A wonderful elementary school. The teachers, staff, PTO, help children be set-up for success.

This was our first and will be our last year at this school. I have no issues with the teachers, but the bullying needs to be addressed.

Double Peak School

Double Peak School

Double Peak is running a police state campus. I still have hope in the teaching staff but my I am…read morevery disappointed that the school has made a decision to allow the local Sheriff's Department bullies to I use their parking lot to profile and terrorize parents trying to pick up their children. At first they were supposed to be there to "help with traffic" and just stood at the intersections, but now they freely roam the drive through; tapping on Windows, taking your identification and handing out bogus tickets. Today, I was questioned about my country of origin by the officer who detained me and kept my identification for no less than 20 minutes while my children waited in the hot sun. The drive through already takes 25 minutes, so this was in addition to the normal wait. He was cocky and menacing at best. Of course, if I had little man complex and was angry about my low wage, self esteem and small degree---who knows? The attitude trickles down from the top. I attempted to park and pick my children up on the first day. There were barricades, set up and the parents were told ( quite forcefully, to back up and stand behind them. This made the pick up double in time. I'm not a stay at home mom. I work full time and support my children on one wage, so I have to make the pick up happen within one hour ( my lunch hour taken late ). I don't get child support, so a bogus ticket for a horrible traffic trap is not what any single parent needs to top their budget off either. It is completely within the power of the school administrators to create a more friendly, warm and welcoming environment for all people. My children find the environment hostile and I am sure others see it this way too.

I really love the teachers who work with kids with disabilities/special needs here. The teachers…read moreare so dedicated, enthusiastic, and they are the take-action type of people.

Sending our kids to Valley Christian School when they entered Middle School was one of the best…read moredecisions we've ever made as Parents. The only regret we have is not starting them there in Kindergarten. At Valley, our kids weren't just taught, they were Seen, Known, and Cared for. They were held accountable not only in their Academics, but in their Behavior and Values. The school helped shape them into kind, grounded young people who know who they are and what they stand for. What my Kids learned at Valley not only prepared them for high school, but also set their foundation as they grow into young adults. Our daughter, now a junior in high school, has carried the discipline and strong foundation she gained at VCS and continues to earn straight A's. She still stays close with the school, like I've noticed many former students do. That tells me a lot. Our Son, who graduated last week, came in as a quiet, average student who didn't have much confidence. Today, he's a straight A student and athlete. The basketball games are a lot of fun and I will miss them!! Most importantly, he's developed a very strong core value set and is confident, motivated, and ready for high school. As a parent, I could not ask for anything more. Mrs. Palm, the principal, is truly one of the most God-honoring women we've ever met. Her love for the students is real, and you can feel it in the way she leads...with strength, grace, and Deep Faith. She's not just a Principal; she's a Mom who treats the kids at her School like one of her own. The Teachers and Faculty have also been a tremendous blessing to our family. There's no way to fully describe the love and guidance our kids have received at Valley Christian. It's not something you see every day. VCS is much more than a school, it's a Family. We made an investment when we chose VCS, but God has returned it tenfold. He used this school to bless our family in ways we never expected and ways that exceed any monetary value. Thank you VCS, we are so grateful. Five stars ***** without question. Go Lions!

After having been repeatedly bullied by peers at the public school, and ignored by the administration there, VCS became his new home in seventh grade. He was immediately accepted and loved and was given an environment where he could grow and mature and learn and thrive. Thank you to all the teachers and staff... and a special shout-out to the awesome basketball coach, who is also the amazing principal's husband and school caretaker. VCS is a great school!

This is our neighborhood school and I am outraged. Our kindergarten son was beaten to a concussion…read morewithin the first 60 days after the school year while a student there. Courageously, he named the two children whom he said beat him and pushed him to down (during which he hit his head), he named an adult that was on duty whom my son claimed told the two children to stop and not to harm him any more, and he told his teacher, AND our son provided a consistent account of the assault to my husband and I, his primary doctor, and the concussion specialist. We'd already informed the school when our son sustained minor injuries in a restroom while children tried to bust in on him in a restroom talk to see his (to keep it PC) " brown genitals. He was teased because of his hair, his skin color, and more. We provided this information to the administration too. Nothing substantial was done. So when it escalated to this, it should have been simple to resolve and we should have received support for our son instead of being treated as if our son was the aggressor. The other two children who were named as those who hurt our son weren't harmed or in any danger at any time. Asking them "did they do it" as if kids don't lie wasn't even an uttered thought when it came to them, yet OUR SON was questioned and indirectly invalidated by the alleged notion that there was no footage of the matter--not to mention the alerting of child protective services after we let the school know that he'd had a concussion --that report was not filed when we first mentioned the incident to the school despite his bruises and our complaints! Yet, somehow school admin. claimed the only video footage they only saw of him that day was him coming into the office (after being prompted to wait there during pickup when his teacher "randomly" left earlier than usual that day). . . Still, no one seemed to notice the bruises on his face (black eyes) and the bumps and burn-like bruises on the back of his close-shaven head (it was hot that day). I am a graduate of this district from the 90's so my evaluation of the district, its history, and demographics are accurate and well-informed. Nobody knows anything, allegedly as they claim. The entire matter is dangerous and disheartening! All in all, the entire matter seems skin-color related (as we are all of the HUMAN RACE, right) retaliation given the admin. had been informed of what happened to our oldest and dared to allow similar treatment to our Kinder son in this way without extending true care and concern in our favor as the injured party. Out of 4 children, the only child I have that hasn't been assaulted in this district is my pre-K son who doesn't attend school in the district. I have material evidence to prove all claims made here, so I accept nothing but an apology for their potential negligence and I will continue to tell our story until our son receives the Justice and equal care he earned!

As usual the vice principal read me the standard " we have taken this incident script". I take my son to school everyday and the behavior of most of the at the before recess is atrocious. I did volunteered for a times but his 2nd class could barely read at a 1st grade level and it was frustrating for me as I was just wasting time. The playground supervisor can barely control those undisciplined students. This school will set your child back immensely if they can read at grade level they will be forced to wait for the students who cannot. I have gotten a report that the same boy has continued his bullying agenda.

They have art, Spanish and tech programs. The teachers and admin are very supportive. The staff is highly trained and if you check out site it is evident that there are cool things happening there. The negative review by one parent where he felt he was wasting time volunteering was funny, because if there were a lot of low readers than it would be very valuable to volunteer for. Don't let one negative comment fool you! There are tours offered to parents to find out about the program and to see for themselves.
