Our Dodge Ram 1500 truck blew a tire on I-72. AAA towed our vehicle to Discount Tire. There were many customers, but we were helped in a decent amount of time. Jacob found a reasonably priced tire for us and it was ready right before closing. As we started to get into the vehicle, Jacob and another tech ran from the store and got our attention. They had noticed that something was wrong when the tire was back on the ground. It was crooked. We received some suggestions for a repair shop as well as cold water. We made arrangements for a Lyft driver and hotel. We returned the next morning and the tow truck driver was able to coordinate with Discount Tire employees to reload our vehicle. I got here at 10:30am waited in line for 30 minutes, No Big Deal. not everyone can sit here for 6 hours all day long this is the real world we live in. Was told my two tires would be changed that I just bought from them for $250. ONLY TWO TIRES. They keep telling everyone in line 1:00-1:30pm it'll be done. They also told me the same thing. So I leave I come back at 1:40 expecting a car with two new tires but what I got was my car sitting in the same spot. and them telling me it may not get done until 3-4pm. We have jobs and bills to pay we don't have time for these young people who have no idea what they are doing taking 3 hours to change 2 tires is ridiculous and probably the worst experience I've ever had at any tire shop in my 38 years of experience. read more

I had an appointment for 1:00 to have the tires rotated on my truck. I got there early and had to wait in line for approximately 10 minutes. When it was my turn, I was told that my truck would be ready by 2:00. A friend and I went to lunch and came back and my truck was still sitting where I had parked it. I went inside and asked what the problem was because I had been told that my truck would be done by 2:00. Someone that worked there said that he would check and see what the issue was. I was told that my truck would be ready in approximately 10 to 15 minutes. I walked around the property and visited several stores. I got a call asking me since I had been waiting for so long if they threw in a free pair of wiper blades if that would help? Big deal, a pair of wiper blades cost $12.99 at Walmart. I ended up walking around the property for about 2 hours before I finally got a text message saying that my truck was ready. read more

Staff have always been friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and professional. On the occasion they can't accommodate one way, generally good about offering an agreeable alternative. Sufficient selection of good tires. But also, may need better management, workflow training, or maybe just double the staff and facilities. Hard to remember a time I haven't walked in to ten or twenty orders in front of me and a turnaround time measured in hours. CODY, one of the managers at the Springfield, Illinois on Veterans Parkway location, went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help us! He is a truly outstanding person who provides exceptional service. We had just driven into town, and had a low pressure warning on our rental car that we had driven up from near the St. Louis airport. After spending over an hour on the phone with the rental car company, we found ourselves in a dilemma because the rental car company did not have a replacement car for us in the Springfield area. We researched our nearby options, and went to Discount Tire in hopes of having the tire repaired. You know when you have gone to the right place when it is well staffed and very busy. Their service bay was full and the workers were hustling. We spoke with the Cody, who was working at the counter, and he let us know that his crew was booked out for several hours. Once we explained that we were in from out of state to attend a family gathering, Cody offered to check out our tire himself. He stepped away from their busy counter, took our car around to the shop and quickly found that the tire had previously been patched and was beyond repair. Cody replaced the faulty tire for us right away, doing the work himself, which allowed us to get to our gathering on time. We are so grateful for Cody and his kindness. My low tire pressure light had lit up on my dashboard so I took it to Walmart Auto & the guy informed me there was a nail in the section of the tire which *could not be repaired* so I needed to buy a new tire, which they didn't have in stock. He recommended I go to Discount Tire. The person that serviced me at Discount Tire's front desk asked to go outside with me and check my tire out. He was so thorough, explaining different things about my tire and other parts of my car and making recommendations. It was the most non-salesman, non-intimidating exchange. I felt like he was educating me, just for my benefit. In the end, they REPAIRED my tire... FOR FREE. And rotated and balanced them all FOR FREE. Bought some camper tires from them today. It took almost 3 weeks to get in. I had to call several times over the 3 weeks to get status. I called again yesterday and was told tires just arrived that morning. Not very happy with the long wait. Made appointment for next day to have installed. One of the guys knew exactly what he was doing. The other guy not so much. He couldnt even get the tire to fit on wheel. He just walked away and left for the guy that knew what he was doing. All done and finished in a short time. Not happy with the the overall service I received for the price I paid for tires. In short Discount Tire is not what it used to be; wait times and check ins are a mess and information is not consistent nor relayed correctly across team members. Staff and leadership need to be trained better and management should be readily available for anyone that needs to talk with them. I went to this location over the weekend and the wait was about 5-10 minutes to speak to someone to buy 4 new tires for the low cost of 1200$. I ask about setting up an appointment to save time on install when they come in, the tech told me that's not needed as they have less appointments open now as Discount Tire keeps changing how they do check ins (his words). He said coming in at anytime is just as fast as someone who makes an appointment. I get a call 2 days later telling me my tires are in and that when I'm ready for install just give them a call to check in ( expedites the process). I call today to check in around 11:30AM, get there at 11:50 and wait in line for about 10 minutes as they only have 2 people running the counters. I get in, check in and he takes information again, checks tires ( not sure why since they are being replaced and I showed up on Saturday to take care of all this). He quotes me an hour and since I did advance check in there were only 5 cars in front of me. I came back at 1:15-20PM and waited in line for another 10 minutes ( only 2 people working again) and he tells me there are still 3 cars in front of me and its probably going to be another hour, might be done by 2:30PM. He did apologize for me being quoted the wrong times and the delays. During this time the line had grown to probably 8 more people or more behind me and the phones continued to ring for over 3 minutes striaght ( no one was available to answer) Had I known this was going to be a 3 hour tire change I would not have come in today. I asked for the refund of my tires as I no longer wanted them along with the mangers card. The employee was unable to locate the managers card but gave me a card with a name and the stores number.. I called and it just rang and rang. The employee gets an A+ for handing the situation well but Discount tire Gets a D+ for their training, wait times, check in process. I find it disheartening that they didn't even care to make it right or get a manager/supervisor for me to talk to. I have tried contacting them about the issue multiple times through different venues and they still have not contacted me which speaks volumes about the business and addressing issues. Also found the exact tires at Sam's club with install and same benefits for 200$ less. Highly recommend paying 40$ for a Sam's club membership and buying tires from there. read more

