I have been a customer here for over 10 years at this point and originally when I started buying tires here everything was great and the service was incredible. Now over the last 3 years I have bought at least 3 full sets of tires, 2 sets of rims, and sets of TPMS sensors. Every single time I come in for my scheduled appointment I wait for over an hour at minimum, sometimes upwards of 3 hours. Almost every single time my TPMS light ends up coming on because my tires were not inflated correctly and my sensors were not recalibrated. I was told I wouldn't have to wait the next time I came in to get the tires inflated properly and that I would receive some sort of discount for the repeated issues I have every single time I am there. Not only did I not receive any discount I also waited for 2 hours after my appointment time to get my tires rotated. The tires are definitely worth it but the service has been going further and further downhill with every visit, not to mention being lied to about a "discount" and wait times. At this point I am going to shop elsewhere. I would rather spend more on the tires and actually be treated as a valued customer, rather than sit in the waiting room for 1-3 hours and then still have issues when I leave so that I have to come back and do it all over again. read more

I bought news tires in February. At that time I was told I only needed back tires, good tread on other set. keeping in mind those tires had 40,000 miles on them, 2015 Equinox.. I sold my car in September with 42,000plus miles on it. (I don't get out much). August I had a tire sensor that went out, then another one just before it was sold. The person I sold it to, had a tire sensor go out. And they left with 4 new tires and 4 tire sensors!! The manager told her the new tires had lost over 1/3 of the tread in 7 months, even though it took over 10 years to need new tires. Did I become a hot rod in those 10 years? I think not. And they told her she needed 3 new tire sensors! She asked since they told her new tires were not great if a new set would be better, and of course he said yes. So I spent over $700 and then she spent another $1400 6 months later. Tires is their business but they couldn't tell a new set of tires and sensors? I called I wasn't happy that they screwed them over!! He was, well I told her she needed just 2 but 4 would be better because tread was low and she needed 4 sensors. They don't realize word of mouth is so much better when people are honest and you get repeat business. 5th Street Tire didn't screw me over, go there instead! read more

Had a truck tire with a piece of metal in the tread. Wasn't leaking, but I didn't want to chance it with a trip coming up. Was able to get an appointment on a Monday (with a Sunday online request). Had it repaired within a half hour. Fixed with no charge. Yes, it was a punchered, so a flatcwaiting to happen. Will be going back when I need a new set of tires. read more

We were visiting Cedar Falls from out of town. As we were about to leave to start driving home, our low tire pressure light came on and we noticed a nail in our tire. We called Discount Tire and they said they could get us in right away. They patched our tire and as a first time customer, didn't even charge us. We bought Michelin defender tires with 80000 mile warranty and full road hazard coverage. Before I bought the tires we had all the rack and pinion parts . Tie rod end , struts, control arm and anything else do do with moving parts fixed. We had the alignment done after tire install. I had the tires balanced rotated as per schedule and alignment checked. The last rotation showed uneven wear and cupping on all 4 tires. The mechanic checked everything over including alignment and found nothing wrong. The mechanics told me its the tires not the car. I went to discount tires waited my turn in line. The guy came out and examined the tires. He informed me , I needed 4 new tires. I have 47000 miles left on warranty. He said and I quote " The warranty on tires only covers tread wear" "I will not get anything back from these tires." I might be able to ask manufacture for a goodwill credit." We went inside he informed me that i would have to pay 364.00 dollars for tires. But they were graciously covering cost of new road hazard. Warranty covers more than just tread wear. He was more concerned about not getting any money back from manufacture than covering the warranty.A second guy followed me out to my car as I was leaving (after tellinng them I will never do business with them again) I asked are you going to cover warranty or not ? no response. Bottom line they do not care about customers, do not want to cover warranty. I will never shop with them again and I will tell everyone I know not to shop there. read more

Beware of salesperson Paul N Ribbens,lies to make a sale.Wanted my usual good year tires,could order but would be 4 days.We have contenental tires,with rebate,not true!!Although discount tire did give me a debit card to cover his lie.Asked are they USA made like good years.Don't know he said but will go to the tires in back and check.He came back and said yes they are,LIE.I can't even pronounce the name of the country they are made in that was on the tire when i checked at home. Great store but if he hasn't been fired,ask for an honest salesperson. I have bought my tires at american/discount tire since 2001.Will continue but probably not this store. read more

Tried to have my tire pressure checked yesterday. There were two people ahead of me. No one was helping them. After I waited 10 minutes (not sure how long the other customers had waited) I asked one of the techs who told me they were not doing pressure checks because of staff shortages. I understand staff shortages can happen. I don't understand ignoring customers who are waiting in line when you have no intention of helping them. How hard is it to close the line and put up a sign? read more

I got there when they opened in the morning and there was no wait. I had a flat tire. They took my info and knew I bought it there (I didn't need to bring in any proof; they keep the records). They fixed it quickly and for free. No fees. And they were very nice about it. When we bought our tires, the prices were reasonable, and they didn't try to up-sell us beyond what we needed. Friendly staff, however while evaluating a tire warning issue they stripped my lug nut & told me they couldn't help and that I now should proceed to take car to a "mechanic" to have the damage they induced corrected.... I had a flat from a nail in the road, so I put my spare on and made an appointment with them online. They got me in same day, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out the puncture repair was FREE. I went in the store to purchase 4 new tires, the store manager assisted me. He ordered the tires and set an appointment to have them put on that following Saturday, but first I had to pay $50 down. However, when I arrived back for my appt, he told me that there were 8 people ahead of me. What is the point of making an appointment then?? I ended up going to my mechanic to get new tires and when I contacted Discount Tire to let them know the tires are not needed, the rep WOULD NOT refund my $50. A TOTAL rip off and a horrible HORRIBLE experience dealing with everyone at that store. read more

Looking at all the reviews on Yelp and Google, I was more than willing to give these guys a try, especially after looking at their prices. The wife and I went to their CF store on a Monday, mid-morning, to get tires for her van. It was a little busy, but nothing crazy. We made eye contact with both of the gentlemen behind the counter and then walked around the showroom while they finished with the customers they were helping. One of the guys finished and disappeared into the back. I grabbed some free coffee and we waited near the front. The other guy finished and he disappeared into the back. We waited some more. A couple of mechanics came and went and still nothing from the guys who were behind the counter. I finished my coffee and checked my watch. Ten minutes since we had walked in the door and we had yet to be acknowledged by anyone. Then a customer came in the door and both of the guys who had been behind the counter came out and walked right past us to greet him. That was it for us. We headed out the door and went to Tandem. Ended up spending over six hundred dollars on tires (the same ones we had planned on getting from Discount at almost the same price) and were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. We had heard so many good thing about these guys and we really wanted to give them our business, but they apparently didn't need it. In a couple months, when I start shopping for tires for my truck, Discount Tire won't be on my list. read more

I called to see if they could service a tire and told they could. I dropped the tire off and was advised it would be about 1 1/2 and they would call me at the number I gave them. I went by about an 1 1/2 later and the shop was dark and everyone was pulling out of the lot. I didn't receive a call. My car is without a tire a not driveable since they didn't even bother to tell me they wouldn't be able to get it done. Terrible service. Would definitely not do business with this business. read more
