The owner and staff were most personable while helping me to select the appropriate windows and color. The fact that they measured my windows twice before ordering told me how professional and exacting they were. Thoughtfully, they installed windows in a single room at a time so I could minimize heat loss. Each window was completed before they left for the day so that I would be completely comfortable overnight. Clean-up was thorough. Staff members while working were pleasant, conversational and informative. Each step of the job was planned out beforehand so that the windows, materials, and number of staff were on hand. I always knew when they were coming and they gave me some idea of the goals for the day. When the job was complete, the final bill approximated the estimate very closely. My windows are in and they look great. My heating bills this winter went down significantly. I am very pleased by the professional work and the professional demeanor of the owner and staff of Mt. We hired James to build a small deck on the rear of our home, our criteria; it had to be unique, not overpower the original design of the home or appear to look like an afterthought. James took a complete ownership approach to our project and the final outcome proved his expertise. Jim is extremely knowledgeable, a rare craftsman with many years of finish carpentry experience, which is what we were seeking in a builder. From choice of materials, framing, conception and design, the final outcome exceeded our expectations. We are planning on having James build phase 2 of this deck next summer, adding a bridge, and another bigger deck area, which will extend further into the yard. He scrutinizes all materials purchased for any flaws and purchases from Sequin Lumber, which is another feather in his cap. The solidness of the deck is evident as soon as you step on to it and that is what we value. James is a rare example of integrity and expert builder in a complete package. We highly recommend James Scherzer.

For such dirty work they worked very cleanly, meaning there were no lingering pieces of brick or anything from the porch demolition or remnants of the trees and bushes from their removal.
