We were so excited to come to Center Shot. The Scouts BSA unti my children belong to had been planning a visit since December. The Scoutmaster had been communicating online with Center Shot since then. Fast forward to March. A portion of our group meet at Center Shot. Said Scout Master went in to check us in, and figure out the next steps. Our group was immediately turned away. There was no record of our reservation. Not only that, but the center would not even look at the messages the Scoutmaster was exchanging with the business. No rotating through the Scouts with the available spaces. No trying to make something work. I give two stars rather than one due to someone in our group being patrons here, and saying that they like it. Otherwise, their terrible customer service and recordkeeping brings down their score. Usually a business will still look at the messages, and try to make things right somehow.

Looking for an old style, mom & pop store? The kind where service matters? Afield is that kind of…read morestore. During my two visits the proprietors greeted customers by name. A small sporting goods store (fishing & shooting guns/ archery only.) Afield does a good job of maximizing the space they have. A wider selection that Meijer or Walmart. New store hours! One of the owners told me they are now semi retired. Afield is now open Wednesday-Friday, 11am-7pm. At first, I considered dropping a star. Only open 3 days a week??? After experiencing their exceptional customer service, and seeing their prices, I decided to keep the 5 star rating. If I need something on a day they are closed, there are a plethora of chain store to choose from. It's nice to support small business when I can. Prices vary. Many items I was looking at were priced lower than Meijer; even Walmart. Low overhead equals savings for their customers. Some items look a little dated, that doesn't mean they aren't perfectly good. At the time I went FFL transfers are $25.00. That seems reasonable, and they don't try to give you a guilt trip about purchasing the firearm elsewhere. They seem to have the attitude of, "a $25 sale is a $25 sale." As another reviewer's tip says, it can be hard to find, and are located near the 275 bridge, behind an auto repair store. I have never noticed it before reading the other persons tip, so I figured it bears repeating.

Upon arrival they had already set up the arrows for us to use and put the targets together. We all rented equipment as none of us had shot an arrow before with a bow (gloves also provided) - Renting was $10 per person. The owner of the shop was very helpful and went through a quick lesson on how to hold the bow and arrows and gave sort of a crash course. This was BEYOND helpful and very appreciated. The odd thing was how close together you were next to the person shooting next to you, each person had roughly 1 foot for them to stand sideways and shoot your arrows. We had the freedom to move the targets and move between shooting lanes as we wanted - the freedom given was crazy! We ended up creating our own competition between the group - the area is small though and other people who were actually skilled at archery had come in and we had to try and be respectful of how they were coming in for actual practice. Overall - was a very fun, different, activity and the place was more than accommodating. Would recommend if you are looking for another team building event outside an Escape Room. I took my new (to me) Hoyt Vixen to them to have the draw length adjusted, install a new sight, adjust the peep sight, and have arrows cut for me. I'm new to the sport and I know that was obvious but they were patient with me as they helped me get the bow set up correctly. There are plenty of sporting goods stores in Lexington that sell archery equipment but I think R&R is worth the trip to Georgetown for the level of service and selection they offer.

Nice to you before the sale, poor service after the sale. They have very few items which are over priced. You can find the same merchandise at Dicks or Field and Stream. Field and Stream is a largest Hoyt dealer in KY and has a huge selection of everything. If you cannot tell, but i do not recommend R&R Archery. There are better places with cheaper prices and better service to spend you hard earned cash. Dicks in Hamburg and Fayette Mall, Sportsman Warehouse, and Field and Stream are all cheaper and have qualified bow techs with a return policy. Field and Stream is the largest Hoyt dealer in KY with an extensive selection of products to choose from.
