They also caught a few other things that needed attention and we authorized them to go ahead with those. I was very impressed with their professionalism and I highly recommend them.

We got it home and the next time we used it, it didn't start. we called them and they said we need to try to jump it before towing it again, as it must be a defective battery since we didn't get it from them. I said I will NOT be towing it again. We towed it somewhere else and they said it needed a new starter. sparks were flying everywhere from it. Tuffys will NOT stand by their shoddy work.

It's illegal in some areas to drive without at least 2/32 of your tread left.) Anyway, my local dealer quoted me $500+ to replace both tires including tire cost and labor cost. For two tires. Ouchies. So, I was pretty quick to run nearly-screaming the other way. After hearing dubious stories about some other tire stores as well as doing some checking into online reviews, the 5th Street Tire Co came up having good reviews. I gave them a call as I wanted a same-day appointment, and they gave me their earliest available time. It was an hour later than I could make it. I asked for an earlier time, and they said "Okay. We'll make it work." Yay! Their quoted price was $350 which was definitely a nice price break compared to what my dealer wanted. They said it would take less than an hour. When it came time for my appointment, I showed up a half-hour earlier just in case they could fit me in earlier. It took a bit of time for someone to show up at the front desk, but once they did, they were super helpful and assured me it'd be next in queue. They have a small waiting area that was showing a soap opera. It's definitely not the "highest" quality of seating or anything, but it was more comfortable than other places I've been, and it was quite and comfortable enough to read a book I'd brought. I did take a short stroll outside, but the nearby residential neighborhood struck me as slightly concerning, so I'm not sure I'd recommend taking a walk unless you're familiar with the neighborhood. Despite dropping it off a half-hour earlier, they still had my tires changed, rotated, and ready within an hour - and get this! It ended up only being $250! I pretty much cut my original quoted price in half, and they did a fantastic job. Throughout the entire process, they were extremely friendly and accommodating, and nobody once tried to upsell me anything. Nobody tried to fake me into purchasing new brakes, getting the oil changed (though that would have been warranted since it's due for a new change in 200 miles), or anything. Nothing about it felt "shady", and I never once felt anything but respected as a customer. Very impressed compared to the horror stories I always hear about tire places. Everyone was courteous, extremely happy to work around my schedule, and really friendly. I'm super, duper happy with my service here, and I will go out of my way to buy tires here again in the future.

Luckily (and I hope I'm not jinxing it!) nothing has gone wrong with the car up until now, so after reading the good review here, I figured I'd try Mad Hatter for my oil change. I called on a Tuesday, and they were able to make a flexible appointment time for me for whatever worked best on Thursday. They quoted me between a half-an-hour and a hour to get it done, and they let me know they had a waiting room to sit in. As the other review says, the parking lot here is a bit of a pain. The employees seem used to backing out giant SUVs and pick-ups here and didn't seem to have a moment of hesitation, but I was glad I had a tiny 4-door sedan to deal with. I had room to back out, but it definitely was not one of my more favorite places to park. I checked in for my appointment, and I told them that I'd be going next door to Brick House Yogurt to have a snack while I waited. Not only did they say that they'd probably have it done within 20 minutes, but they also gave me some coupons to save on my purchase over at Brick House. Yay! When I walked out of the building, they were already pulling in my car for the oil change. Turns out that Brick House was closed (boo! Also, as a note, Brick House Yogurt is less than a half-block away, so you easily can drop off your car and go get a treat while you wait), so I ended up waiting in the waiting room. The chairs are comfortable enough, and there was an educational video playing about tire alignment. It was actually really helpful as I didn't know most of that information. In about 30 total minutes, my car was done, and I paid. You get a 5% discount for paying with cash, so my total came out to about $29 for my oil change. Definitely not too bad! They were super friendly throughout the transaction, and my car was nicely parked back in the parking lot. As a sidenote, the "oil change reminder" stickers they place in the upper-left-hand corner of your car windows are definitely a LOT less gaudy than most places. It's see-through, and it just has tiny typed-in details that work as a reminder without being annoying. It's half the size of the last sticker the mechanic put in, and I like it much better. Final Thoughts: I'll definitely be coming back. Along with being close to one of my favorite places to snack, the service was super friendly and very quick. My car is happy again, and I know where I'll be coming back when I next need an oil change.
