Richland is a serious answer to prayer. The whole environment is dynamic and caring. We came from a well-known charter school where my daughter was bullied and the admin did nothing. Here, I feel like my daughter has plenty of caring adults keeping her safe and loved. I've been really amazed by the culture of care starting with the front admin, Ms. Chelsea who makes every single visitor feel welcome and seen. I've watched her navigate 6 different tasks simultaneously with poise, care, and professionalism. My only feedback to make this school shine brighter better would be to have more playground supervisors during recess and lunch and to get rid of the spinning "tree" that has broken multiple kids' arms. read more

I can't wait for my kids to go to middle school so we can all be done with Richland. My older child has had medicore teachers and the GATE program is a complete joke. They have a few STEM assemblies, but that is their idea of challenging students. The front office clerk (Chelsea) is as rude as rude can be. How she gets away with talking to parents and students with her obnoxious, condescending tone is beyond me. The staff and recess supervisors need to stop micromanaging the kids and getting on their case for every little thing. I am so grateful this is our home school. RICHLAND AND ITS STAFF ARE AMAZING! It is such a personal experience. The majority of the front office staff knew our names as parents within the first week including the principles who are out in the front helping with pick ups and drop offs every day. The campus is clean and beautiful and the staff are always thinking of safety first. I am a member of the student council so I meet with the principles and some of the teachers and staff along with parents on a monthly basis and I can tell you with absolute certainty they are devoted to our kids and their success, GENUINELY and whole heartedly, not just benchmarks and testing but that students feel safe and welcome. I honestly can't believe some of these reviews, it has definitely not been our experience. We are so grateful to be zoned in Richland's district and plan to never leave while our kids are in school here because it is hard to believe we will get a better school that meets the Richland standards. I have seen firm interactions between staff and parents when it comes to safety. For example when parents were demonstrating unsafe behaviors like Jay Walking at pick ups and drop offs, the principle Julie Barbara was personally out there stopping parents because a kid tried to do the same. I couldn't believe it when I saw a parent arguing with her about it! You better believe when I heard her talking firmly to that parent I was 100% happy she was standing up for our kiddos safety firmly without wavering. I have also seen her genuinely come to tears when going over statistics about kids survey responses that showed even a handful of kids reported not having a safe adult they could go to at home, but at school as well. I can tell you she is 100% devoted to ensuring even if the student doesn't have someone at home to go to that they will make up for it in caring support from every single Richland staff member. And with what I have witnessed those were not just words but delivered upon each and every day. And for the prev reviews about Chelsea, she is the front office worker, she receives countless phone calls and parent interactions all day long. She is the main point person for anyone and anything that comes in and out of the school. If her response seems "short" that is because she has a lot to coordinate and has to be available on a moments notice for an emergency/multiple worried parent phone call ect. Yes, I would love to say being the "kind face" of the school is her job but in reality I need to count on her to answer my calls, and everyone else's calls quickly and efficiently because there are several hundred other parents calling for their concerns all throughout the day. When, I am in the office for picks ups/drop offs/volunteering etc she is amazingly kind and patient and I know I can trust her to ensure my kids safety which is 100% more important than the tone in her voice. I could write much more amazing things about this school this email could go on forEVER! But Just trust me this is an incredible school and the Staff are absolutely amazing! read more

My daughter recently transferred mid year during 2nd grade, I didn't have a problem with the office staff, they were just fine to me. Her teacher was great too. I dont think I would rate the school based on my experience with office staff but rather the school as a whole, and so far so good. read more

We just started kindergarten this last fall and absolutely love it here! Our teacher is amazing and so is the staff. The crosswalk ladies are dolls and the office staff is very kind and helpful. The school is also on CLASSDojo which is awesome! We get updates, reminders and photos of our kids doing fun things! We are proud Mustangs! read more

Teachers are great, office lady is not, whom unfortunately sets the tone for the school. I had my 2 children go to this school and now my godsons. I have never had someone so curt talk to me before. I was going to walk my autistic godson to his first day of class, and she says several times that's not necessary. Finally his teacher came to greet us and very pleasantly said I was welcome to stay and observe... No problems with teachers. Once again, be careful who runs things, they are the people parents first meet. There is the nice lady too, but the mean one usually butts in. read more

I have to give this school five stars. I wish I could give them ten. This school is the greatest. The teachers are the best in the county and I have NEVER had an issue with the front office. The previous post were negative and VERY misleading. I'm sure there's a story for their nasty post, remember their is ALWAYS two sides to every story. In the past we have encountered some issues but Mrs Barbara and Mrs Martinez are kind and professional and very accommodating in the resolution of problems. Richland is a great school and their educational programs and student enrichment programs are to notch. We are VERY proud parents of a Richland student. Hello I normally take a long time to do my reviews but this one cannot wait . my sons have gone to Richland Elementary the past years. This morning 1 of my son's was not allowed to attend the first day of 4th grade. Just because someone in the office had to prove a point. Even though we've been going to that school last year. even though he has an IEP . even though they know who I am. I couldn't believe it I was so upset I just couldn't believe it. Technicalities paperwork you couldn't let him attend the first day of school and allow me to turn in the papers later which I did by the way unbelievable and ridiculous really I had to bring my son back home. more than anything mainly I'm disappointed you're supposed to feel comfortable you supposed to feel safe you're supposed to trust the school with your children . They become like family they have my son's most of the Day. I don't like this feeling I don't want my son there. I did put in a transfer application and hope it goes through. disappointed . read more

The teachers are great. Nice campus then you meet the office staff. Never met someone so constantly rude. i suggest bringing blood samples every document you have and a cash bribe. Never met people who didn't want your kids in school as much as this office lady. read more

This school has a MAJOR problem with morning and afternoon traffic before and after school. It's a dangerous situation that must be addressed before someone gets hurt. The parents do not obey the traffic laws and illegal park in the red zones and block the streets so no cars can drive the street by the school. The school principal should demand the city post law enforcement on Richland Dr. during those times to end this situation and ticket the violating parents which may end this problem . read more

Worst school ever. If I could give zero star, I would give it a zero star. The people in the office is very discriminative. The principal and vice principal is the same. I have never had a good experience with them. My kids had some good teachers but most of the teachers are not qualified to be teacher. Run away from this school if you think your kid's future. read more
