I've been a loyal customer to this place for years, that changes today , we waited 3 hours for a simple 10 minute plug and go , wife went done the road and purchased 4 new tires and had em installed in 30 minutes at Monteith Tire , I have 3 vehicles I get tires for regularly from discount, again that stops today , do better discount before you lose more loyalty , of all the years I've been there I've never had service this bad or slow , that right there is how you lose repeat customers , this is what they do if you pay for a warranty for your tires and come to have a repair, they shove you all the way to past closing time cause your not paying for service at that point in time read more

I am writing to express my appreciation for the exceptional service provided by Justin from Discount Tire. Not only did he put air in my tires, but he also noticed that my windshield wipers were in poor condition and recommeended replacing them. Although the basic wipers were priced at $30, I informed him that I needed to get approval from my supervisor. I used to work at discount tire for three years. And I'm starting to realize this store is a joke. I have not yet bought tires from here nor do I want to. This is my second time waiting to get my tires air. Checked for about 30 minutes And it shouldn't take me 30 minutes to wait for someone to come out and air check my tires. Back when I worked at discount tire as soon as someone pulled up to the air check station we had to drop everything and take care of the customer. And I shouldn't have had to get out of my car and air check my own tires. Excellent and professional customer service. Driving to work on a Monday morning and noticed my tire pressure was severely low, some may say flat. Called ahead and asked if I needed an appointment and was told just to come straight over. Once there I had a short wait, and asked to pull in and wait. Maybe 10-15 minute wait until someone helped and gave me an estimated time of checking tire and fixing. 1 hour in and out with no appointment- I'm impressed and thankful. I wish I could remember all their names but they treated me well and allowed me to wait in my car rather than the waiting room. I highly recommend this place. read more

They are a good business, but their costs are getting way out of hand. 92.00 for installation? Free at Sam's, "Certificates" For free repair or replacement ? 258.00...um, Free at Sam's and for 2 years longer. A 1300.00 set of tires suddenly became 1700.00 out the door. Same thing at Sam's club? 1200.00 appx out the door with an additional 100.00 Sam's rebate. It used to be you made an appointment so you would be served at arrival time, now you make an appointment so you "won't have to wait as long".... What if restaurants did this? Again, I think they are still a good business, but they are getting a little too big for their britches cost wise.... read more

Walk in appointment, went in at 3:25. Person said it should be done about 4:20. Cool, well 4:20 rolled around and then i get told its gonna be another hour... Let me start by saying that we have been Discount Tire customers for over 10 years.. That ended on Tuesday.. We had a blowout on a trailer tire over the weekend.. On Tuesday I took the blown tire in to have it replaced just as we had done 6 months ago for a different tire on the same trailer.. I paid $118 for the new tire and left it to be picked up later in the day.. At about 4:30 I went back to get my tire only to find out that not only had they not done it, but that they weren't ever going to do it.. Apparently they decided that the same work they had done six months ago, replace a tire on my trailer, could not be done this time because it required a special "trailer tire".. Fine, you want to upsell me to a more expensive tire.. Unfortunately, no one makes a "trailer tire" in that size.. No one.. My option was to get a tire that was one size smaller, or replace all 5 tires.. Dual axle +1 spare.. The real problem though isn't that they were refusing to do the work.. It was that they never bothered to even let me know about it.. They had the tire for 6 hours and didn't bother to pick up the phone and let me know that there was an issue.. Zack, apparently the person that makes the rules, wouldn't even come in to the show room to talk to me.. He sent the sales rep back to tell me too bad.. I understand that there are some times technical problems, but absolutely pathetic customer service on Zack's part has made me leave Discount Tire and never shop there ever again. read more

They patched my tire for FREE after I got a nail in it. I didn't even buy my tires from them and they gladly helped me! I went to 2 other places (Moneteith, Jordan Ford) prior and both wanted to charge me 18 dollars to 22 dollars. The store on 33 has great customer service and really helped me out!! read more

So I have always been a Discount tire customer, but living in Niles the new Belle tire was closer to home a couple months ago for a full new set of tires on my f150. Today I had a flat in Elkhart, Belle tire of course was already closed, so I rolled into Discount, explained my situation, and they hooked me up! Found that those new tires from Belle we're separating, and offered to buy them back from me and put a better set of tires on for $150. Couldn't appreciate the management and staff at this location more than right now! Belle tires customer service when I was in paying full price for 4 new truck tires from them was awful. The worst tire experience I've ever had. I ordered a tire online, said it would be at the store on Saturday. I called the store on Friday before hand and they said "yes, it will be here on Saturday". So I wait around all day Saturday for a call, nothing... at 4PM I decide I should probably just go in because I need the tire installed.. I get there, and there is no tire... so the tech says, leave the rim and I'll get the tire on it Monday and then you can just pick it up. OK, fine... so comes Monday, I'm leaving work at 5;15 and I haven't heard from discount tire, who would have guessed that?!? So I once again call. The tech says, oh yes, your tire is here it just hasn't been key'd in yet. We'll get it done today and call you when it's ready. So I asked, what time do you close... he says 6, but they will stay late so I can get. Great. I'll be waiting for the call. I get the call at 6:13 PM that it's ready. I said great, I'll be there at 6:30... he says he will only wait 15 minutes, not 17 minutes?!? Seriously. Will never ever even think about getting another tire or sending a friend or family member to them for work. What a waste of my time and effort. read more

