The prices are now outrageous, and the customer service--which used to be a strong point--is practically nonexistent. I live in San Diego and only stop by this store when I'm in the area. In the past, I've spent hundreds of dollars here and genuinely enjoyed shopping. Unfortunately, this visit was so bad that I won't be returning. Not a single employee greeted us or offered help. Instead, employees were unfriendly, rude, and completely disengaged. To make matters worse, one of the employees passed gas right as I was walking by, and then laughed as I walked through it. That alone was enough to make us leave immediately. We were the only customers in the store, which says a lot, and the way we were treated makes it even less surprising. It's sad to see what this place has become. I wouldn't be surprised if it closes soon if this is how customers are treated. I'll be taking my business online from now on. It's disappointing, because this store used to be a favorite when visiting--but those days are clearly over.

I found everything I was looking for! The store was clean and every employee was friendly. As a new sports fan, I'm glad I came to shop here and get my first Bengals merch. My cashier, Steven(?), was awesome as well. Really positive and upbeat - I could tell he was happy to be there. He told us "we've gotten new shipments every day; gotta stay stocked for the people!" The employees that I interacted with by phone or email were always professional and prompt with replies to inquiries. Their website is amazing, with selection for all of the major NFL, MLB, NCAA (even the lesser known schools are stocked to some degree or another), NBA, and MLS too. Oh and they have their city brand which highlights different locales, so if you know a transplant from Cleveland or other locales, and want to get them a shirt or chochtka with reference to said locales, they have you covered. Gear Up sells standard camping supplies (sleeping bags, backpacks, portable stoves, lanterns), survival gear (knives, rappelling gear), and emergency supplies (food rations, water purification). All of the goods I browsed look very high-quality (and pretty expensive), so they are marketed more to the serious backcountry campers than the RV and state park campers. Gear Up also sells a number of survivalist books, many of which are about self-defense. After skimming through a few volumes, I realized the target audience is a bit paranoid and a bit practical--folks who want to know how to kill someone with their bare hands (theoretically, I hope).
