Yelp shows that the store closes at 6pm, I showed up at 5:44pm, the gate was locked and the employee was driving away. Not cool.

Not looking good in the years I have been going it was a cool store to come talk to the girl April but she moved on and a few other who worked there moved on too no they have new management but not looking good with the potting soil so high like other hyrdo places with low prices they looking like they might go belly up and their inventory looking small not good for us customer looking for a deal it being blk Friday they used to have good deals now don't know what to think or even go there anymore we will see what the future hold out or not? read more

First impression was great but I'm going to have to say that the prices here are OUTRAGEOUS. I will never be returning here again because I'm paying double the price for something I can easily get elsewhere. Due to last minute complications I had no other choice but to this location. I really recommend staying away from this shop unless you've got a lot of money and would like to overpay for everything. This place is awesome! First contact was over the phone. The girl that answered the phone was extremely friendly and answered my question right away. I told her that i would be right in for some hydroton clay pebbles. I was extremely impressed by the showroom. It is really nice and clean. Very welcoming I must add. I feel bad for forgetting the name of the lady that helped me out. She helped us as soon as she was done with some customers and was very informative and helpful when it came to choosing the right bag for me. I would definitely go back again. Meh this store does not have much in stock. Tried to get some Happy Frog Soil and the guy said that is hard to come buy called a few other stores they had it by the pallet load. No one was even at the front desk, wandered trying to find someone. read more

This is by far one of the best hydroponic stores I have been to. They have a wide variety of products from pots, soil, tools, fertilizers, lights, fans. They have great prices on all there products and great staff to help you with any questions you might have. read more

OK store with OK selection and OK prices... the customer service however leaves something to be desired. I'm somewhat new to hydroponics (~1.5 years growing) yet I felt more knowledgeable than most of the staff; who are utterly clueless. When you deviate from their personal growing endeavors their inexperience really shines through. Furthermore, they don't seem to care about the customer at all; I was even told (I'll admit this person had some knowledge) that they did not have time to help me select an item, without even bothering to grab another member of the staff or at least giving me some guidelines to follow... what a joke! My advice; close your store front, stick to online sales, and contract your call center out overseas... it'll be better than what you currently offer customers; besides, any return business you have is b/c the customer has no alternatives. read more

EXPENSIVE HYDROPONICS SHOULD BE THIER NAME, everything is considerably more than almost every other hydro shop I have ever been to, we use slot of product wether it's coco or trimming sheers and when we have compared supply costs run to run between discount hydroponics and green past hydroponics we noticed over a 33% difference is expenses, that means for every $1000 spent we are literally giving them over $300 extra for the same exact products, WORD OF ADVICE PEOPLE "SHOP AROUND A LITTEL DRIVE TO ONTARIO COULD SAVE YOU THOUSANDS! read more

AVOID THIS STORE-I tried to return an item I had bought a week prior and they wouldn't let me. As soon as I walked in and said I was returning an item I was getting attitude from both of the help there for trying to return a week old, UNUSED, UNOPENED item. If you are new to hydroponics it is all about trial and error. You will buy a few things that doesn't quite work for your system. I spent over $300 there. You think they would value customers. I spent over $2700. CASH here and when i to return 2 things i did not need they would not give me my CASH back. The receipt says NOTHING about no Cash returns. The boxes had NOT been opened, they checked and said "No- these boxes have not been opened" Yet they would only give me a store credit of over $550. - what's up with that? my cash spent just fine. they have not overcharged me and then given me a "discount" they are THIEVES and NOT good business people. They have lost a potentially good repeat customer and i have told every hydro grower i know NOT to shop there as the prices are HIGH and they are NOT nice. read more

I emailed a number of times and tried calling them back to ask what the issue was and never once received a response. DH has great prices. Everything I've bought has been the same or cheaper as if I just ordered it online, but I don't have to wait. I drove over an hour to that store and they sold me a water pump that was the wrong pressure so i drove all the way back to exchange for a bigger one a day later and they didnt want to let me return the wrong size without a receipt taking advantage of me over something worth 20 bucks. childish and very greedy. horrible business waste of my damn time. telling every farmer i know to stay away from these kids. read more

This place SUCKS!!!! About two weeks ago I went here to buy new air stones and an 8 outlet air pump among a few other things. Between my work schedule and home life I was unable to start using the new pump and things I got until Monday April 4th, everything worked smoothly and I was happy. Today ( Thursday April 7th ) upon inspection I noticed that 4 of the 8 outlets on the pump were not pumping air into the buckets, I tried everything short of taking the pump apart to no avail. I then decided to call and attempt to have the problem sorted considering the pump had only been used 3 days before breaking, so I call discount hydro to ask them to fix it. I was told by an unruly employee theres nothing they can do other then send the pump back to the manufacturer, this is the shittiest customer service I've ever received! I could understand if I made the purchase months ago, but to only have gotten 2-3days use out of a brand new piece of equipment I feel as though steps should've been taken to REPLACE the pump no questions asked. Don't shop at this place! Goto green coast hydroponics in riverside instead, the prices there are just as good as DH, and they won't take a flaming hot crap on you if a piece of equipment THEY SOLD YOU was DEFECTIVE!!! IM APPALLED at the lack of help DH was willing to give when the issue was not of my own causing, of all the hydro shops between Big Bear and DH I had plenty of options but drove the extra length on account of doing business with DH for years before moving to California. I'll never shop here again, in person or on their Internet website, and I urge people to find a BETTER SHOP like green coast where they actually CARE about their customer base and their needs and issues. read more
