Finding a private school that balances academic excellence with character development can feel like…read moresearching for a needle in a haystack. For our family, EAA hasn't just been a school, it's been a community that feels like home. From the start, we could tell the teachers and the staff set up a caring environment where your child is seen, known, and cared for with respect and encouragement. The main areas that have stood out to us the most: 1. Excellence Beyond the Textbook - The curriculum here is rigorous and forward-thinking, but what truly sets it apart is the holistic approach. The teachers don't just teach for the test; they teach for life. Starting in kindergarten, every quarter each student had to prepare a presentation that would be presented to their K-1st classmates. By the 4th quarter, each kid was thriving with confidence in public speaking skills! From STEAM projects to the fine arts in musical performances for choir, band, and handbells, kids are challenged to think critically and creatively every single day. 2. A Foundation of Faith and Values - In a world that often feels chaotic, EAA provides a centeredness and steadying influence. The Christian values of service to others, integrity, and compassion are woven into a variety of experiences and community outreach. It is incredibly heartening to see your child excitedly talking about how they helped someone that day and lead with kindness. 3. Mentors, Not Just Teachers - The faculty here are small, mighty, and absolutely world-class. They are deeply invested in each student's personal growth. We have seen firsthand how the small class sizes allow for individualized attention, ensuring that no student falls through the cracks and each child, no matter how young or old, is encouraged to reach their greatest potential. 4. A True Community Atmosphere - When we first started here, we immediately knew we weren't just signing up to any old school; we were joining a supportive community. The parent-teacher partnership is phenomenal, and the sense of safety--both physical and emotional--is something we value deeply. We wanted a school that would prepare our child for a success: whether for life in general or a rewarding career, we wanted to ensure they would be taught more than just the ABCs and the 123s. We now know our child is being set up for so much more through an enriched foundation that provides the tools, resources, and critical thinking necessary for a meaningful life. We have found that at EAA where confidence, intelligence, and faith have been intertwined in the most fantastic way. If you're on the fence, take a tour. Talk to the staff. See the students at play. You'll realize very quickly that this is exactly where your child belongs!

The environment is amazing--safe, nurturing, and full of love. From the front desk to the principal, every staff member is incredible. And I must say, his teachers are absolutely wonderful. They work so closely with him, offering constant support, giving him countless opportunities, and helping him succeed in every way. My son is flourishing--he's excelling academically and growing in character, rooted in Christian values. I'm so thankful for this incredible school and the difference they make every single day in our lives.

They have no walkies to communicate with teachers or each other. They yell at you to pull forward when they haven't even asked the name of your kid for pick up. To ease the process I was told by office staff (at registration) to put my child's name/class on my dash. They're not even checking dashes. I got severe attitude and eye rolls for trying to ask if I should continue using the dash sheet. Disgusting behavior from people I have to leave my kid with every day. Shame on the staff member (who might've actually been the principal now that I think of it) that wouldn't get my kid to the car and just yelled. Take notes from oak hill and rose school for pick up asap. I shouldn't have to pull up to the very end of the loop when my child is RIGHT THERE and you're not asking or checking who my student is. People are going around as needed depending on which grade their student is in. I was being yelled at to move forward even when I couldn't!!! I wasn't about to stop in the crosswalk that nobody's even guarding.

As a retired educator, parent, grandparent, and volunteer I feel highly qualified to say this. During "Zoom" school the teachers went out of their way to help students. They would do 1:1 sessions of a child needed extra help. They worked from their classroom and their private home. They never refused to help to the limit. Once in-person instruction began all of them have been more than willing to give kids extra help and/or meet with parents to enable the BEST instruction be delivered to ALL students at ALL times. In the 20+ years this school has been open, the staff has done nothing but improve in EVERY way possible. I'm proud to be part of their community. Tamara Buckendorf
