My experience at this Discount Tire location was really great! Needed new tires so I purchased them online (they had the best pricing) and made the appointment, same day. I called and was told to come in and there was no wait. I might have been on two wheels to get there! LOL! But upon arrival, I was informed that two of the tires were not available (system issue). BUT, they made it right! They ordered newer tires a step above the ones I purchased and got them there same day. Called me a couple hours later with news they were in and to come back. Got there and I was in and out in about 30 minutes. Best service I've ever had! They even come out to your car to check in, before you can even get out the car! Curbside service baby!! The staff is great! Shoutout to Gian, Ray and the crew! This store is located on Independence/74 in Matthews (Windsor Square). Plenty of parking, free air and amazing service! Really disappointed with how my wife was treated here. She went in for a simple tire issue and ended up being pressured at every turn. They charged her with a warranty she had already declined, after already trying to upsell her on warranties for all 4 tires and tried to sell her new wipers. All of which was on a nine‑month‑old car with 10k miles. They even rolled a tire with a small screw in it across the shop floor like it was some dramatic reveal--something they didn't do for anyone else. Meanwhile when a gentlemen sitting next to her had to have a tire plugged due to a similar issue and they didn't roll his tire in to show him. After reading other reviews, this seems to be a pattern, especially toward women. People report being told their car couldn't even be serviced unless they bought new tires, only to find out later it was just a nail that could be plugged for under $30. Some were even offered free tires afterward if they'd change their review. This isn't an honest mistake. It's a consistent upsell routine, and it's not a good look for a company this size. read more

I was in here two days ago and I have to say, I was not thrilled with my experience. I came in because my front right tire has had a small leak for a few months (dropping from full to tpms triggering low in around 2-3 weeks). I knew the tire was low and was fully anticipating potentially finding out i needed new front tires. I pulled up, had them look at it and obviously they wanted to check my front right tire. Thats all good, and im grateful there is a place where that can be checked for free. They told me it would take at most 40 minutes when i pulled in at 9:30~. I walk in and they start telling me my tread is low and needs replacement. For reference, my vehicle was purchased certified pre owned from Honda with new tires, it has less than 30k miles on it. My tread was fine. They tell me to take a seat and that theyll look the tire over. 30 minutes later they roll it out, tell me they cant find any leaks and that the tire is fine, great! They then start telling me that my "secondary rubber" is showing and that I need to replace them because they can "blow at any time". I told them I'm not interested, my tires were new and that if anything had been wrong I would have replaced them but given that they werent i would rather not. I agreed to have an alignment done because i was due for one. After agreeing to that they are hounding me about changing these tires, again, tires that had no damage they could find or leak, and off a car I've put maybe 5,000 miles on. At this point I've been here for like an hour and some change, I have to get back to work, so I agree to have the front two tires changed out just so I can get out the door. Another 10-20 minutes go by and Im having another tire rolled out to me "this one has secondary rubber showing as well" youll need to change these or they could blowout. I looked at the tech and told him "they are new tires, i dont want new ones, and i cant afford that right now" seemingly ignoring the first half of what i said he replies "well we can put you on a payment plan!" I dont want a payment plan i just wanted my tire inspected? At this point I've been here for almost an hour and a half, they are still hounding me over these tires and my car is literally on their rack while they seemingly wont take no for an answer so I did the wrong thing and caved on getting a full set of their tires. I came in looking to get my tire looked at, found out it was fine, and still got cornered into an $850 bill for tires I didn't need nor want. Improperly Lifted Trailer and Did Not Balance Tires - June 2025 Technicians lifted my camping trailer by the axle instead of the frame to replace tires. All major trailer axle manufacturers (Dexter, Lippert, Duratek, Carry-On) clearly state in their online manuals that jack points must be under the trailer frame, not the axle, to prevent axle damage. This is widely available information. Technicians and Store Manager, Caleb Dye, report that they always lift trailers by the axle instead of the frame. The team performing this tire change apparently had not received proper training from Discount Tire on proper lift techniques for trailers or disregarded that training in effort to perform the task faster. As I was leaving, I asked the Store Manager, Caleb Dye, if the tires had been balanced as no weights were visible on the outside of the wheels and he assured me they were. He stated since they are aluminum wheels, the weights were placed on the interior of the wheel. At home, I discovered that none of the wheels had been balanced (no weights). I had to return to the store to have the tires balanced. Mr. Dye was not working at the time so I was unable to discuss why the tires were not balanced at initial visit. The store did not have appropriate equipment to lift the trailer by the frame to balance the tires and I had to use my leveling blocks to elevate one tire at a time. read more

