Thanks for wasting my time Brett! Called this location and asked how long the wait is and if I should make an appointment for a simple tire change on one single tire. I was told "no just come on in there's no one in line!" Well I drive there and there's about 5 people in line in front of me and I stood there for 20 min to be told it'll be a couple hours to patch a screw in my tire. What a joke and waste of time. I even asked to make an appointment and was told it was unnecessary. Just care about packing people in and getting money not actually giving a s*** about time management or how your paying customers are spending time and money there. The best part was they didn't have the tire needed and I had to call from the air filling line just to get someone to take 30 seconds to do a "free air check". I visited Discount Tire in Madison to have a punctured tire repaired. While the repair itself was completed successfully and Hayden was polite throughout the interaction, the overall customer experience left me uncomfortable. During check-in, I was asked several personal questions that felt unrelated to having a tire repaired, including questions about where I lived, whether the vehicle belonged to me or my husband, and details about how I use the car. While I understand friendly conversation is part of customer service, the amount of personal questioning felt excessive and invasive. I was also subjected to repeated sales pitches throughout the visit. In addition to being offered various store services, I was encouraged to consider a ceramic coating service for my vehicle that was apparently part of the employee's personal detailing business. I came in for a tire repair and felt like I spent more time being sold additional products and services than discussing the repair itself. The final checkout process was particularly frustrating. The tire certificates were initially presented in a way that made them sound like they were included with the service, only for the additional cost to be explained later. By that point, I was ready to pay and leave, but the sales discussion continued longer than necessary. Last February, I went to this location and was totally ignored for a long time before leaving. (See review from 2/25) After that, I went to the Gallatin location and was treated like Royalty, and I bought a set of Michelin tires. Now in November, I thought I'd try again, as this is near where I live. This time I only needed a tire rotation. I got there around 9 am. I was second in line. The couple in front of me were greeted and served. I stood for 10 minutes without contact. 2 employees were helping other customers. Lance was giving prices on a phone call. A guy in a black shirt was typing away on the keyboard at another desk. And there I stood. After 10 minutes, I turned to the man behind me and said, "You're next." And I left. Once again, ignored. I'm beginning to think there is a portal that makes me invisible when I enter the building. I'll head back to Gallatin when I have a spare minute and get super service. We got in my SUV to take my son to an important test. Of coarse my SUV alerted me something was wrong with the pressure in my tire. I pulled up to Discount tire to have them check air and explained the issue. Christian found a nail in my tire. He told me to go inside. I explained to him about the test. He instantly started helping me. It was so appreciated. What a great guy. And I would highly recommended this place to anyone. Had me on the road in 20mins. Discount tires focus, if you can see past the patronizingly nice people is to get as many people in and out the door as possible. They're friendliness is always predicated on their process that you get to follow. It has nothing to do with what you as a customer actually need. Last time I went, I waited at least 20 minutes to speak with someone then listen to some tuner guy telling me electric vehicles are a joke. If you have no ability to see around the curve, keep your mouth shut, especially when you're talking with people you want to do business with who disagree. Thanks for the tip Henry Ford, but the world is never static and we are moving on from petroleum. After mounting and balancing my tires very quickly, I came back to the store and waited 30 minutes in a line just to pick up my vehicle. No dedicated line for people whose vehicles are ready to go, which would obviously be a wise move. Then I find that they've taken my stem caps, which were specific to my vehicle, thrown them away and put on hideous plastic chrome caps. When I asked for the old caps, they couldn't find them and said these were better because they wouldn't rust. Thanks, but my other ones hadn't rusted in five years so I think I'm OK. I had to buy new caps. Later I get home to find that my pressure light comes on because they hadn't bothered to look at the door Pilar to see what the pressure should be. My tires all go to 38 pounds front and rear and they had them all at 30. That allows me to get lousy mileage and isn't really safe either. Again, the overall tone while seemingly apologetic is a thinly veiled niceness to say move on. Do yourself a favor and skip Discount Tire. read more

