The teachers are fantastic and there are plenty of staff on hand so I know that my child gets personal attention. I know that each one of the teachers loves my daughter and cares about her progress. I know that my daughter is Kindergarten ready after two years here. I love the sense of parent involvement provided with programs, special occasions, and parent accompanied field trips. Any time I've had a concern Miss Mary has been completely sympathetic and devoted to coming up with a solution. The price is very reasonable. We are paying $115 per month for three 2 1/2 hour days per week. The school follows the Weber School District calendar which is great if you have older children in school. I think If I had one complaint it would be that many parents ignore the pick up and drop off procedure. Many of them are pretty inconsiderate and will pull right in front of those who have been waiting patiently or will omit the procedure altogether and jam up the street parking all over the place to walk up and get the kids. The school does its best to make this streamlined so it is just the parents. I'm sending my second child to the preschool next year because I've had such a good experience here! I couldn't rate it highly enough. My daughter loves going to school and this school has provided a positive introduction to her education. I'm amazed at the knowledge she continually surprises me with and I credit Mary's Little Red Schoolhouse for many of the things she has learned.

I am beyond happy with the teachers and grateful for his excitement for learning. There is an upstairs classroom and a downstairs. Between the two there is a lot of variety (yet routine) offered to the kids.

My Eldest child is on the Autism Spectrum, and Miss Jolynne made it possible for me to mainstream my daughter in pre-school. Every day, I wish that Miss Jolynne were a teacher in the public school system! Of all the grade-school teachers my daughter has had, Miss Jolynne has been the one that has best cared for my special-needs child. There was a lot of genlte-encouragement, on Miss Jolynne's part. And at the end of two years, Miss Jolynne had prepared my daughter to enter Kindergarten. My middle child is finishing up her second year at Start Smart Preschool. Middle child is pretty typical, and she has done very well at Start Smart too. I feel like she's ahead of the game, thanks to the tactics Miss Jolynne emlploys. Miss Jolynne uses a lot of repetition to help the kids learn the alphabet, and the corresponding sounds that each letter makes. There are different "Units" that are focused on each month, like: number units, color units, weather units, and so on... The age-appropriate academia is perfectly balanced with Social/"Fun" time too. The kids get free-play. And Miss Jolynne plans excellent field trips. Also, the kids participate in Pre-school programs, twice a year! Another "edge" that Start Smart Preschool has over other, local, preschools is that it is 2.5 hours long; as opposed to the usual 2 hours. The 3-year-old class meets Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 12:15PM-2:45PM. And the 4 year old class meets Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays from 9AM-11:30AM. I think that having preschool consecutive days is genius! It helps the kids get used to going going to school several days in a row. I haven't found another preschool that better preps children to enter Kindergarten, than Smart Start does. Start Smart Preschool's enrollment period starts at the beginning of January, for the following academic year. And believe me, this preschool is "in demand" so, get your precious little-one signed up as soon as registration opens up.

He never cries and clings to my leg at drop off like he did in with the previous babysitter he went to. In fact, he likes it so much here that he walks me to the door every morning and literally shoves me out the door and goes in before I can tell him goodbye. The staff is friendly, and I have not seen a grumpy face yet! I always get a hello and a good morning from whomever is in the office in the morning, and my son teachers always make a point to say hello and tell my son good morning. The staff is always so amazing about informing me what goes on with my son and what he does during the days and ways he's been improving overtime. And the director, Ty is absolutely phenomenal! She goes ABOVE AND BEYOND! It's a friendly atmosphere all the way around.

Nicole and Tiffany made the transition into preschool for both of my boys so easy. They felt safe and comfortable being away from me and that peace of mind is such an important thing for all of us. My boys truly loved them both! The date-nights they offer are such an awesome bonus as well. I'm not very trusting with a random babysitter so it's so nice having a place they can go, where they are already comfortable, I know they are safe and it's honestly a great deal as well. They are amazing at making sure he gets fed on a schedule and everytime I come to pick him up he's listening to classical music or a fun kids channel. The babies will all be sitting in a circle playing with toys or looking in a mirror. He gets his own crib for naps. The class is also small which is nice. It is hard to leave your baby with somebody else, but I don't worry about him because I know he's in great care! Prices are affordable and comparable to nearby places. I pay $155 a week for full time care. They were also able to get me in without a lot of notice too!

We loooove this school for so many reasons....let me count the ways…read more 1. It's Montessori based. This teaching method has been great for our kids. I watched my child, unbeknownst to her, playing with an activity, in Montessori they call it her "work". Once she was done, she put everything away in a basket and she placed it back on the shelf. Then reached out to grab a new item to work with. It's important to note, she's 2.5! This kind of independent play and self awareness has benefited her greatly. My other daughter, who is 4, was so immersed in her craft creation today that she didn't even notice me watching her for about 10 minutes. The activities are engaging for the kids and teach a ton of self reliance. They carry this same self-reliance with them when they come home each day. 2. The teachers are incredible and very experienced. This school boasts one of the lowest teacher to student ratios in the park city area. They are incredibly attentive to my kids and our girls get a lot of one on one attention. The school has a nearby program for older kids who will often visit to work and read to small groups of the children. I found my 2 year old reading with one of the 8 year old mentors the other day. So precious! 3. They teach horseback riding! Amazing! Once a week in the off skiing season, they learn to ride a horse (western style) with a dedicated riding instructor. I'm just jealous I can't join them! 4. They teach skiing! They do a 2:1 student to teacher ratio on Fridays when the slopes are open to teach the kids. The kids get fitted for their own set of boots and skis which they are able to use all winter. 5. They message and the vibe of this school is all about connections to yourself, to others, and to nature. The leader of the school sings a song about unity in the beginning of each class. I've stayed around to watch the song a couple times and have been blown away by the attention and respect the kids give her. 6. They play...a lot and go on some great field trips. This is great! We always wanted a play based school and we found it. 7. They are learning Spanish. Language is very important to us. One of the teachers is fluent in Spanish so they teach it to the kids. 8. It's small. You get to know all the kids and teachers and everyone is very welcoming. I recommend this school to anyone who wants to belong to a wonderful little community. 10. They hike! They have a specific teacher who takes the older kids 5 and up, on extensive hikes to explore nature and be outside. Be still my nature loving heart! So that's it in a nut shell. It's a small cozy school with a ton of heart and loving teachers. Having my kids join this school was one of the highlights of moving to Park City.