I have been a customer of discount tire over the years and this location is the best one by far. Their Customer service is always top notch. Today I had a low tire that needed air. Marlon helped fill my tire up and he listened to my story about my tire having a leak. I had to leave to take my husband to work but he told me next time I can to come in and see him and we would figure out what to do with my tires. I came back later today and he was AMAZING!! My 2024 Corvette with 900 miles took on a screw and it was close enough to the sidewall that it was not repairable. They did not have one in stock so Josh ordered one from Michelin in Chicago. It was supposed to be in two days later. It didn't come due to an issue with Michelin and their shipping department. I wasn't happy with Michelin because it delayed our trip two days with no tire. I ended up having to rent a vehicle and drive 3 hours to another Discount Tire store to get the in stock tire. Josh said if we made it back before they closed at 6 that they would get it on that day. There were 11 people ahead of us when we got back at 5:45. They got it in about an hour later. Josh used the care that he would on his own vehicle and despite my biggest fear of damaging the car or rim, it came out perfectly with no scratches. First time I had ever used this location. Got tires put on in September. Started to notice not even a month later, that the passenger side tires were both losing air faster than the driver's side. This was exacerbated in the Winter cold. I called to see if they could check the tires for any maintenance problems and was immediately told that I had opted out of their "Hassle Free Warranty" but they were willing to try to sell me a pro-rated one. Took it to another location in town, and they told me that the tires had not been sealed properly when installed. Discount was not willing to look at what THEY had installed improperly without trying to sell me a warranty. Will NEVER go back. read more

Installers broke the tabs on one of my wheel covers. I didn't find out until I was driving down the highway and it flew off. I was able to find it, then I returned to the store. They said they would replace it but it would take a week to ten days. I've moving in three days. They said to get after-market covers and they would reimburse me. So I have to go out of my way to purchase my own covers. I'm not a happy camper. read more

Bait and switch. That's the scam they will run if you are in an emergency situation. Driving on a donut spare I called to see if they had the right size tire to fit my Acura in stock and the brand I wanted, and they said they most certainly had 4 in stock (bait). I drove 28 miles to get there and made it in 30 min. After assessing my tires and trying to sell me on all the reasons I needed to buy 4 new tires instead of 2, he looks at the computer screen and says, "you're never going to believe this........someone just bought the last 4 of those tires. But we have a different brand of tires (Falcon) on sale that would cost you about the same to replace all 4 with these (switch). I guarantee no one else in the area has the size you need." A fast and friendly tire shop. I got my tires rotated here for free on my lunch break and the guys noticed a screw protruding from one of my tires. They brought the tire into the front of the store to show me, which is much better than "just trust us." They checked the pressure and wear on all the tires and quoted me a price on a replaced for the tire that's screwed up. All that for free, and in less than an hour. Bought 4 new tires for a Ram 1500. Noticed on the way home that a tire sensor wasn't working. Called back and was told I could stop in anytime and they would reset it. Came the next Monday and reset procedure didn't work, and That I may need a new sensor. Funny, the sensor was working fine before they put the tires on. Now my quick trip to reset the sensor is turning into an hour + investigation that may cost me $45 for a new sensor in addition to the $1000 I just spent on tires. read more
