Although the national average for jet blasting a pipe is $475, I chose the fast turnaround of $1000 from DPR. After just 4 ft of jet blasting, they investigated and found the pipe is tree root blocked and must be replaced. $1000 later, It remains clogged so for all functional purposes, is like they never visited at all. I asked for a discount because that much money for "attempting" is a huge rip off. Management refused because, after all, the contract says "attempt". I can say thank you for the lesson in understanding that plumbers from DPR only have to attempt to do the job. They don't have to actually do the job but you still have to pay the full price.. read more

We called Discount Plumbing Rooter when our electric hot water heater suddenly failed because they were recommended by the manufacturer, Rheem. They sent out Angel Ogaz and Javier Diaz to inspect our unit and they concisely described the problem with Rheem over the phone to acurately order the correct parts. When parts arrived, Angel was back, installing a new heat probe and thermostat. He also inspected the tank and hoses to make sure there were no other problems. Why do plumbing problems seem to happen on Sundays and holidays? Luck of the draw, I reached Discount Plumbering and Rooter. Angel at the call center was kind and helpful. I felt fortunate that someone could come out to see me the same day. I had read some reviews here about pricing and upselling, but it was a Sunday. The good news is that the estimate is free. There is no charge for them to come. The bad news is that he didn't have a camera, and wanted to come back the next day before even starting. Wanting the sewer main cleared, I asked him how much it would be, and was quoted a ridiculous amount to run a snake through the vent from my roof. I thanked him with a chuckle. I found this company on Yelp. I was tired of paying outrageously high prices to another plumber. They responded quickly and did not try to charge me extra because I called after 12 noon for same day service. Despite a rough start they did a very big costly job at a rental unit. So far so good!! They also offered very valuable guidance. When it came time to replace a toilet at the same rental unit they provided the toilet at a very reasonable fee AND installed it at no cost to me. Amazing service! I needed someone to come observe & replace the water valve that goes to my refrigerator ASAP! I didn't even know anything was wrong until my new fridge was being delivered and couldn't be installed because of the faulty valve.
