I got a Groupon and expected relaxing massage. I too am a massage therapist, and I give my clients the best care. I trusted that I would get the same care that I give to my massage clients...........I was wrong........... A heavy-set man with beard to his waist told me that he was my massage therapist. I couldn't back out of it, so I just went with it. He just worked on the back of my legs and arms with plastic ball. He asked what the pain was between 1 - 10. I screamed that it was 8 and he laughed. Then he put heating pads on my thighs and that felt good. It only lasted about 10 minutes. Then the torture was back. He put big ice packs on my thighs. I screamed and told him that I didn't like that, and he just laughed. He told me that he saw 8 clients for a massage per day. He torcher 8 people? Bad Karma. I felt sorry for him. And not enough to leave him a tip. And when I got home there was a rash under my arm. Nothing else helped except "prednizone" cream. I healed it. If I would treat my clients at the Phoenix Healing Arts massage like that, they wouldn't come back. We have to treat others with love and respect, because it creates good energy and comes back to us as a good Karma. read more

I believe in destiny. Nine years ago I went to the Puyallup fair and went past a booth featuring chiropractic. My back was killing me at the time so I stopped to see what they could do for me. They gave me a brief exam and set me up with Dr. Anderson for the next week. The best decision ever! I have been going to get adjustments at Discover Chiropractic ever since.Now though, I get wellness care,because I no longer have a back (problem)I go two times a week. I would go five times a week if I could. Dr. Anderson is top notch. He is caring and informative. The adjustments are gentle and precise. The office is family friendly with photos of his patients every where you look. There is a TV that plays children's videos .Dr.Anderson gives adjustments to kids and babies as well! Sketchy AF. Had a Groupon so went in. First of all when he was examining my neck his private area kept accidentally mashing up against my arm. Gross. Maybe it was an accident I don't know. He took xrays and we had a "consult" where he told me my "treatment plan" would cost about 9 thousand dollars and wanted me to sign up to prepay for a 2 year plan. I asked him why he thought I could afford that and he said "because you have a car and clothes on your back". When I said I couldn't afford it then he came back with a secondary treatment plan for a couple thousand less. I then just asked him how much he charges per visit and he wouldn't tell me. read more

I wanted to write this review to warn others not to waste their time here. I started talking to the office by just calling to find out if they accepted my (really good) insurance. The receptionist and dr were super pushy about getting me in the door for a consult, and were weird when I asked them about my insurance, telling me that we would go over it after the consult. I explained to them that I was a full time student at UWT, and needed to see a chiropractor that would bill my insurance, as I could not afford the care otherwise. I get through a very weird and awkward "evaluation" where the dr wouldn't answer any of my questions about treatment until I came back in another day to make a plan of action. During our talks he heard I lived with my boyfriend and got it in his head that the bf needed to be involved in my care for some reason. I politely declined, as our work schedules did not make him available for my chiro appts and I can take care of myself. Even went way over the line by implying that my bf didn't care about me if he wouldn't come in. I think he just wanted to get him in to try to sell to him too. After all this ridiculousness, when pressed really hard, they revealed to me that I would have to pay out of pocket and get my insurance to reimburse me for the charges. I couldn't believe they wasted my time like that when I explained my financial situation at the start of our communication. Why would I pay them and wait to get reimbursed when I had awesome insurance that covered some 30+ adjustments per year with no deductible or copayment, especially being a broke student. To add insult to injury, Dr Anderson tried to bill me for the consult. I called and left a message saying that if they had been up front with me to begin with I never wools have gotten X-rays or incurred charges and I never heard back. I don't appreciate the deceptiveness or the hard sell 1 bit. This all happened several years ago, but I'm really glad I found a good, trustworthy chiropractor to bill my insurance. read more

