I have been going to this store for almost 10 years now and it has previously been a good store. My most recent experiences have been much different than in years past and I can not recommend this store any longer. When I took my truck in for a tire rotation I asked if they would also check to see why my tire pressure indicator was staying on. About an hour into the tire rotation I was told that two of my tire pressure sensors were bad. I asked how much it would cost to replace all four and was given a price to which I agreed. When I left the store tire pressure was not showing on my gauge cluster however I was told that it was normal and I would have to drive 20-30 miles for the new sensors to start registering. I also noticed in this time a vibration from the tires which I believed to be the tires not being properly balanced. The next day when they started working my tire pressure was still showing low on both of the passenger side tires. I had my son bring the truck back in to see about getting tire pressure fixed and making sure that the tires were balanced properly. When my son brought the truck to them they told him that one of the tires had low tread and that all four tires would need to be replaced. (These tires had 30k miles on them with a 60k mile warranty from the manufacturer) my son is young but thankfully not stupid and told them to fix the air pressure and balance the tires. When I got my truck back I was surprised to see that my air pressure light was still on and also I noticed that I still had vibration when driving at speeds over 30 mph. I saw that they had given my son a receipt and I read on it that he had requested for them to fix the tire pressure issue and check to see about the vibration. I decided to call the store and let them know that I was not happy to see that nothing had been done when the truck was brought in. I was assured that I could bring the truck in anytime and they would make my truck a priority and fix these two very simple issues. I decided not to waste any time and drove straight to the store handing my keys to the person that I had talked to on the phone. Two hours later a young man brought me my keys seeming very unsure about what had been done to my truck. At this point I was ready to leave as I had other things to do and had not anticipated spending two hours to have this done. When I got down the road a few miles I noticed that the air pressure light was still on and uncaring that my passenger side tires were 5lbs lower in tire pressure than my drivers side. Now the vibration seemed to have been taken care of. To sum it up I called again and asked to speak to the manager who was named James. James told me that all Toyotas have vibration and that my wheel spacers had been to blame for the vibration. He went on to say that all I had to do was pull up to the store for them to fix my tire pressure and I wouldn't even have to get out of the truck. Why couldn't they have done this any of the three times that I brought it in for this issue then? I ended up putting air into the tires myself and moving on with my life. A life that does not include ever going back to this store. I tried to give them the opportunity to make it right however they wanted to blame the truck. If you have a Toyota or wheel spacers please don't take your vehicle to this store because they think that your wheels can not be balanced. I had tires ordered in from tire rack, and called and heard someone confirm over the telephone that the tires had arrived. I ordered four new tire pressure sensors for good measure, and made an appointment to come in and get all 8 items installed. Upon arrival, a young woman checked me in, immediately asserting with a great amount of aplomb that my tires had not arrived. When I gently tried to suggest that someone on the phone had told me that the tires had arrived, she became outright argumentative for no reason whatsoever. I gently backed out of my encounter with her, and talked to an even younger man who was kind enough to actually physically check to see if the tires had arrived, and confirmed that indeed they had. The young man requested, however, that I return to have all of these things installed, as the shop was closing before the installation could happen. Return I did, and had the tires and tire sensors installed. I was about to pull out when I noticed that my tire pressure sensor warning lights were active on my dashboard, and returned to ask the first worker I saw (again, a young man) if perhaps my tire pressure is needed to be programmed or otherwise installed so that they would work correctly and the warning light on my dash would extinguish. The young man told me, with the same amount of aggressive overconfidence that the young lady displayed as she swore that four tires which were about 50 ft from her were not there (without looking or understanding how to detect their presence of course) that it was normal for tire pressure sensors to take several weeks to begin to function correctly, and that the tire pressure sensors were just fine and the light would go off within a few days, since the sensors were functioning correctly. Mind you, he did not examine the sensors in any way before telling me this. A month later, I inspected the sensors myself, of course, and saw that they had not been programmed at all, and that overconfident filth was spat at me from another young person working in this business. If someone doesn't know the answer to a question it's totally okay for them to simply say that they don't know the answer to a question asked. No matter how insecure they are, it's not okay for them to get aggressive and argumentative and lie to people and waste their time and waste their money. I know it's difficult to hire people these days, and I feel for businesses that have to choose between hiring dishonest self-important entitled and unpleasant young people like this, and having to search even further for real help. I would suggest, however, that this business takes such reviews of the behavior of their young staff very seriously, and do what they need to do to rectify the behavior. I do get the sense that senior staff, at least the people that I spoke to on the phone, understand how their inventory system works at least, and will give them the benefit of the doubt so far concerning how to install and program a tire pressure sensor... Still, if you run a tire shop, these are certainly bread and butter activities that, along with your inventory system, should not produce mistakes that people aggressively and inappropriately defend, wasting the time and money and trust of your customers. read more

