It was an overall pleasant experience, except for the communication with the salesman promoting the company. Once we signed the contract, he never followed through on anything. We were impressed, however, with the promptness, speed and precision of the service crew that did the installation of our new roof. They did a great job, as did the owner of the company who immediately addressed our concerns. I recently contacted Hector, the owner of Jimmy Roofing and asked for a big on reroofing a duplex in Northville and a roof repair on a 5-unit building I own next door to the duplex. Hector connected me with his son Keven. who came out and inspected the two jobs. He emailed me the bids and we proceeded from there. I was totally pleased during on my second experience with Jimmy Roofing and can't say enough about the communication between the company and myself. The service people who did the jobs as contracted arrived on time, worked efficiently and did everything as promised to my total satisfaction. I have other properties and jobs that I will be contracting with Jimmy Roofing in the future as I have been impressed with their fair pricing and wonderful work ethic.

Found them…read moreon the Better Business Bureau's web site and could not be happier with our experience with Dominic, Mario, the mason, and the whole Roof Advance team. Dominic did a complete inspection before telling us our options. He walked around on the roof and took photos. He did not try to talk us into any upgrades, but we decided since the roof was old, we'd ask for the shingles and any decking to be repaired. We decided we wanted the medium excellence option. We also asked for attic blown-in insulation, new gutters, and gutter shields. Dominic told us they'd put in some attic vents. In the end, they took it down to the rafters! As we had to be away when they started, Dominic was in touch with us on the phone or by email every step of the way, and answered every question. Roof Advance gave our little old house the boost it needed! It looks great, and, we have peace of mind knowing that we won't have to climb up to clean the gutters any more. They even gave us a senior discount, which we were not expecting. Their requested deposit wasn't a lot of money. They have an easy way to pay by e-check, or by credit card online. I literally do construction inspection for a living. I spent 2 months doing research and picking a roofer, I educated myself on all the different products: GAF versus CertainTeed versus Owens Corning... drip edge, starter strips, ice and water shield, underlayment, different types of shingles, ridge caps / vents, can vents, talked a lot about ventilation! I ended up cold calling 8 places to get 6 quotes, 4 of which were all great. I could have went with any of the 4. Made an excel spreadsheet... But C.H.I. just stood apart. Excellent customer service, and Jim took care of us every step of the way. From the moment we met Jim, we could tell he was our guy. Very nice, not pushy at all. Jim quickly responded to any questions I had from my "research" phase, answering all my questions about the different products, all the way through "roof install day". I called him when I had a question the morning my roof was being installed. He answered right away and gave a great answer to my question. Chris the Foreman was great, too. As the roof was being installed, Chris answered all my questions and forwarded my messages to his workers and, another thing that set them apart was that they didn't follow the exact same "design" of my roof from the 1990's: Chris and his crew went above and beyond to add a few vents and things to do it the right way, because he (in his expertise) thought it looked better and would be better if the roof was installed "that" way instead of the original way from 30 years ago. I totally agreed, glad they decided to add a few things to my roof. Customer Service was top-notch! I learned when it comes to roofing, you'll read different things about the material companies. Some people swear by GAF, some people swear by CertainTeed. The material is what it is - it's the INSTALLATION that counts. If the roof SYSTEM is not installed correctly, that's when you'll have problems, regardless of material. In the end, that's why we picked C.H.I. - someone we can TRUST to do it right. I've always heard "time, money, quality: pick 2". This is my first time doing a project on the house where I honestly believe a contractor gave me all three: quick responses, quick installation (time), VERY high quality products and installation all the way through, and a VERY good price. C.H.I. gave me time, money, AND quality. Take it from me - an engineer who dug deep into way too much unnecessary detail. Do not hire this company. We had nothing but trouble getting the job done. We were given multiple…read moredays of coming to do the job and it was changed at least three times. They misrepresented the quality of the shingles. We were told they were the same quality as we had and they weren't. We ordered one color and later told we had to order another color. Our neighbor used the same company and we were assured they were not waiting to do both jobs on the same day. We had our order in ahead of theirs and guess what, both were done in one day. My husband had to go over to the roofers and say, we are first. We were charged for the dumpster rental as was our neighbors and we shared the one dumpster. It was just one thing after another with this company. When the roofers finally showed up the job they did was so-so. There were ripples in the roof edge and we asked them to fix it. It was because we had metal gutter guards on our gutters. So instead of taking the time to do the job correctly, they cut them! Yes, cut them. It voided our warranty and ended up costing us an additional $475 to replace them. Roof Advisor offered to install some cheap plastic ones, telling us that was industry standard and my own research proved that to be untrue. They would have been down the street the first storm we had. By the time the roofers arrived I had lost all confidence in this company, but the supplies had been sitting on our roof for weeks. The supplies were delivered, the shingles put on the roof and the accessories next to the house. It was taking so long after delivery my senior husband had to move it to the garage so it wouldn't be damaged or stolen. It was over two months from the first date we were given until the poor work was done. No permits were filed and we had to ask for that to be done. We had to remind the roofers that the vent needed to be installed, they were in the dumpster. There was poor communication, poor salemanship, poor information related, and just a poor company in all. The company who came to replace the gutter guards said we should send a copy of the bill to Roof Advisor because it was appalling what they did. No reputable company would do this. So, there you have it. No, we did not send the bills because we know it would do no good. Save yourself the aggravation and go with another company.
