If your kid is okay in group classes, though, in general ed or special Ed, then this school is fine.

I've been really amazed by the culture of care starting with the front admin, Ms. Chelsea who makes every single visitor feel welcome and seen. Often, problem children are kept in a classroom, and teachers have to deal with them along with 30 other students. Tip - Don't procrastinate on getting your kids on a waiting list for a Charter School. You don't want to send your kids to Rincon Middle School (that's where they'll be assigned after North Broadway).

However, if you have the feeling your kid is being unfairly treated/graded, then you should probably get out as fast as you can. I've seen it with several parents including myself, who ended up taking their kids out because they dared to voice criticism. Our kid's mental health and intelligence got called into question year after year after being initially told how great our kid is doing. I guess the teachers had to be brought up to speed first. We probably got labeled difficult parents. Often when we wanted updates and voiced that the grading of work was incorrect, we found ourselves called into meetings with up to five (!) school officials. Exchanging emails with the school is like talking to lawyers. The same phrases over and over while usually not getting specific answers to specific questions. Again, I am not saying this is a bad school for the average child/parent but looking back I simply have to leave this honest review because my two kids started thriving after leaving Paloma.

They would do 1:1 sessions of a child needed extra help. They worked from their classroom and their private home. They never refused to help to the limit. Once in-person instruction began all of them have been more than willing to give kids extra help and/or meet with parents to enable the BEST instruction be delivered to ALL students at ALL times.
