went to take both my car and my dads to get an alignment. the tech never told me that my ball joints were basically toast so it was a very sketchy drive home. ended up calling and they said they'd tighten the bolts again. i got a full refund for one car and was able to get it fixed somewhere else but the fact that i was never told that my ball joints were that bad is why i will never go there again the other alignment they did on my dads car wasn't even that good. took both cars to my usual mechanic and he said they did a terrible job on both. was told as DT that because of the rust he couldn't do much. lies! my mechanic did it for me. the only good thing about DT is their tire warranty and free air checks. that's about all i'll go there for now read more

Incompetent idiots. These people are hassoles. The online appointment schedule shows no, zero, nadda appointments scheduled... you can pick any time and get in. Ok. So I call to be sure and the guy says sure come in today, we'll get you right in, rotate and balance your tires, and it will be less than an hour. So I go in. Hour and twenty minutes later still sitting there and vehicle is not even in the building. So I ask some guy whats up and am told it'll be another hour and a half or longer... tell him the guy on the phone said less than an hour... he says nobody would say that because we have had over a two or three hour wait all morning. Well, someone(s) in this place is full of crap. So I say hey I'm not making this up that's what the guy said... well this guy he still wants to argue about it some more... so I left. Called another discount tire and they were upset about what happened and told me to come over and they would get me right in, which they did. They finished in twenty minutes. read more

Won't go anywhere else. Great service. Great advisors. Third set of tires through this location. They play it straight- no games. Michigan potholes have taken me out twice. Both times they got me back up and running very quickly. Today- after the most recent blow out- bought 4 new wheels and tires (no pressure, just made sense to switch from low profile). I hit a pothole and cracked a rim on my car. When I got to discount tire the man at the front desk was not helpful. Every question I asked him, he was unable to answer. I asked about the cost a few times and instead of looking it up he just kept saying "I don't know" and saying random numbers between $100-$300. I finally decided to go elsewhere and asked them to put the spare tire on my car so I could drive safely. He told me that I did not have a spare tire. He told me I did not have one. I had to tell him several times that I did while he argued that I didn't. I finally had to walk him out to my vehicle, open the trunk, and show him the spare before he finally believed me. Very unhelpful. Rated 2 stars because the woman who worked in the back who put on the spare tire, did so very quickly and also made me aware of a nail in a different tire. First off, I have worked for discount tire years ago. I come here because I know the service and they do a good job but today was quite a disappointment. I had a tech call me and tell me that the bead is leaking and it would cost me $19 per rim to clean. Which this process requires a rim clean from a wire brush. This process takes less than 5 minutes per rim. Now I asked the tech why this would cost $19 per rim because when I worked there, this was part of a repair process when fixing a nail in the tire. Which I was informed this process takes 30 minutes to complete. Which I know for a fact it doesn't. Note: I did inspect the rims and yes it wasn't as bad as it was described to me and I am aware these rims do have leak issues. My point is, a wheel clean wouldn't of made a difference and was looking to get $19 per rim that wouldn't of made a difference in the leak performance. It would leak the same amount of air with or without a wheel clean I do not appreciate being lied too or mis-informed. This is why I give this place a 1 star review, please be honest to the customer. This is unfortunately not an honest store. Update: I did email discount tire but never got a phone call or email from your store. Frankly not sure what will happen other than an apology. What should happen is to train your staff what discount tire represents. If this is what your store represents which is say what corporate wants you to say then do the opposite. I rarely take time to write business reviews, but I was SO moved by my experience at the New Hudson Discount Tire location that I had to share! I unexpectedly ran over a nail on the road last week with my three babies in the car. By the time I got the car to the tire shop and we discussed the replacements required, it was chaos. My infant was hungry & screaming, my toddlers were becoming impatient, and on top of that, my debit card was malfunctioning. The service representative and technicians alike could see how overwhelmed I was while trying to sort everything out and agreed to get my car in immediately and worry about payment at the end. Several of them came over to entertain and calm my kids to help while I was on the phone with PNC. When I finally got my debit card issue resolved, I went to the desk only to be told that a VERY generous and anonymous customer (who was already gone) had paid $600 for me to replace my front two tires. I will never know his name but I will always remember our brief exchange before he left. The manager (Charles) then informed me that he would be covering the other two tires, so I could get all 4 new tires for free ($1,200 value). I will not forget the kind look in his eyes when we had this conversation, and the act brought me to tears. It was obvious how happy the team was to work together in order to do this for my family and I, and by the time we left, almost all of the team members had stopped by our seat in the waiting room to greet my kids and I and tell us how glad they were to be a part of paying it forward. I happened upon this place just because I was out of my area and in need of a tire rotation. What makes me angry about any place is that they tend to put the people on the phone ahead of the people right in front of them. I waited what seemed like forever for the guy to get off the phone and eventually decided to leave. Someone did come out after me and asked if they could help me and it all worked out. But, it is besides the fact that they service people on the phone more promptly than people in front of them...just doesn't seem right. read more