I worked at Discount Tire from 2001 to 2005 as a Assistant Store Manager. During that time it was a great company that cared about people. Yesterday, I went there with the Mustang, and I informed the guy that both rear tires had rim leaks, and that there wasn't any screws, nails, etc in the tread, just rim leaks. All four tires and wheels are from Discount Tire with the warranty. I also informed him that the tires on the front are directional, and when they rotated them in November( 5 months ago), they have them facing the wrong direction. I explain all this, and drop off the car. They call me 2 hours later and inform me that the vehicle is done and ready to be picked up, nothing more and nothing less, its done and ready to be picked up. Great, so I arrive at Discount Tire about an hour later, and after waiting in line for 15 minutes with 6 people in front of me and not a soul to be found, I finally get to the counter. The salesman tells me that the rear tires where only rim leaks, no punctures, and they were fixed but there is a charge for that. Ok, I told him that upfront, and the was never a charge before for that! Then he says he will take care of the charge just this one time, but the tires are approaching 5 years old and the certificate warranty will expire at 5 years! Since when did the "LIFETIME WARRANTY" expire? Then he tells me the tires on the front are over 10 years old, they no longer have a warranty after 5 years, even thought they have 8/32 of tread, and by law they cannot rotate them without legal consequences. But they were able to rotate them in November? Even more disturbing, why is it when they called me and said the car was done, that they didn't explain any of this? Why just say it was done? This is very similar to how they did my wife April in February when she wanted the 37 inch tires from there rotated on her truck, but since those where not the original size tires from the factory, they legally couldn't rotate them. It seems that Discount Tire has gotten away from taking care of people, and now has this very strict set of make believe guidelines that makes it hard to have any work completed. On top of that, the communication there is very poor now. I guess Discount Tire is no longer where I'll have any work done, or spend any money. read more

As I was out of town I really needed this service and they were accommodating, even to the point where their staff had to stay late to do it. When the job was compete I was not charged so, I made an appointment to purchase tires on my way back. It is this kind of service that keeps me loyal to a business. Went in to have my tires checked because I had a flat tire, and they said there was a nail in it. They ended up patching it for free! I would definitely come back here again. They are friendly and nice and quick. Also, what they didn't know is that my mom was with me and was planning on buying a new set of tires. And because they were so great about everything, she decided to buy her tires from there too. One quick side note: they let me know if I didn't have a nail in it, then they couldn't let me drive away with the tire damaged so I would have to have my spare one put on instead. Or, purchase a new tire. But I didn't have to do either, because it ended up being a nail. read more

We had to visit Discount Tire late this afternoon after it was brought to our attention the driver side rear tire was very low. We bought our tires and hazard warranty from the Mishawaka location. Since we now reside in Goshen we visited the Elkhart location. We were greeted by Jay Sink. We told him the problem and he went outside to look at our tires. When he came in he said the tire needs to be looked at and there is a 3-hour wait - the place was busy. I told Jay I can't drive the Jeep with that low tire but my concern is my diabetic husband not having a meal waiting 3 hours. I told him we'd wait - but I think Jay saw the concern on my face regarding my husband. As we sat waiting, Jay came out with a Protein Bar - he wanted my husband to have it. Seriously I can't say it enough how thoughtful that was of Jay. My fears of the wait subsided knowing my husband got something to eat to keep his sugars level. The technicians got our tire repaired and all was good. I 100% recommend Discount Tire - first because their tires are of good quality; second the hazard warranty is a must when you purchase tires (we left without paying anything!); third the customer service is AWESOME! Also to add a little humor we loved hearing the technicians who were working on the cars singing Christmas Carols - that definitely made me smile! I visited Discount Tire in Elkhart a while back to get a flat tire replaced. The place was hard to get to since the street was under construction. But, as soon as I pulled in, an employee was there to open my door and do a quick visual inspection. My greeting was, "Good morning! I see you need a new tire! Just go ahead and check in, have a seat and some coffee and you'll be ready to go in no time!" And that's just what it was! Had a tire issue after we had our new tires (screw in our tire). Spent 2 hours waiting for repair. Have another leaking tire. The appointment they gave was for 2 1/2 days from now. Funny, when we went in the store to buy our tires originally, they were installed so quickly it made your head spin. Who could have known their service is sooo extremely poor.
