I decided to try Car-X because of all the great Yelp reviews for this business…read more First appointment was for an oil change that turned into a tire purchase. I'm always hesitant to trust auto mechanics and those that service cars due to how many times in the past that I've been BS'd about needed repairs. Not so at this Car-X! Manager Bob talked to me about my bad tire and took me out to the bays to show me the tear in my tire. These tires had 60,000+ miles on them and I knew it was time. Bob talked me through the tire styles that would fit my Sonata and I decided to stay with the Hankook tire that came with the car when purchased. The price for everything was around $800. -- surprise! -- but Bob quickly calmed me down by suggesting I apply for a Car-X credit card to help spread out the payment. I was approved in minutes and soon drove off with my new tires and oil change. Bob has since been promoted and is no longer in this store but his replacement, whose name escapes me right now, is just as helpful and professional when I schedule my appointments and arrive for same. My car is serviced by the time promised. The waiting area is small but clean and offers free WiFi, television and snacks for purchase. The mechanics are helpful and respectful and provide good customer service. Sam is especially nice and helpful. I wish I knew the other guys' names but they too are helpful and thorough. I drive by this place every morning and never would have thought to go there if it wasn't for you Yelpers. My husband always goes to Sam's Club for our tires but I'm happy to support this business and not have to go across town to give my hard earned money to the Walton family. Lastly, when I purchased my tires from CarX I had already been to Sams and got a quote and appointment for new tires. Car-x matched the price and delivered a find product on the same day as service. Thank you Bob and the Car-X crew that works at this location!!

I knew it was alternator because had my battery checked and it was good and battery light coming on and if you look it up to see why battery light coming on its the alternator. Well car x wanna tell me it's my battery cause they too lazy to fix the alternator. I went to junk yard got an alternator for 100 bucks and my boyfriend put it in and car is now back up and running. Car x is a waste of peoples time. They only wanna fix simple stuff or help people they know. DONT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE. THEY JUST NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN!!

I had them do an oil change on my 1973 Mercury Cougar and was told I needed an oil pan because the…read moreexisting pan was rusty and leaking, they found one online for over $600.00 so I found my own from West Coast Classic Cougar for $ 85.00. was charged $884.83 to replace a part that had at most 10 bolts to swap out. It was a simple swap nothing from the suspension needed to be removed, so I am perplexed about the inflated labor cost. I would strongly advise anyone with a classic vehicle to avoid this shop at all "cost" I received a call from Steve explaing the high labor cost to do the oil-pan swap and in the beginning he did inform me that his labor cost books did not go back that far for a 53 year old vehicle so in all fairness I googled the process of replacing said oil-pan and found out that the motor did need to be raised to allow room to make the swap. Steve did explain this to me but when I said that was his opinion boy did his demeanor change and as others have commented he did get rude. so I am amending my review to be fair to the shop; but I still would not recomend this shop for classic car repair. It is sad that it is very difficult to find a reputable repair shop in Springfield for classic cars.