DO NOT FALL FOR HIS GROUPON. First off, He takes substandard xrays supper blurry ( Im in the medical field), He told me I had a pinched nerve although you can't see pinched nerves on Xrays. He then gives you a less than 2 min adjustment on old school hard tables. The next time you come in , even though you have 3 more adjustments, he already starts talking charges for a year of his care, too the tune of 5000 a year, prepaid of course. He even mentioned SEVERAL times about direct debit of my account...( I'm not that stupid). He wanted to lock in the financial part on the 3rd visit, but I wasnt able to. He gave me the two minute adjustment, and now it hurts so bad to walk I may have to go urgent care. I went back to him in pain and he attempted to readjust with no luck. He had the as audacity to say that this was normal. I've never had this happen nor have any of my friends...sore yes..unable to walk due to severe pain NO. Do no harm is a Drs motto, but since he's not as Dr, I guess he can and did do harm. I now have to miss work in the 4th and perhaps longer as I am a nurse. He also told me I was dying from the inside. Considering a lawsuit against him for the time I missed from work for the harm he has done to me. I am going to start off with the positive. This man is very kind and seems genuinely concerned with a person's pain and health. SI Joint was out and I literally could not stand upright Now my serious concerns. 1. High pressure sale to "buy a package" for $4,000. First of all, this is not only tacky, but when I have seen enough doctors and chiropractors and I tell this man I am 'not the average joe' having been through a major car accident, etc, he refused to listen. I find that type of behavior very offensive. No one knows my health better than me. 2. I had one of the BEST health insurance plans in the State of Washington with Chiropractic. When I gave him the card, he humored me, made a copy of the card and when I repeatedly asked about 'billing' over a two hour timeframe, he was cagey and noncommital. Then he finally says when I was getting ready to leave "you will have to submit your charges". Really? It finally took you two hours after I squeezed it out of you? 3. When I spoke with my regular physician after my second appointment with Dr. Anderson and told my doctor what was going on, he advised me to stop going. My doctor stated that people pay for insurance for a reason, not to be gouged with out of pocket expenses. 4. I ended up having to call my insurance company and submitting everything because Dr Anderson refused to submit the charges. Fortunately, they paid 60% of the full charges, but I still ended up paying for nearly $300 out of pocket. When I sent the first payment of $150, I get this 'friendly' phone call and then a handwritten note via mail stating he wanted full payment immediately. Are you kidding me? I found this so incredibly offensive, especially since I probably make more than he does in a year. *thought bubble* just maybe Dr Anderson, you should just take insurance and get payment faster and guaranteed?? 5. He is expensive. I have never paid more than $50 for any Chiropractor and for two adjustments and Xrays (those were over $200), my total bill was over $400. How is this possible that I am paying over $75 for an adjustment? 6. In all my years of using a Chiropractor, I have never felt more irritated and on the defensive than my experience with this man. While I consider him very effective, I am not buying a CAR...I am trying to get relief. Being pressured repeatedly to buy an expensive 'package' reminded me of walking onto a car lot. I found out about this place from the Spring Fair at Pyuallup. Dr. Anderson is a very nice guy who explained what I had. He created a plan for me and I feel great! I have been seeing him for a month but since the first visit I felt alive! I would recommend his services as he will take care of your needs and won't kick you out the door after a few visits. His office is very very kid friendly with Disney Pixar movies playing. It is a very nice set up and it feels great going to see him every time. Try it and see how it works for you. read more

I have excellent medical insurance that covers chiropractic and xrays with no copay but it was useless at Discover Chiropractic. Right away, Dr. Anderson charged me alot for a complete set of xrays. This was before I'd even had time to decide whether I wanted to commit to his evenings only orientation classes and months long treatment plan with three visits per week. It's hard to think quickly when you're in pain and this man overwhelms you with good cheer and verbiage till your head's spinning. Unfortunately, he's not into listening. I called and visited his office several times over a period of many months because Regence said the bill had never been submitted. Dr. Anderson told me he was behind on his paperwork but never mentioned he doesn't bill insurance. I had to read that here! After nearly a year, he sent me a check for some of the amount but never did get reimbursement from Regence so I finally just gave up. After all this effort and expense, he did one three minute adjustment and I left in as bad shape as I came in. He talks as if he's warm and caring but the only results I've experienced from having made his acquaintance are that I wasted money, time and effort for absolutely nothing but frustration and irritation.
