allows us to relax together. This last visit was extremely special as Aline gave me a prenatal massage and Said worked on my husbands sore back and provided additional stretching tips, which were much appreciated. I first discovered Ola Ola through Groupon. I was disappointed when I purchased a three pack a second time through Groupon and they would not allow me to use it as a returning customer. Great deep tissue massage! Actually, the best I've had in the Philly region. I've been to their old location 2x and the new location once. I know people have complained that it's hard to get an appointment and issues with groupons, but i have honestly never had a problem. The only thing about the new location is that i could hear doors clicking shut while my massage was going on. My masseuse, Carolina was so great. She discussed pressure level and answered my questions pre massage. Then afterwards, showed me stretching exercises that would help the tight areas of my body. HORRIBLE! I never give a review unless a place is amazing. I never feel the need to bash a business, especially based on 1 experience, however this experience warranted me to feel the need to do so. I purchased a Groupon deal for my friends birthday and what a let down and embarrassment. The therapist (who later we found out was the owner) text her at close to midnight the night before her massage (scheduled for 10:30 am) to "confirm" but also said he would possibly be 10 minutes late. He advised her to stay in the car until he came out to get her which is understandable, however when she continuously said she did not know where to park since she could not find him in the plaza he was NO help and only continued to tell her to wait in her car. He did however say he would still give her the full hour massage so there was hope of this being turned around. Once she finally located the place on her own the owner was horrible rude and refused to massage her saying she was late and she should have gotten an email with specific directions/instructions which she did not. He then told her I would need to contact Groupon (since I bought the gift) and there was nothing he could or would be willing to do. The whole experience which should have been a relaxing morning to herself was nothing more than a headache. I'm so disappointed her time was wasted and the OWNER was this rude and unprofessional. I purchased a Groupon, and so did my boyfriend. Called 2 months ago to try to book an appointment, but was told they were booked for months. Sent an inquiry via their website a couple of days ago and was told that if the two of us wanted massages at the same time in separate rooms, NOT a couples massage, we would be charged a fee of $40. Their reason? Because if we were to cancel, the massage therapists have different schedules and it would throw them all off. Okay, I understand that type of situation calls for a CANCELLATION policy, not necessarily a booking policy. I understand there are times COUPLES massages are charged an upgrade fee to be in the same room, but to be in TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ROOMS I AM CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL FEE? Sounds really greedy to me. I've called up Groupon, as their webpage never disclosed this type of fee/upgrade, and they've offered to let me exchange this crappy Groupon for something else. read more

I came here tonight for a 90 minute couples massage with my boyfriend at 5:30. It was our first time here and we will not be back. It wasn't until close to 5:35 when we were walked back into our room (we also arrived 15 minutes early with the forms already filled out). They basically took a divider away from in between two rooms so our beds weren't next to each other. Kind of weird. We were given time to get undressed but at least 10 minutes went by until our therapists came back into the room. Who takes 10 minutes to get undressed? The massage itself was fine. However, it was EXTREMELY unprofessional when my therapist, Said, left me alone for about 5 minutes in the middle of my massage to take care of someone out front. Excuse me??? I paid a lot of money for that massage and was absolutely blown away when Said did that. Can't even describe how unprofessional that is. They should try hiring someone so this doesn't happen again. Ohlala Massage is the best! I also had Carolina as a masseuse, and she is very skilled. She knew where my back was hurting without my even telling her! She discovered this in the chair massage I got at the grand opening of their new location. (The owner's parents came over from Morocco and helped serve food for the party--it was really sweet.) I decided to get a very well-priced three-pack of massages. I gave one as a gift, then got an hour one with Carolina which was so good that I went back and got a 90 minute one the second time. If there is ever any difficulty with a groupon I assure you the owner, Said, will go out of his way to help you. He is such a lovely person and a good masseuse also. I had a few massages from him years ago in his first location. He had just opened and was so excited about his Moroccan decor.