Dropped truck around noon with an appointment, promised to finish within couple of hours. Discount Tire did not send a notification message for picking up. I called at 5:00pm and I was told on the phone that the tire replacement was done. I needed my truck on this day I have and wasted three hours waiting for the message from Discount Tire. (I specifically asked and they told me that they will notify as soon as it is finished) We know this store is not managed professionally, but his is not the reason for one star, the reason for my rating is the unfriendliness and the rudeness of the store manager. I did not complain and just asked why nobody called. The manager told me in an unfriendly tone we don't call the customer for notification. I had to asked again how the customer is notified, the guys told me that we are sending a message. Then I had to ask again why I have not received the message? Long time discount tire customer. Well over 10 years. Bought 2 new all season tires for my work van. When I brought the vehicle in for my scheduled appointment I requested the 2 rear "old" snow tires be placed on front and the 2 new tires placed on the rear. The employee told me that was fine and it would be done as requested. After the 2 new tires were mounted they informed me that they would not be putting the new tires on the rear. I can't tell you how many times this place has hooked me up. They fix your tire for free if it springs a leak! I have also purchased a full set of tires for my husbands car and it wasn't as financially painful as I had anticipated. They are always friendly and professional. They even have a place outside the bays where you can pull up any time (you don't have to call or even go inside) and they will check your tires and fill them within 3 minutes, no charge. The reason I feel it so necessary to write this glowing review, which I assure you is genuine, is that I was horrified to see a Belle Tire is being built across the street. It kills me to think that they might try to drive Discount out of business. I know I will not be patronizing them, I have never cared for Belle Tire. I used to think this was a good location however on a truck my son drives we took it up to get the tires balanced and rotated (we purchased the tires from here so it's a free/lifetime service). The first attempt they told him it didn't need to be done and they turned him away. Recently I drive the truck and I noticed it pulling it pulling. I took it to my mechanic and asked they they do an alignment. I was told we didn't need one but rather we needed to rotate our tires. I told my so to go back to Discount Tire and tell them to rotate them.......again they said no and the the one tire should be replaced. Finally I called them and I'm now sitting at this place for a third time. Finally they're rotating my tires. So the question is why do I need to demand they do what I want? You say a few choice words to yourself and begrudgingly drag your car into discount tire. The staff here make this experience as enjoyable as possible. Ive never really had to wait very long for the initial check of the car. Ive seen some pretty miserable faces in the waiting room, luckily theres so much seating you can put space between yourself and them. Between mine and my wife's car and of course Michigans wonderful roads, Ive become a bit of a regular here. A nail, a tire light from a bummed sensor, and then another companys botched patch led me to a couple trips then a replacement. Their prices are right where they should be. Ive never been upsold or anything like that. Their tire warranty is one of the only warranties I buy. It is totally worth it and we have utilized it on more than one occasion. They remove nails for free. Its a great service because it gets you in the door in case its more than a nail too. read more

They refused to patch my tire. They told us it would only be an hour wait, we ended up staying for three hours. Instead of helping us patch my tire they wanted me to buy a brand new tire. They didn't check my tire towards the end of the three hours and had us waiting when they could of easily checked the tire from the start and saved us from wasting time. I will never do business with discount tire ever again if I can help it. The broke a wheel studs and they don't fix them. What?!?! Refer you somewhere else and they will reimburse you. So I have to go and find someone to replace it and then go back to get reimbursed. They are the only ones that have touched my wheels. They were so nonchalant about it. I went to Belle Tire across the street and they wanted me to leave it overnight. I explained that that was not possible and they offered no help. The counter person complained about how long they stayed the night before. I limped to Discount Tire where they took care of me and got me on the road. They were slammed and were open way past their scheduled hours to make sure customers were handled. Starting at 10:00 AM this morning I spent over two hour trying to find any auto/tire center that would balance my tires. I was amazed at how many places told me that I would have to wait until next Wednesday at the earliest or the place never answered the phone. I finally called the New Hudson, MI location, and they told me that they would gladly service my car if I could drop it off. They warned me that it might take past the time they close to get it done, but they would stay until it was finished. I dropped my car off at 1:00 PM, and came back at 6:00 PM (closing time). It was all hands on deck. Every one of the service people (had to be 8-10) were working on cars, including mine. The teamwork was amazing. There was laughter, good job being shouted, "come on six more to go" was yelled out. I loved the environment. It's hard to describe how my day ended compared to how it started. What I can tell you is that my car rides great now and the Discount Tire in New Hudson will have my business moving forward. read more

I'm the sort of person who will drive a new car for a couple of weeks and say "These tires suck. I'm going to get them replaced." and who will replace older tires when they lose their grip, instead of when wear bars show up. Even so, I can't believe how many tires I've bought from Discount Tire. Every time, in every location, the staff has been totally friendly and accommodating. New Hudson seems to have employees who want to go the extra mile, though. Even when they're totally slammed with customers, I've been able to get tires in a reasonable amount of time. Pricing is always good, but like everywhere outside of warehouse clubs, there's usually some negotiation involved to get the best deal. Though, the last time I was there, they had a Black Friday $50 off coupon, which actually made the set of tires I was buying cheaper than getting them from TireRack.
