One area that remains the same is the area surrounding the movie theater. I remember my first theater experience here watching the motion picture Aladdin. I'm glad the mall remains open and has kept some of its original charm. Sadly, many malls are having a hard time staying afloat. During my two hour visit, I experienced quite a bit. First I'll start with the least enjoyable parts. When I first walked in, I immediately noticed a woman at the lower-level sports bar and grill wearing a thong and a shirt. Not a short skirt, like her coworker only a thong. It's definitely not what I expected to see after returning for the first time in five years. She quickly moved out of view when she noticed my reaction, but it still left a strong first impression. As I headed up the escalator, I was approached by staff from La Perla handing out menus and trying to guide me into their restaurant. The same thing happened as I walked through the food court. I wouldn't call it a bad experience, but it did feel a bit overwhelming as my first encounter upon entering the upper-level of the mall. From my experience working in a mall, I've noticed food court staff often offer samples, which I think is a more inviting way to attract customers. A small taste can go a long way, when a restaurant wants to acquire new customers and grow their clientele. I read reviews regarding the food court establishments beforehand, and many mentioned rude service, overpriced and subpar food. It would have been nice to try good authentic Mexican cuisine rather than the usual Tex-Mex I tend to eat. I did stop by Mr. Churro, where I enjoyed a cup of ice cream fully loaded with toppings of my choice. Next, while shopping at Burlington and Ross, I noticed loss prevention stationed at the entrances. Having my bag checked and showing my receipt felt a bit uncomfortable, but I understand it's become a common practice to prevent stealing. Another unexpected moment happened while I was shopping. A young toddler suddenly balled up his fist hitting my shopping bag like it was a punching bag. His mother told him to stop but didn't apologize. Later, I saw him hitting his mother repeatedly while she did nothing to correct the behavior, which was uncomfortable to witness. On a more positive note, I really enjoyed the vibrant cultural atmosphere of the plaza. The beautiful quinceañera dresses, crowns, bouquets, and accessories are stunning. The cowboy boots, hats, and western attire also stood out to me. There's a center stage for performances, a creatively designed Dino plaza, and several eye catching displays that make for great photo opportunities. Overall, I had a great time and would come back on a weekday when it's less crowded to enjoy the many food court options and shops.

We did enjoy our tour, but after a while, I felt like I was in a maze. Thier was a band blasting the tunes. Man I'm impressed. We will certainly be back but during the week when hopefully it will be easier to navigate great place for the little ones as it has sculptures located throughout I took a few pictures but there is plenty more to see

There is a barbershop here I like to visit - a sushi place I enjoy and a running store - not to mention a great Chick fil an and larger grocery store plus outdoors supply place in the same area - all of these I like to visit and we have enjoyed each of them and more many times! I also love the historic parts of the beauty in old place and how much character it has!

First of all, did you know they have a Concierge? They are on duty 24/7. When, I was there on a Wednesday afternoon a friendly and likeable Hispanic guy was working there. It's good to know someone is looking out for you. You can sleep peacefully at night. The entry way was breathe taking with an oversized horse to greet you. There's also a unique geometric fixture that hangs in front of the elevator that's very appealing. Upstairs, the hallways are spacious and each tenant has a small built in shelf next to their door. Most people like to display welcoming decor there. It's fun to walk the halls and look at the different decor displayed. This high rise condo offers a rooftop pool, a movie room and three stories of parking! It seems like the majority of people who reside here are mature in age. Everyone seems to be very friendly too. If you want to live your dreams now. You should live your dreams at the Montgomery Plaza Condominiums. It will be a good return for your investment.

The record stores are long gone, the demographic that they pander to has changed, and sadly the population that visits has obviously decreased a lot as well. We were there a few days before Christmas and there was only a handful of people walking around. We stopped in just to visit since we had just finished dinner at the attached restaurant. There is a handful of closed spots, with a few displaying signs that a new one is coming. A lot of the stores we were used to visiting are gone. The place seems, to me, a bit run down. Musty and a bit dusty. I can see where some items were made more modern and updated, but it still feels like it's aged a lot and not gracefully. For malls, it's a smaller one, it doesn't' carry a wide foot print, nor a very long one. The outside gives it a large appearance, but inside it's tiny. Even with its size, it's a decent mall to visit.

I wasn't sure if I was here to shop, to people-watch, or to get mildly lost between a Sunglass Hut and a rogue massage chair kiosk that tried to recruit me like I was joining a secret society. There's a certain charm to a mall that still has both a Build-A-Bear and a Victoria's Secret within 30 feet of each other. It's like childhood and adulthood arm-wrestling in the food court. I wandered past a perfume cloud thick enough to get its own zip code and ended up buying socks I didn't need, snacks I regretted, and confidence I didn't have. It's chaotic. It's weirdly nostalgic. It's Hulen Mall. 4 stars for the experience, minus one star for nearly being tackled by a flying drone toy demo.

If you end up at WHBM, I'll mention that their store manager Karina is the sweetest salesperson you could ask for. If you're ever in the area I'd definitely recommend stopping here! While several of the stores do cater to somewhat more mature customers, it's a great place for TCU students too; stores like Anthropologie and Free People immediately come to mind. Even in some of these stores that normally cater to older customers (mainly WHBM) I've found some cute items that might be appropriate for something like a sorority function; don't be afraid to have an open mind. Also, several of the clothing stores here seem trans- and GNC-friendly in my experience. As mentioned above I've had great experiences with WHBM, but Ann Taylor, Chico's (sister brand to WHBM), Madewell, Anthropologie, and Free People also felt welcoming as well.

My standards for how a thrift store smells are very low, but this place smells borderline toxic to where I fear for the health of the employees breathing this in all day. Their pricing system is questionable. Yes, the handwriting is hard to read as others mentioned but additionally the color tag being 50% is only 50% off if the original price *has not* been crossed out once already? WHERE IN THE STORE DOES IT ILLUSTRATE THIS POLICY? I purchased a pack of cheap wine glasses thinking that they would be 50% off of the current listed price since they were the color tag on sale- a societal norm- but no, the cashier said it has already been discounted once so it's not going to be discounted again, but she did say it was on sale... doesn't make sense. You're telling me they go around the store and slash all the prices and write them down? Why not just take the discount off at the register? The lack of clarity bothered me enough to write this review. As a cherry on top, the customer service is lackluster as well, as others mentioned. I wish they'd do better. Pros: large selection, somewhat organized.