He said I needed 3 tires. I told him I could only do 1 today. Concerned about the safety of my tires, he went and scoured the used tires back for a set I could afford! He really went the extra mile. The good: They price matched tires from Tire Rack. The tires weren't in stock but they came in 2 days. There was the typical sales vibe to the whole thing which I HATE but it wasn't the worst I have endured. I paid the deposit & made an appt for about an hour after the tired were to arrive. I wanted to pay the fill balance but you can't pay more than the $25 deposit over the phone, which I thought was weird. They said they would call when the tires were delivered. I didn't get a call & decided to just go wait for my tires to arrive. I arrived around 1:45. The tires had been there since 9am. My 1p appt didn't show up on their system but they did bump me up in the line. When I got the final charge it was just a total. I asked to see the breakdown & once you are on the pay screen apparently you can't go back to see what you are being charger for. I just waited for him to figure out how to pull up my charges. We went to another kiosk & he pulled them up & there were charged on there I did not agree to. This is SO shady & annoying. It was the "certificates" which are some kind of insurance on the tires. I may have gotten it had I been asked. I HATE sneaky sales tactics & pressure sales. I have never gotten this at Costco. It's much better here at Discount Tire, but this transaction had more of it than the last set I bought from them. DO NOT ADD CHARGES WITHOUT ASKING PEOPLE! It's unethical & I think you lose more customers than you think. This DT is really convenient to my place but I may end up going back to Costco. read more

We ended up getting a tow by another company to here after coming back to our car after a brief lunch and finding our tire as flat as a pancake -- I was flabbergasted. Anyhow, we arrived and they quickly took our info and asked to have a seat since they were so busy. They said it could be up to 90 minutes. Best tire purchase experience ever. Totally recommend this DT outlet and its staff. I was one of the thousands trying to get winter tires in advance of the holidays and the area's anticipated snow/ice. I shopped online at most of the area's tire stores and ended up ordering a set from this DT location. Initially, they indicated the tires would arrive by Monday, 12/27. I got a call later that evening indicating the tires were ordered but wouldn't arrive for probably 7-10 days, probably after New Years. I found some other tires in stock at the Tigard location, went there waited in line and was told if I came in by 8am the next morning and left the vehicle, they'd definitely be able to mount them. I went, was there at 8:02, waited in line and was told there was no way they'd be able to mount them before 12/29. Total waste of my time. Why I was told they'd be able to do the job the afternoon before is still a mystery & a colossal customer service failure. I don't think I'll be going back to the Tigard location, even though it's closer to where I live. I called and went to the OC location to check on the initial order and was told they'd probably be in by Monday after all and to keep my appointment. I went in Monday, 12/27, no tires... However the staff there were fantastic and knew I had called and stopped by before to check on the order, etc. They offered me tires that were in stock and gave them to me at the same price I had paid (they were more expensive). You can't ask for better customer service - especially when they were totally slammed with customers, phone calls, etc. You won't find a better crew anywhere than the guys at the Oregon City Discount Tire outlet. Needed help with a leaking tire on a road-trip and stopped at the Salem location of Discount Tire. They helpfully diagnosed the problem as a tire that was dangerously falling apart. They didn't have a replacement at that location, so they called around and found it at their Oregon City location. They then put on our spare tire and got us safely on the way to Oregon City. This particular discount tires is "fabulous! "We ordered and bought four specialty wheels from them and when they came we were dubious of them but went ahead and had them mount them on our truck. Wasn't in love with them but thought they would grow on us, big mistake all the way around, and was told from another discount tires we could not return them. The new Oregon City store is the one we purchased them from so I decided to call them and talk to the manager anyway. They were so nice and accommodating and felt bad that we were not 100% happy, so they took them back and helped us choose the right color and wheel for our truck and ordered them for us and they were fast in getting them here as well as installing and we couldn't be happier! Came to your shop a couple weeks ago on a Saturday, just as the store was closing. One of our tires had blew out and we had to have the car for work on Monday. First off their guaranteeis worthless unless you pay an additional fee for each tire you purchase. I paid $52 extra and I go in to have the tires rotated, a leak fixed and .balanced They refused to do because my tires were starting to show a little wear. Never, ever would I go back to DC, nor would I recommend them to a friend I wanted to keep.