So normally I would be raving about Discount Tire but this time they have lost a customer who has been loyal to them for well over 25 years now. I just had my wife go up and get new tires at the very same store literally just hours before, which reminded me, I need to take my truck and get my tires rotated. I took my truck told him what I wanted and he said once he realized I had purchased my tires there, because I had my receipt in hand and they went out to check the tires and then he told me I didn't have enough tread to rotate the tires. On the front they were wearing on the outside and my tires on the back just had normal wear and they were getting low but I probably have another 10,000 miles on them . They are 70,000 mile tires that only had a little over 51,000 miles on them. I said OK, so if I purchase new tires will I get credit for the 20,000 miles that is under the claim 70,000 miles this tire will make. He said no because you haven't rotated your tires. I almost had to laugh at this point and say OK so you won't rotate my tires and he won't give me the credit for the amount of miles this set of tires did not make it because the tires have not been rotated correct? He said yes. Unfortunately, my hands are tied. I didn't want to get into anything emotional and tell them that they had just lost pretty much a lifelong customer and then I regretted my wife going there that morning and getting her tires. No, I just got back in my truck and left but they have lost a couple of very good loyal customers. read more

Even the old tires credit was offered only if i bought more expensive tires or only if i kept the warranty " forcing me to buy the warranty certificates " this is not acceptable for me. LOSING MY OEM LUG NUTS AND THEN COLLECTING SOME FROM THE GARBAGE NEXT DAY FOR ME TO PICK THEM UP AFTER DRIVING AN HOUR ONE WAY this is not accepted for me especially i asked to keep all my original stuff. Ordered 4 tires, and selected an install date 3 days past the earliest available time. Received 1 phone call 5 days prior to appt letting me know tires were coming from Pittsburgh and I would receive updates. Since then, text updates to confirm appt every day including a reminder the morning of the appt. I arrive and there's no tires. Jackson then says I've tried calling 3 times. I tell him he's lying and show my phone that has the 1 call 5 days ago. He then attempts to double down and I offer to play his voice-mail so it's his words against his words. Didn't have to do that. Next we can get tires here in a few hours, so now instead of an hour it's half a day. Surprisingly they are more expensive but "we'll split the difference" on cost, which if you fail why am I paying more? After back and forth allegedly better tires are going on at their expense. Things happen, I understand that. But fabricating stories is hugely distasteful. It's like would you like to be known as incompetent or liar and he picked both. For future customers according to the people here the order and appt confirmations are worthless so Do NOT depend on those. The Discount Tire support service is useless according to the Discount Tire staff. Worse, you cannot trust what they say in person as they create mythical actions that do not happen. Our notes say we called, but the incoming call log from Verizon shows we didn't. ​ The remedy is acceptable, but was completely avoidable. As was the aggravation. Breaching customers trust is something you would think companies would not embrace. I'd have much rather said everything went great, come here if you need something. Instead its customers beware, no value on your time and we don't do what we say, we'll even deny facts. read more

Went last week for a rotation and was told I needed new tires due to the depths of three tires being a 3 and two 4's. I said that they were just bought there in the last couple of years. I was willing to replace the 3 but the old guy there refused to sell me just one and refused to do the rotation at all unless I bought two new tires. I walked out. Took the car to a trusted mechanic who tested the tires and said they were all 6's and 7's! Discount Tire blatantly lied about the depths! Total scam! A rip-off! One of my run flat tires was losing pressure, I took it to the dealer and was quickly told that there may be slow leak caused by a nail/ screw. Since they do not repair tires, they only replaced them I had to find another option. I called Discount Tire to see whether or not my RF could be patched and I was told that it could be. I was met in their parking lot by Caleb who wasted no time getting my information to see how he could help. My car was on the lift in no time at all and I was out the door in less than 45 minutes. I called a regular mechanic in the area and told him about the situation. He recommended I come here. No appointment no call ahead I just showed up at 2 pm on a Saturday. I was taken care of in under an hour and get this FOR FREE. I wanted to tip and they wouldn't let me. A reminder to myself to get cash before coming next time. These folks are THE BEST. Ordered 4 new tires online Wednesday and set up an appointment for Saturday. Got phone calls from them when the tires came in, and the day of my appointment. When I pulled up they already had a bay reserved with my name on the sign. 45 minutes later and we were done. All for less than half the price of a dealership. Plus I got to sit by the garage window and watch them work on an awesome-looking 1970's Nova SS (not my car). They offered to repair the tire for no cost and I was ecstatic. They got the job done in relatively quick time for me coming in such short notice. Horrible service. manger and technicians completely uncaring. I made an apt 2 days early, asking them to order my tire. Arrived for my apt... no tire. They informed me that they had an alternative, similar tire. I said ok. I sat and waited for 35 min for the installation at which time, they informed me they did not have the tire they just had told me they had. Either the pool of individual from which they hire is so weak or they simply don't care about inconveniencing customers. Never go there! read more

I had 4 tires put on previously at the old location, and found out from the dealer later that 2 of the tires were actually installed inside-out and had become worn incorrectly. When returning to Discount to see what could be done, I was told that I should have brought the vehicle to them and they would have noticed their error earlier and corrected it... so apparently it was my fault. They 'generously' offered a prorated discount of $37 per tire and offered to replace the bad ones for a mere $365... or $760 for 4 new ones. Otherwise, they would flip the tires to their proper orientation, but not re-balance, rotate or do any services. So, yes... it was my fault. Thanks Discount Tire. read more