Was still having a problem with a tire that was repaired by a competitor(due to emergency). Thought it was a poor job done, but it turned out it was the tpm it could've been a coincidence, but I wasn't pleased with the other place they said car was done but really wasn't dirt/black smudges on my sunvisirs, and the repaired tire didn't even have 30psi in it. These guys took care of the problem and didn't even charge me. I will be going there from now on. Great service not perfect schedule keeping. I do appreciate the fairness and price comparison, all the techs have a great customer service. I was able to sit and observe and they truly give their best at treating the customers. At this particular location,I wish they had more people at the bay, because they get busy and can't keep the schedule on time. The guy who helped me on the phone said if I could get my car in by 3 PM it would be an hour wait. I arrive at the time he tells me and I wait in their waiting room. I wait an hour and I look up and my car has not moved from where I parked it. I brought this to the attention of an employee named Mike and he scrambles to get my car into the bay to be serviced. I'm upset because my time was wasted waiting, I had somewhere to be and I was late for my appointment. The reason I chose this place over the other tire shops I called was because I was told that they could get me in and out in an hour. But that was a lie and I don't like being lied to. I understand that businesses get busy but don't try luring people in by telling them lies and not being able to deliver on your promise. Overall, the tires I received were a good deal. Probably bought 5-7 sets of tires over the years from here. What I've discovered over the last year is they've sold tires but sacrificed customer service. On more than one occasion I've come in for balance/rotation and check tire for leak. 1.5 hour wait is not customer service. They've become a place that sells the tire and the follow up services but unable to efficiently provide follow up customer service. I'd say the new Tire Discounters being built down the road will be a game changer for Rivergate Discount Tires. read more

Was told 2 hours wait. Then for sure in the next hour. Not! 3 hours. Spoke to the counter guy. Nice enough. I called early for an appt. told I didn't need one. They need to get their times right!! I am taking off work and using their word for my customers. Very disappointed. Also most had their masks under their noses. I had to ask them to cover up. No hand sanitizer. Went to discount tire today, had nail in tire. Checked with tech and it's was near center of tread, fixable. They gave me an estimate of 3 hours to get to me and get fixed. It took a little bit longer than estimate, but they were busy. They completed work and I was getting ready to pay when they advised me it was free. I advised them I had not purchased tires there, my salesperson 369 A Dennis advised it was free. After they removed nail and patched from inside tire plus rebalanced. I had a nail in my tire so I came up here for them to patch it for me and the guy that helped me said they wouldn't be able to fix it because my tire was too "smooth" around the outside and they wouldn't be able to send it back out onto the road. Leaving for the beach and noticed my tire pressure was low. It was 5:30 on a Friday and most places were closing at 6. Fantastic tire shop. Yes they are crowded, yes you usually have to wait in a short line, but I have never had to wait longer than 15 minutes to get to the desk. I am also a fan. I usually go to this location and the staff is exceptional. They check in with me, give me options, and make me feel welcome. I hesitate but I find that I do trust them. And recently I ran into a pothole in Columbus, Ohio, and had absolutely no problem with having my warranty accepted and being treated the same way there. I needed tires in a pinch and these folks got me not only a better tire than I was thinking, but saved me about 50 bucks a tire, replaced my worn out lug nuts (that apparently other auto places decided to ignore and strip out completely) and even ordered me new wheel caps for free. My fiancé and I have used discount tire several times the past few years and I am always so impressed with their service all around. They are incredibly courteous, professional, and honest. The first time I bought tires from here, there was an issue with one of my wheels from the shop who had installed and rotated my previous tires. I took my car back to the previous shop and waited 2+ hours for them to deny blame and offer no help. I called Ian a little upset with the situation and he offered to take care of everything and apologized profusely. I was so impressed with them. It's truly impressive service when a business takes care of a customer like that, especially with a problem they did not cause. Got an appointment but seems meaningless. Spent half my week waiting for these bums, they are speed demons getting your credit card and making sales but clueless keeping time. Don't promise what you can't keep. Check batteries when customers by new rims or tires, 4 guts watching two work on the floor. Save your 4-6 hours and go elsewhere. No management to insure customers are not having their time wasted. He gave my the options for different prices and how they were rated for My kind of Driving. He was Awesome and gave me an Estimate of the time for the tires.
